Chapter 20 - Silenced

Daniel and Lily visited the hospital after getting back together. Since she was still worried about Daniel's PTSD triggers even though his PTSD has been latent for quite a while. Ever since she showed the video to him, he hasn't been reacting too much about it.

"Why are we visiting the hospital?" Daniel asked Lily as they head toward the psychology department.

"For your checkup." Lily held his hand and reassured him.

Dr. Han opened the door and Lily greeted him. Dr. Han used to be her senior colleague from the other hospital but he transferred to another department.

"It's been a while since we last met, Lily." Dr. Han ushered them to take a seat.

"Yes. It's been a while. Thank you for booking us since you were so busy." Lily thanked him and Dr. Han shook his head.

"I should thank you. You were the one who diagnosed my wife's disease correctly while other doctors plus me can't seem to find the problem. She's doing well now." Dr. Han smiled and Lily shook her head humbly, "No need to thank me, I guess I was lucky." She carefully sipped the war. Dr. Han looked at Daniel and greeted him, "You are President Kim from HS Group, am I correct?" Daniel stood up and shook his hand.

"No need, no need. Please sit down. Are you two dating?" Dr. Han asked. Lily changed the topic, "Actually, we are here for a special check up. I got his medical record and I'm just worried about his PTSD history. A month ago, I showed him a video that should've triggered his PTSD but he was calm as if nothing happened. Does that mean he's over it?" Dr. Han looked over his file and he saw no indication of PTSD.

"Are you sure it's PTSD? There are no record of it." Dr. Han returned the medical file.

"I'm pretty sure. I knew there was something missing so I was thinking to check it up with you but few months ago... something happened so I wasn't able to." Lily replied. Dr. Han understood and fixed his glasses.

"Daniel, is it alright if I call you that?" Daniel nodded.

"Good. What I've seen from past cases, this is quite rare. Were your Ptsd consistent or it's on or off?" Dr. Han asked.

"Not too consistent." Daniel answered.

"Lily, this is a rare case of delayed onset of PTSD. It's generally rare. It happens when PTSD doesn't seem to happen often after trauma. It could take months or years for them to suddenly show up. From your case, it's been on and off for past months. From now on, your PTSD could trigger any moment since it wasn't too consistent. Lily, you need to watch over him if it happens. Daniel, even though it may be difficult... you can get through it." Dr. Han nodded and smiled as Lily bowed and said thank you. Dr. Han waved at them as he watched them walked down the hallway.

"They are totally dating." Dr. Han smiled as he went back to his office.

"Here!" Lily gave Daniel a cup of iced coffee. Daniel looked at her weirdly, "I don't drink iced coffee, they are too sweet." Lily looked at him strangely and stole his iced coffee. She was going to drink his but he took it away.

"Hey, I thought you said you didn't like it." Daniel didn't say anything but he smirked, "Thanks." Daniel got up and started walking ahead of her.

"Hey, wait up!" Lily got up and started to run after him.

Lily started to bicker at Daniel when she caught up with him and he really enjoyed it. Daniel went closer to her face and it caused her to have a mini heart attack.

"W-what are you doing? We are in the public now." Lily shook her head but Daniel ignored the crowds.

"I don't care what they say about us. The only thing matters is that you're mine." Lily dropped her iced coffee when Daniel kissed her on the lips. She never knew Daniel had this side of him. He was bold... not only in the bedroom but outside too. Lily couldn't think much. She closed her eyes and let Daniel take the lead.

Lily sat down on the couch and tried to comprehend about the situation. Did Daniel kissed her because he wanted attention or he truly loved her. She looked at Daniel who hasn't said anything since they came back.

Ray looked at Lily and then at Daniel, "Aha, don't even think about hiding it. I know what happened. You guys kissed in the public. Look at the crowds, Daniel... your fangirls will get so jealous." Daniel got up and confiscated his phone, "Did you finish up the reports?" Ray nodded and handed everything to him.

"An insider revealed it was Ken's wife who leaked the information." Daniel nodded and went back to his room. He was too tired to read them and laid on the bed.

"Seems like I overworked myself again." He sighed and closed his eyes.

"Elizabeth, drop the gun! Let me explain---" Daniel tried to calm her down but she still pointed the gun at him.

"Daniel. I trusted you. How could you betray me and murdered my mother! I should not have loved you. I hate you! I swear I will kill you." Elizabeth was in rage and looked at him, "Daniel, since you forced me to say this, I will say it. I never loved you, I used you for my own benefit." Daniel shook his head, "Elizabeth, tell me. It's not true. I know you loved me. Please, drop the gun. I will explain, okay? Don't become a murderer. Alright?"

Out of anger, she shot Daniel five times.

Daniel suddenly woke up feeling tightness in the chest. He was sweating buckets. Lily came in and sat beside him.

"It was a just nightmare. Everything will be alright." She poured a glass of water and gave it to him.

"Do you feel better?" She asked. He nodded and didn't say anything. Lily remained by his side by placing her head on his shoulder.

"Daniel, I'm here. I won't go anywhere." She reassured him many times. Daniel turned around and hugged her.

"Lily, I remembered a bit now. But some were still blurry." Lily understood and did not force him to tell her.

"Take your time. Your memories will eventually come back." Lily embraced him and she loved the feeling to be in the arms of the man she loved.
