Chapter 9 - Jade Lombardi

Syna strode towards the canteen, a vast hall upstairs on the roof in that six storey building. She stepped inside the hall which was solely made of glass instead of brick walls.

To add it's beauty and to ease the nerves of employees the roof was moveable, to let fresh air in.

Delicious items of all types, Continental, Thai, Chinese, Asian Traditional and many more were displayed onto the counters.

A whole bunch of employees was sitting and more than half of the hall was occupied leaving Syna to sit on the side, close to window. She walked upto the counter to have a look of displayed items.

The counters were separated by their origins and bakery was having another place closeby. Each counter was decorated by variety of colourful boards, which held the items on menu card.

The cafeteria was free of course as the ruthless Sinclair MacLaverty, was generous enough to provide his workers this privilege.

"I will take this sandwich and one cup of coffee."

Syna stretched her hand out and pointed towards a vegetable sandwich.

"Yes, your order is coming right away."

The attendee on the counter smiled at her when a woman approached Syna.

"Oh hi, dear."

The lady in yellow pent coat with a blood red shirt inside, greeted her cheerfully. Sure she had a great fashion sense, glittering one.

"Hi! We meet again."

Syna responded back the same shaking hands with her as the lady flung her arm out at her.

"Yes, very soon. I'm Jade, vice president of MacLaverty group."

Jade smiled wholeheartedly squeezing her hand gently as to show her warm welcoming gesture, which was visible on her beautiful face tainted in shades of light pink.

"Oh my! I did not recognize you ma'am. And I'm sorry for bumping with you yesterday."

Syna panicked after hearing that jade was on a high position and such an important personality was standing before her.

"It's completely okay, love. Oh! by the way, if you come across by any query or problem, come straight to me."

Jade winked at Syna with her shinny grey eyes by giving permitt to enter in her cabin, whenever she wanted to.

"Yes sure, ma'am."

Obediently she lowered her head a little. As took her ordered meal which arrived in between their conversation.

"Oh! keep those formalities away. Just call me Jade, and yes I came here earlier to inform you that Mr President left urgently, giving you a half leave today."

Jade suddenly recalled her motive for arrival and informed Syna. Sure she was a cousin of Sinclair and knew his whereabouts.

"So, can I leave early?"

Syna was happy deep down upon the thought that she could go for shopping with Lolita.

"Yes, dear. You can, have a great day ahead."

Syna said her goodbye to Jade and turned to leave the cafeteria, hurrying towards the elevator.

"Thank you, Jade."

"Lolita, let's go for shopping today."

In the elevator she rattled her phone out to order Lolita instead of asking her. The ladies shared great love more like between blood sisters.

"Okay, I will meet you there."

Lolita suggested some market and both set up a place to meet, as the lady would arrive there.

Syna was excited to do shopping as suddenly a thought came across her mind.

"Where would Mr President go at this hour?"

She shook her head to dismiss those thoughts and tapped on her heart to control the unstable emotions rising within her.

Syna grinned her teeth and picked up another parrot green long elegant gown, after plucking a green backless one.

The manager kept staring at her, hoping that Syna soon would make a choice as she already spend twenty minutes searching one rack.

She then strode to the second row pursing her lips and picked up another red shimmer frock then another after another, which she rejected all.

Syna plopped in despair on the bench waiting for Lolita, as she herself could not do this job. A few silent moments passed by, the manager and other employees starred at each other's face blankly, finally leaving her side.
