Similarly Syna's senses were fully blocked, it wasn't a normal comatose rather the curse had created a barrier between her and the outside world that Syna couldn't hear Sinclair's ranting, let alone the horrible truth and his confession.
That is how the thorn of suspicion blinds the senses and corrupts the mind with further pessimistic thoughts, negative assumptions which mostly turned out to be wrong in most cases. Syna was passing through the same whirlpool of the life, that the lady was supposed to listen to her own heart now, to rely on the intuition because the blood curse had blocked her senses.
