It was almost nightfall by the time they made it to their destination. It was a small clearing, but it had just enough trees to hide them for now. Justin had long changed back to his human form as the units gathered in their resting place. Many of the canines were starting to set up camp while others begun to work on collecting wood. One of the soldiers had caught a boar, which would make a perfect dinner. It was large, easy to cook, and it could feed everyone. Alissa had long ran off to help build and collect what was needed. She knew he had business to attend too. That left Justin alone to think on his thoughts. He had to wonder if he made the right choice, but his loyalty did not allow him to falter. It was both a curse and a gift, however he would not turn his back on his pack. Not now... not after everything they have given him. It was much more than his homeland had ever done for him.

"Justin." The male perked his ears and turned his eyes on the snowcap. While they were not best friends, Justin liked the man. He took crap from no one, and he had one hell of a mouth on him. He spoke strong, true, and without fear. He had starch in his spine and fire in his veins. The healer had made it on his own even after being thrown away at such a young age, which was impressive. Most pups did not live unless they were raised with a pack That was just how life was here, however he came back... stronger than before. Perhaps, one day the coyote would be seen for his talent, rather than for what he was born as. If it had been Justin's choice, Mouse would have joined him in his unit as a personal healer. To bad his Beta had good eyes and taste. Smiling, Justin walked over to the healer and reached out to ruffle the male's hair. Mouse bared his fangs with a low growl at the touch, however the delta did not even notice.

"Mouse, I see you caught up." Justin teased.

"No thanks to you." Mouse growled at him as he glanced back to the camp. Despite the noise, Justin chuckled under his breath. It was evident by the slight turn of Mouse's lips that the threat was not serious. Mouse's pink eyes darkened as he folded his arms over his chest. It was only then Justin could see the male seemed a bit tense. His eyes flickered about, his body was tight, and his tail would not remain still. Mouse was always quiet, but for some reason seemed so loud. The male was used to being alone and not having to explain himself. Rather, he spoke with actions. Long ago, Justin had come to realize Mouse had no idea how easy he was to read... how easy it actually was to follow his actions. While most hide behind a mask, Mouse left himself bare and outspoken. For a male so full of pride, he gave away so much.

Justin was not sure whether to call him stupid or brave. After all, their positions could easily be reversed. Folding his arms over his chest, he brushed against the thick black scaled shirt he wore. It matched his pants only to be interrupted by naked feet. It did not offer much, but it was enough to prevent some scratches and discomfort from the thicket. "What's wrong Mouse?" Justin whispered softly.

The coyote glanced over and stared for a moment. His pink eyes hardened and dilated in alertness. For a second, Justin was not sure if he would answer, but Mouse knew better than that. "I'm not sure. I feel like something is watching us, but I cannot pick up any smells or see anything."

Justin snorted at the mention of the male's visions. He did not believe a word of it. How could anyone believe such a thing? If it could not be touched, it did not exist. Besides, everything was up for interpretation. Justin had half a mind to tell him so, but the sight of Mouse displaying his fangs kept him quiet. "I'm serious Justin." Mouse snarled.

"If you say so." Justin patted Mouse on the back before turning away to dismiss it all together.

"Fine, don't believe me." The coyote snorted and turned his focus away. Pink eyes came to watch the camp again. Justin's eyes followed to see the solders were becoming a bit rowdy. Even grown, many of them still held a puppy side. It had him smiling at the sight of some chasing while others sat around chatting and laughing. This war had taken so many lives. Soon, more would be taken most likely within the next few days. To think this had become his new normal... To be apart of this brought warmth to his bones. It was not a mistake to come here. It was not a mistake to leave behind everything he knew for this.

"I'm going hunting." Mouse's words pulled him back.

Glancing in his direction, a playfulness lite life within Justin's blue eyes. "I will go with you."

The coyote frowned, but slowly a hint of a small smile found his lips. "If you can keep up."

Justin grinned. "I will take that challenge."

---

Justin's hand moved across the page slowly as his blue eyes glanced along the words. It was finally quiet expect for lazy laughter of his troops, and the howling wind. The hunt with Mouse had been rather successful... for the coyote that is. Justin had no luck catching anything, however at least he was relaxed now. The thoughts of Natrisha were long gone, along with his nagging guilt. It would be awhile before the memory of the encounter faded though. Just as, the anxiety of her reaction to Alissa continued to haunt his senses. Sighing, the male laid his writing feather on the makeshift table. It was a natural flat rock, which was why he chose to put his shelter here. It gave him a good surface to make a few notes and get his thoughts down. Although, it did little for him when he was a walking corpse. He was so tired. The day had crept into his bones, and weighed him down. He felt as if thousand of pounds laid on him.

The male dragged a hand over his face with a low groan. He needed to sleep. They had a long day ahead of them, and he had a feeling it would end with a blood soaked muzzle. This was war after all. The feline clan was well known for being brutal... bloody and terrifying. They had no quarrels against taking what was theirs, even if it left a trail of bodies and nightmares. They were one of the only clans that killed for fun... who built armies and units just for conquering clans. Of all them, they were the ones that had the most blood on their hands. Many clans just wanted peace for themselves and their people. This word was harsh enough without killing each other. To think, he had their essence running through his veins. Would he too succumb to his lineage ? Would he inherit their demonic nature? Justin smiled sadly at that idea. His blue eyes darkening while he lifted his head. The scent of flowers and pine caught his nose. Justin would know that scent anywhere.

It kissed its way across his skin until it had him drunk with need and hunger. The simple scent had him hard... burning and restless, yet he refused to turn to it. Rather, he refocused himself on his work as his tent opened. Alissa stepped in with her usual innocent smile and bright eyes. Little did she know, those eyes invited wicked things to be done to her. "What are you still doing up and working at that?" Justin chuckled under his breath at her sass as she made her way over. Alissa leaned over to nuzzle against his naked shoulder before shoving her head under his chin. Her bright feather dress tickled his skin. It made him only more restless. Justin nuzzled against her temple while she forced herself into his lap. The warmth of her skin to his spread like a wildfire while she continued to rub against him. Her brushes of kisses and nips brought an assault of shivers with it. Before long, she had pulled the bear fur vest away to reveal just his skin. It was a common routine of theirs. She would find him awake, lecture him, and then she would demand attention. Tonight, however, Justin knew he would not be satisfied with simple kisses and licks. He was not a sexual creature, but even nature came calling once in awhile for him.

Growling low, Justin flashed her a set of fangs and moved to possessively place them against her shoulder. His tongue licked along her mark there as if to remind her who she belonged too. Alissa froze for a second, yet bared her neck to him. Her eyes glanced up at him... clear... swirling with desire just as his were. Softly, he brushed his canines along her throat... down her shoulder until he found her chest. Gasping, she gripped his side while his tongue dipped passed her clothing to lick between her breasts. She tasted sweet on his tongue, but tonight he did not wish to be patient. He was tired, on edge, and could die tomorrow. He wanted deep inside of her. Hell, he wanted to mark her, yet he held his fangs back. "Alissa." Justin nearly snarled. He could feel her tense around him. She glanced up again to read him, however only heated dark eyes could be found. The gentle blue was on fire. They gave no hint of just what he planned to do to her, and that only gave way to a rising red on her cheeks.

"Ju-" Alissa yelped in surprise as the general sealed his lips to hers. Without mercy, his hand tangled in her sunshine blond hair and took control of her. His lips... usually so soft and gentle had a sense of urgency. They tasted of fear... desire... his usual playfulness was plagued by a man that knew of death and war. Yet with her, he softened himself... only for her. Alissa's eyes slowly closed as she reached up to bury her fingers in his ink black hair. Her fingers tugged at his strands and moved until she could scratch down along his back. Groaning low in his throat, Justin's tongue brushed against her lips. Alissa did not hesitate to open up to him. He dived to kiss her. His tongue twisted with hers... brushing along as he feasted on her, but just as he did his arm came to snatch around her. Yanking the small girl with him, Justin turned and moved to the furs in the middle of the room. Without breaking the kiss, he knelt down to gently play her onto her back before lowering himself down onto her.

"J-Justin." Alissa finally gasped for air and whimper as she threw her head back. His teeth grazed down her body to lap against her skin... yanking at her feathered dress. He needed to taste her.

"W-Wait." She whimpered and pushed weakly against his chest. Propping himself up, Justin lazily looked down at her with a playful smile. She knew he was going to rip her dress off if she did not remove it. She loved that feathered dress though. He would not dare, but he would never tell her that. Panting hard, she sat up and pulled it off. Alissa tossed it beside her before covering her chest. Glancing away shyly, the female bit against her bottom lip. She was beautiful, flushed crimson with glittering sweat dripping from her skin. Justin's smile widened at the sight as she sat there... naked...Soon, she would forget, he would be sure of that. Nipping at her shoulder, he moved his body against hers. Kissing down her body, he nudged her arms aside to taste her nipple... then the other. Wrapping his lips around one, he twisted it against his teeth before suckling it roughly. Nails scratched along his back making Justin arch against them. By the Gods, he was possessed. His vision blurred as their gasping breaths filled the air. Their heat left him light headed, but it was her taste that left him intoxicated. He was drowning in it. Releasing her nipple, he brushed his tongue along her... her chest... along her stomach, and down until he reached her hip.

"By the Gods." He cursed out loud. Alissa laughed breathlessly as she ran her hands along his body... scratching along his ribs and his shoulder. "What am I going to do with you?" Smiling, the stiff muscles were starting to leave him as he reached down to yank off his bearskin pants. He tossed them with her clothing, yet when he did Alissa moved to cover herself.

Glancing at the tent, she spoke. "W-What if... someone walks in?"

Justin's eyes brightened as he brushed his tongue along her inner thigh. She jerked with a gasp. "Justin, I'm serious!" She growled weakly.

"I hope they do." Justin groaned as he grinded his bare self against her. Her slickness coated him making her tremble.

"B-B-But..." She could not get a word out as he thrust against her again, but he obeyed her wishes. Chuckling at her nervousness, he reached over to grab a fur hind and pulled it over them. Laying over her again, he brushed a kiss softly against her lips.

"I got you." He whispered which earned him an innocent smile. Reaching down, Justin gripped himself before kissing along her skin again. She threw her head back to expose her neck just as he buried himself into her. Justin covered her lips with his own to muffle her scream. For a second, he waited as she adjusted to him. Sweat beat down his body.. covering hers while body of them panted and gasped from the contact. However, neither of them were patient for long. Alissa rolled her hips making him clench his jaws.

"I love you Justin. By the Gods, I love you so much." Alissa whimpered as she buried her face against his shoulder. "Without you..."

Justin hushed her as he nuzzled against her throat. "I am not going anywhere Alissa. I promise." Closing his eyes, he breathed in her scent. "I lo-"

"Justin!" Justin snarled loudly as Alissa screamed. Protectively, he parted his jaws and flashed raging eyes to the intruder while his female tried to cover herself.

Realizing who it was, he lowered himself completely on Alissa to cover her. "Damn it Mouse!" The delta wanted to rip out the healer's throat for interrupting them. His territorial nature called to him to remind Mouse to show some respect, yet there was something in the male's fearful eyes that made him hold his tongue. Alissa, on the other hand, was covering her face in utter shame. She wanted to hide away, yet with his weight on her that was impossible.

Without missing a beat, Mouse turned back to Justin. "We need to move the units, now." The coyote practically ordered Justin. His voice was urgent, demanding. The fear shook from his voice, which was the only reason Justin perked up.

Justin frowned as he forced himself from his mate. The sounds of her whimpers pained his heart, but this was urgent. Mouse was rarely emotional. Soon though, she was hidden behind him while using the deer skin to cover herself. It settled the beast inside of the delta knowing she was safe. However, he was able to feel the rage burning inside of her both from built up pleasure, and the fact Mouse was speaking in such a manner. It was rare her temper got high, yet he knew it was more from embarrassment. He did not miss the glare from the coyote to shut her up. For a second, he thought of correcting the male. It was Alissa's touch as she buried herself against him that calmed him. "I'm listening." The delta spoke while his hand brushed along his trembling mate.

Mouse seemed to study him as he grew more and more anxious. The fear bleached the air and turned it sour. He was growing paler by the second... looked almost sickly. The healer clenched his hands as he meet the delta's eyes. "I saw a crow. We need to move... now." Justin's concern only grew as the snowcap's voice become to tremble and end in a shout. "Death is coming this way, so do your fucking jobs and move this unit!"

Justin forced himself to remain still. He had never seen Mouse so shaken before. He did not believe in Mouse's powers. He thought them to be nothing but an overactive imagination. Yet, Mouse's instincts were indeed something to behold. If the healer was this concerned, it held merit. "Did you ask Scarlett?"

The answer only seemed to pain Mouse as he glanced away. "She refuses to move the units."

That did not surprise Justin. She was stubborn to the point of stupidity sometimes. Scarlett would rather fight to the death then run. Not to mention, she hated Mouse with a passion. "Let me talk with her."

Mouse bowed his head in what seemed to be relief. "Thank you."

Justin grinned as he grabbed his clothing and stood. "Don't thank me yet. You know how she can be." Alissa, unsure what to do, simply grabbed her own clothing to do the same.

The delta flashed her an apologetic look, before yanking on his shirt. Mouse, unsatified with the male's answer stepped from the tent. Justin knew he would wait until he saw his delta walk towards the female alpha's tent. "So much for a peaceful night." He mumbled before bending down to kiss his mate quickly. "Get some rest. I will be back soon."

Whimpering, Alissa kissed him back before brushing her fingers along his cheek. Without words, he knew what she was asking. She believed in Mouse's words. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine." Justin winked as he removed himself to finally walk from the tent.

The last thing he heard was her gentle "I love you" as he begun his way to his alpha's.
