"Are all awakened this bloody powerful?"
Kire shook his head. "The Nameless One is the only way I could do this."
"...the what?"
Kire shrugged. "The god I worship. He is the Nameless One."
He began to move out, taking the spectacles with runic designs along the frames that had been handed out before the mission began, and putting them on.
He looked around as the enchanted item did its work, showing him the heat signatures of all around him viewed through the glass.
Everyone else also put on these glasses, and set the chain across their cloaks to seal, causing a brief surge of purple-red to flash across the cloaks before it faded away.
"How do you pray to a Nameless God?"
Kire smiled. "Just pray to one who will listen. Do you have to give a name to such a being?"

They came to the walls built of many thin trunks of small trees lashed together into a wooden wall only about 150 cm tall, but each was a sharpened point upwards.
Kire knelt next to the wall, and they all hunkered down, seeing the heat signatures of all the tribesmen within the camp, as Kire began to gather the rich ambient moisture thanks to the fog, using it to soak the logs next to him and speed up the rot, softening the wood...
Then suddenly, the small lower portion froze over, melted, froze again, melted into steam joining the fog, again and again and again until the wood actually began to be soft enough that Kire could dig his fingers into it!
He then drew his modified knife, with a jagged edge like a saw, and began working on the softened wood until he could use air magic to cut and pull out the pieces of log, creating a small gap in the fence/wall.
He slipped in, and the others followed, all drawing their knives as the crept to the tents, slipping under walls of frantic to slit the throats of the sleeping men.
Kire stood over a sleeping man.
'...why is this so hard?'
He's killed before. He slaughtered, he killed those assassins.
But this man here never even had a chance to defend himself.
Kire felt a part of him, something that still wanted to believe he was in the right.
But was he?
Why was he doing this?
To make his life more convenient?
[It's okay. Everyone has their own life... but death isn't the end for these people.]
Kire stood, frozen in shock.
'What? What do you mean death isn't the end?'
Silence was all that answered him.
'What made you speak to me?'
Nothing.
A god spoke as they wished, but had no need to respond to prayer.
It had surprised Kire how the Nameless One seemed so willing to supply more power and even help him control the fog, despite how he felt a clear sense that his god did not care what he was doing this for.
What he said...
[Death isn't the end.]
A god with a strange compassion and mercy.
Kire knelt next to the sleeping man... and slit his throat, even as he held him mouth shut.
The man's eyes shot open, panic in them as he couldn't speak, couldn't breath, and saw the shadow over him.
Kire made sure no sound would escape before he spoke.
"May the Nameless One take you... death shall not be your end."
The man died... and Kire left that tent with a strange conviction in his eyes, a faith.
He believed in the one he took as his god, and every man he killed that night heard the words.
"May the Nameless One take you."

Now... how to explain this.
I honestly have no idea what the fuck just happened.
I was lazing around, practicing magic with Avaya and Korven, and helping Kire figure out a fog spell, which honestly is good practice to try and get ready to figure out air.
Why is air the next element I'm shooting for? It's not. Fire is actually, but air is the one I think I might need more, What with my serpentine shape making flying an... interesting idea.
Bast was mostly just traveling, I had checked in on her horse-who seemed to be absorbing light and air at a steady pace-so all was well.
Then I saw Kire's hesitation with cold blooded murder.
'What a human emotion... compassion is fine, but to be a predator, you must take all advantages against your prey.'
I know that thinking isn't normal to me as who I was, but was it wrong?
No, it was true. It's right. To kill is to live. But how can I help this child without forcing him to abandon himself...?
Oh wait!
I of all people know death isn't the end! I can't quite remember what being dead was actually like, but I mean...
The fact I'm fucking reincarnated is a pretty good indicator.
And then THE SHIT happened.
Kire said those words... and my understanding of how reality worked took a hard left turn.
Cause those people died...
And then I could see them.
In my space.
Dead.
'...okay what the fuck.'
Is praying for me to take the dead enough to actually give me someone's FUCKING SOUL?!
WHAT THE FUCK?!
Okay they weren't like... in my galaxy. It's more like they were in... another layer?
An empty world, like a place unbuilt.
'I... have no idea what to do here.'
[You're building a world?!]
'...oh. So now you show up.'
'You. Fucking. Goddess.'
[What the hell did you do?]
'I literally just told my follower that death isn't the end! Then he prayed for me to take those he killed!'
[You introduced... the idea of an afterlife into this world?]
'Uh. Yeah? I know it exists after all. Wait introduced?'
[...you realize no one in this world, god or mortal, ever had a belief in the afterlife? They worship gods because they actually exist, not for salvation like in your old world. As far as anyone was concerned, Death meant you ceased to exist.]
'Oh fuck me.'
I'm not always stupid.
I know that in this world, God's are meant to be fueled by belief.
So a belief in an afterlife anchored on me...
Fuuuuuuuuuck.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I fucked up.
Or maybe I did a good thing?
Um... I've no idea anymore.
Wait is that why Kire is so devoted to me? Because I brought him back from what he believes to be oblivion?
Okay... more importantly.
What the fuck am I supposed to do about those comatose souls I just got handed.
Do I have to... build an actual afterlife now?
How the fuck am I supposed to make a whole-ass WORLD?!
I'm not an actual god! Or well... I guess I do have the power of mortal belief, so I'm like a half-god by this worlds classification, but I'm not an actual God god!
I'm not able to just make a world!
[That's your problem. I'm starting to get why the fate lines said you were the one to I needed now though.]
'Fate lines? I wasn't random? No wait, fucking help me out you useless goddess!'
[Fuck you bitch.]
'...oh come on.'
I totally just shot myself in the foot trying to comfort Kire huh.
