[So. Any questions?]
"How did you two manage to influence my water magic?"
"He used fire magic to pull away all the heat within the water so it naturally froze, meaning to make it liquid you should have focused on raising its temperature by giving it energy." Bast answered Kire.
I sighed and added on, [unfortunately you seem more used to just changing its state without using temperature, so you had some difficulty.]
Kire nodded, tucking in his chin as he thought for a moment before a small droplet of water appeared before stretching out and freezing, vaporizing into a cloud of mist, and returning to a water droplet.
"To change it's state through the pressure of my Will is faster than waiting for temperature to do its thing, but also more energy consuming to keep up..." he muttered.
"Maybe if I do both at once? To do it quickly and naturally I'll have to practice it till it becomes a force of habit though, so that will be something to train on."
Bast looked at me. "How did you split the light spears?"
[Well you ought to know that white light will split into a rainbow when out through a prism such as water droplets that are perfectly round or crystals, right?]
She nodded. "Can you do it without a prism then?"
[I don't know, I haven't tried.]
Silence.
"...but you... just did."
Kire spoke up at this point again, "Actually I could sense water particles in those spears. If I had to guess he had a few droplets cling to the sides and at the moment he needed, moved them to the tip to split the spears."
He looked at me. "Am I right?"
I nodded.
Bast asked another question. "How did you make your killing intent and force of will come form a different direction to trick me?!"
See here was the thing Bast couldn't possibly figure out!
I rolled my eyes a little. [This should be obvious guys.]
Kire and Bast looked at each other, and annoyance could be clearly seen. How can the method of moving your aura to somewhere where you ARE NOT be obvious?!
[I'll give you both a hint: killing intent is emitted by your will being focused on aggressive action towards another, and is emanated as an aura.]
"..."
Finally Bast couldn't take it. "That's not even a fucking hint!"
[Your will is the source. That's the hint.]
"Your will is HERE!" She gestured at me wildly. "You can't separate body and will, especially since right now your body IS your will!"
Kire froze and seemed to delve deep into thought once again.
"Separate will? Focus... killing intent is focus... focused will but separate from the body."
He looked up and Bast looked at him expectantly.
"All I can think of are spellstars. You build the spell out of your will which is imbued in the spellstars as the individual functions after all."
Bast sighed. "Yeah but spellstars do SPELLS, they don't release killing intent-"
She cut off as she saw the mocking expression on my face.
"...oh."
She thought. And thought some more.
Kire finally asked, "why can't you just tell us these things? Why do you keep leaving it up to us to teach ourselves and each other?"
[Why does a god not help their followers in all things? Why doesn't a parent care for their child in all things? Why would a father let his child touch a hot pot of boiling water instead of warning them away?]
They both looked at me blankly.
[Sigh... it's about the learning. If I provide everything you become dependent on me.]
[You already use my power and magic, I don't want you to be unable to think and figure stuff out for yourself. It's up to you to figure stuff out, because when you fight an enemy, it'll be up to you to figure out what they're doing and how so you can counter or even copy it.]
Also I can't help but notice Bast had forgotten to ask how I made her spears all refract in different directions... ah well, I'm sure Kire bodies and will explain how I changed the slay content and reflectiveness of the water when he uses it against Bast himself their next round.
I shrugged with my wings. [Anyways, I'm curious. What kind of lives do the two of you lead at this point? I know you were a soldier and you were a village girl originally...]
I pointed my head at Kire, then Bast.
Kire said with some confusion, "What suddenly makes you interested? Isn't a god meant to be above all that?"
[Well you are my first and only two followers-hey wait a second! I'm not a god!]
Bast looked at Kire with a smug and disdainful smile. "He's obviously a spirit of nature."
[No I'm just a dragon!]
"Uh Huh."
"Uh Huh."
'...these two... absolutely don't believe me.'
Argh...
[Listen I'm just asking cause I'm curious okay?! I'm headed to the dragon islands to the west of this continent, but the Journey is long and I've hit a wall with my magic absorption.]
Kire frowned. "What do you mean?"
I laughed. [You think you're the only ones who have to limit how much of all this magic they absorb into their astral bodies? Anyways it doesn't really concern you, my mortal flesh can only take so much of a single type of magic right now is all you need to know.]
"But that leads to you being interested in us all of a sudden because..."
[You don't need to be so confused! Seriously is me showing some curiosity towards your lives so weird...]
I had reached a sort of limit in my own body.
I refined myself with light magic as I fused more of it within me, and the direct effect on my physical body with SO much of it coming in is that my boy's natural vitality has raised a bit, with a massive increase to my senses.
So I heal a bit faster and recover stamina, as well as needing less rest, but my senses have EXPLODED.
However this was reaching a limit where my body wouldn't be able to handle much more. I brought it up with Korven and apparently my increased vitality will naturally strengthen the rest of my body in every aspect over time.
But there's nothing stopping me from absorbing a different element, is there? My vitality can't keep increasing as my body won't be able to handle the sheer amount of fuel, but if I increased the bodies capabilities, that would change, wouldn't it?
I think fusing with an element slowly adds a passive increase to your capabilities that are identical to the fusion magic.
So Kire is slowly getting faster and more flexible and dexterous while Bast is gaining more vitality and becoming stronger physically... it's just that the amount they absorb is kinda tiny compared to me.
Even if I'm a hatchling, my dragon flesh is much stronger and more resistant than theirs.
But this made me encounter an issue: which element do I fuse with next?
Fire would make me stronger, so I might be able to fly sooner with more powerful wing flaps, as well as leap off the ground harder and generally improve my bodies strength, which would also allow me to absorb EVEN MORE light magic.
Air would increase my speed, and make me lighter, so it might also make me able to fly sooner, make me travel faster, and react to things even faster perhaps. I'm unsure if this would increase how much light magic I could absorb.
Water would make me able to move more fluidly, like a snake, and likely make my movement as a dragon more efficient. Also more flexible muscle means it can take more pressure and absorb the impacts better since it would be kinda like rubber in effect, so that also would increase how much light magic I can handle.
However...
The final element I had access to but couldn't use.
Earth.
The one with the biggest cloud outside my Star by just a tiny smidge, because all the elements in me are equal.
So my Star has more light, meaning my cloud of light is smaller than the other elements.
My Star has no earth, making that the biggest surrounding cloud.
It all balanced out in the end.
So if I absorbed earth, I would gain the ability to USE earth magic, become MORE DURABLE, and therefore withstand more magic!
That's basically the one with the most benefits... but it's also the one I have the least clue how to start absorbing.
