I sat in my seat uncomfortably, it's not like the seat was uncomfortable but it was more to do with the feeling of leaving everything behind possibly for good. It upset me that my life as I knew it was no longer there, in its place a new foreign life was waiting for me and I wasn't keen on this new one.
Every now and then I would shift in my seat and my hands were constantly fidgeting, I could not keep still. With all the constant moving I was doing I was getting dirty looks from the other passengers, I certainly was sticking out unlike the others that seemed super calm I was freaking the hell out. I was making my self sick with all the worrying which wasn't helping me at all, I didn't want to be known as 'someone who threw up on the ship.' The new vomit comet.
"T minus 10 minutes." Came a computerised voice from somewhere. My panic escalated. My fidgeting grew more erratic and my face paled. I want out!
"Hay you ok? You don't look so good." To the right of me was a boy about my age, he had neon red hair with yellow and orange undertones making it look like it was on fire. It was a nice look for him, it complimented his onyx eyes. He was most certainly handsome, I'd tap that. My thoughts strayed trying to distract itself, in my defence he was a good distraction.
"No... I'm not ok." I said trying to look away from his mesmerising hair that seemed to not only look like fire but act like it too. It stuck up in odd angles and seemed to gently sway this way and that way, it was almost hypnotising.
"First time?" He asked with pity clear on his face. All i could do was nod as another announcement came on and said that there was only 5 minutes left. "You'll get used to it." I looked up at him and gave him a look that clearly said that I doubted him as I gripped my trousers tightly with my hands. The pity in his voice told me volumes of what was to come, if there was something to pity then it certainly wasn't going to be fun.
When the rumbling engine of the spaceship intensified i could feel my self freeze. I do not like this. I hate that blue haired jerk, he knew this was going to happen! His cocky grin should have told me at least that much! I should have asked Ben (the nice soldiers name) what its like to ride in one of these, although he never did look me in the eyes when we got to the space port. That little shit new what was going to happen, felt guilty about but didn't tell me! I swear when I get my hands on him...
"T minus 5-" Oh shit no!
"4-"oh lord please have mercy on my soul.
"3-" please don't crash, please don't crash!
"2-" I'm sorry everyone I might just die before I go into battle!
"1-" don't kill me, please don't kill me oh mighty machine of flying metal!
"Lift off!" I'M GONNA DIE!
As the spaceship took off I could feel my entire body slam into the seat and get pined there by the g-force, it was not a pleasant feeling and I could tell I would never get used to it... ever.
The time it took us to reach space was short and I could soon feel my body become light with the zero-G but I still didn't like the take off. The zero-G however was awesome! But something felt off.. like the calm before the storm. God I hope not.
"See it wasn't that bad." I looked over to the fire hired boy to see he was smiling like a dork, pure and innocent. I had to admit his dimples when he smiled made him look cute.
"No you're right, it was worse." I gave him a grim look as if to say 'you lied to me'. Which he did.
"Pfft! Ahaha! Well I cant say its a nice feeling but at least you didn't pass out." He gestured to the other passengers and he was right, most of them if not all had lost conciseness. "You know I'm quite surprised that you haven't, I thought you'd be the first to pass out 'cos of all that fidgeting you where doing. You know all the passengers on here are going to the interstellar soldier academy and the only ones on here that should be awake are the ones with space training. Well i guess you're a promising new student." He gave me a reassuring smile but I wasn't so quick to trust. Clearly he was a bit sadistic, that much I could tell.
"So you're older than me? But i could have sworn we were the same age." I tried to ignore the subtle jab he gave when he said he expected me to pass out by changing the subject. Sure it was an unpleasant feeling but surely not enough to make someone pass out but apparently so by looking around. He raised his eyebrow at me in question, like I asked a very stupid question.
"Well I would have thought you'd guess that by the colour of my hair." It was my turn to raise an eyebrow. He sighed, "Well I guess you didn't know. My hair isn't died its natural-" I snorted, you've got to be kidding me there's no way its natural. "-and that is because I'm a fire demon. More precisely an imp." Now my brain when from blank to out right calling bullshit. The fuck he is! No way in hell, see like I thought he's a little sadistic to be spouting such nonsense and thinking me a fool.
"What the hell?" Was all I could manage to say before an announcement came through the speakers, saying we would be now be entering a black hole to transport us to the academy. Panic immediately set in, turning to the boy I saw a smile light up his face. Turning to me he said four word that made me shiver.
"This will be fun."
'No the fuck it won't' I immediately thought.
The feeling of going through a black hole is drastically different from the G-force of a lift off. This felt like I was being squeezed, compacted and twisted in wired ways all at once. The announcement said we were 50% through the black hole but unfortunately I was starting to black out. This was the most pain I had ever felt, not saying much but still very traumatic for my white teenage ass to experience.
"Well damn, how uncool of me." I muttered as my vision looked like was in a dark tunnel with a tiny white light at the end, that soon blacked out though.
"Well if it makes you feel any better, you did great holding on this long." I managed to hear the fire haired boy say before blacking out. 'Sarcastic fuck', was my last thought.
