Father: "How could you be so foolish?!"
I sat in silence while staring out the window of dad's black limo. Vivi was sitting in between me and Ayres.
Father: "Well?!"
Ayres: "We were only-"
Father: "Do you know how dangerous the Daraks are?! You could've been killed! I knew I shouldn't have sent you to do this mission. Your to weak."
I glared at him, that's when I snapped.
Me: "We're not to weak, maybe if you had trained us better we would've been able to defeat the damn thing!"
Father: "I did train you! And what were you doing? Sitting on the ground enchanting some Latin nonsense that's not important while Ayres was dying-"
Me: "That 'Latin nonsense' was a healing spell! If it wasn't for me she would've died!"
Father: "You need to learn how to do your spells while fighting."
Me: "It's not that simple! This isn't Harry Potter dad!-"
Father: "Commander Chase-"
Me: "I don't care what you want me to call you! Your my dad! At least you used to be, now your acting like my drill sergeant!"
Father: "I have to act like one to deal with you! You won't listen to me if I act like a fath-"
Me: "Then why are you my father at all? If you can't act like a father, or at least try to be one then you should've never had me."
Father: "Don't start trying to make me go soft-"
Me: "This isn't about me making you go soft, this is about how I wish I had a better father who actually cares about me! Not a drill sergeant who has more men to spare if his only daughter died!"
Father: "Silence! I am done hearing you complain."
Ayres: "With all due respect sir, if it wasn't for Kiley, I would have been dead. She saved me, and I am thankful. What are we going to do with the wizard?"
Vivi: "For the last time, it's a fucking warlock!"
Father: "We are going to question him, then ask if he would like to join us."
Me: "So Ayres almost died because you wanted a new agent? Nice going."
Father: "Say something again-"
Me: "Something again."
He was fuming with rage, he angrily ignored my comment.
Me: "So what's next 'commander'?"
Father: "Your all lucky no one saw you fighting, if someone saw you, you all would've had to change schools. However, Vivi next time don't hide in a teacher's room."
Vivi: "Yes sir..."
The rest of the ride was quiet, about 10 minutes later we came up to a large building called Chase industries. My father made videogames as a cover up, but really he made fighting simulators to train us and other agents. The limo parked infront of the building and we all got out. As we walked in my father disappeared into the elevator, he was probably going back to his office as always.
Ayres: "Kiley?"
I turn to face her.
Ayres: "Thank you for saving me, I know your father may not be thankful but I am. If it wasn't for you I would've died. However maybe you should think about what your dad said."
Me: "What part? There was a lot to that conversation."
Ayres: "Fighting while doing magic? It could be worth a shot, I'll even help."
Vivi: "Me to."
I smiled and hugged them both.
Me: "Thanks guys-"
Wizard: "Hey get off of me!"
We all turned to the wizard boy, a guard was dragging him by the arm towards the elevators.
Me: "Hey!"
The guard looked at me, me and my friends walked over to him.
Me: "Where are you taking him?"
Guard: "You know where Agent Chase."
He meant the underground lair, that's right, they were gonna ask him questions.
Me: "I'll do it."
Guard: "Agent Chase I don't-"
Me: "Go, now."
The guard sighs and let's go of the wizard boy. He leaves and I look at the wizard.
Me: "So your the wizard?"
Vivi: "It's a Warlock! Is that so hard to understand?!"
I laugh and point to her.
Me: "That's Vivi, Ayres and I'm Kiley. You are?"
Mikah: "My name is Mikah, and Vivi's right, it's warlock."
Vivi: "See! I told you!"
Me: "Ok ok you made your point. Come on, we have to escort you to the batcave."
Mikah: "Batcave?"
Me: "Yea, don't worry it looks cool."
We all step into the elevator and I press in the secret code, which was 43521, but shh! don't tell anyone. Down we decended to the batcave and all of watched in amazement as light's began to shine on us. Every time I went down there and saw the lights, it was like going down there for the first time.
