Athena's POV
I don't even know where I'm heading right now—I don't even know what I'm thinking. My heart continues to hurt; somehow begging me to stop walking and just walk back toward him. But why should I? Shouldn't him?
I feel someone pulling my arm and as soon as I turn around, Alex pulls me closer—trying to stop me from walking any further but I act as stubborn as I always have; by pulling my arm away from him. He seems surprised at my action but he immediately pulls me once more.
''Stop it, let go of me.'' I say, roughly pushing him away but he won't budge.
Tears are streaming down my cheeks; I can't be close to him—he's my whole weakness. Alex loosen the grip on my arm as he pulls me closer toward his body. This time, I let him wrap his arm around my body; sharing his warmth with mine. I automatically cover my face with my hands—not wanting to see his face. It confuses me by the way he acts.
''Let go.'' I mutter but I stay still, knowing that I can't even escape from his grip. If he wants me here, he'll make me stay.
Alex cups my face, lifting my head up, ''Look at me.'' He says and I can feel the closeness of our faces. I open my eyes slowly, focusing into his blue ones. My heart skips a beat at the intimacy. We've been away for so long, we forget how it feels like being close to one another.
I force myself to look away from him and as soon as I succeeded, he sighs, ''Princess, please, look at me.'' The tip of his index finger touches my chin, ''I'm sorry, please, please just look at me.'' He sounded more like he's begging and it hurts me to say that I sympathy him. No matter what he said to me or what he do, I always give in. He has this special space in my heart that—only him. Our eyes meet once more and I see the brightness in his eyes; as if he's happy, ''I don't want you to leave. I want you here. I want you.''
''What I said the other day, I'm sorry. I could never hate you, I could never push you away. I would never. Not when I need you most. You're the most important person in my life and I would never find anyone to replace you. There's no one out there that could make me feel the way I do whenever we're together. No one out there can have so much problem in her life but still stay strong and tough as if she's not facing any of them. You're special and I'm more than glad for having you as my wife.'' He smiles down at me, caressing the side my cheeks with his thumb.
He leans in before resting his forehead on mine, ''I love you, Athena. I love you so much that I want to live my present and plan my future with you. It would be stupid of me if I ever let you go—I'd be a hopeless man.'' I feel his warm breath on the bridge of my nose, ''So, be mine. This time it's just you and me.''
One of his hand goes down to my waist before pulling my body closer; leaving no space in between. His lips instantly meets mine, kissing me passionately. I kiss him back; following the rhythm. How I missed the softness of his lips, the comfort of his touches and the exhilarated feeling.
I wrap my hand around his neck, deepening the kiss. Like I said, I can never resist. But to be honest, the real question is, who could? It's true, I am the luckiest woman in the whole world—to have such a perfect man as my husband.
Slowly, I break the kiss by pushing him slightly on his chest. Alex looks down at my lips before leaning back—getting a better view of my face. As soon as he tries to lean in once more, ''Whoa, whoa, stop!'' Liam shouts, loudly.
Alex sighs, brushing his lips against my cheek instead. He turns around, looking at Liam and from the side, I can see him clenching his jaw—holding back his anger. It's funny how Liam always does this, almost all the time when Alex and I are trying to fix what's there between us. ''What the hell do you want?'' Alex asks, taking a deep breath.
''Okay, stop. Stop whatever you're doing.'' Liam stops in front of Alex, only a few feet away. I stay still as Alex wraps his arm around my waist, ''What the hell is going on here? Why is Athena here? What is she even doing here? A—and, what's going on with you being here instead of being at the lobby?''
Alex shrugs, ''I'm not playing.''
Liam's eyes widen in surprise, ''What the fuck? No, no. You're playing, you dummy. Can you please explain to me what's really going on? You guys can settle whatever it seems like making out at home, I mean, here, all the way to Brazil just for a make out session? And about Jon, what's wrong with him? Why did he accused me, that idiot.'' He seems like he has been completely lost from the very beginning—Alex has never even felt slightly annoyed by him, he's cool with it but sometimes, he tends to get angry. Like right now.
''Get over it.'' Alex replies.
''Get over it? Okay, look, I don't understand anything right now. What's going on actually? What's wrong with you two? What's wrong with Jon? I mean, what's wrong with me?'' He shakes his head, ''And why are you not playing? Can someone explain the whole situation?''
''J—just get out of here.'' Alex pushes him slightly, as a sign for him to get the hell out of here. He stares at us, confusingly before slowly heading out toward the other way. My lips curve up into a small smile and Alex seems to notice how I find this entertaining.
Alex pulls my body closer toward him once more, ''I'll kill him this time.'' He says and I let out a chuckle, knowing that he won't even dare to bruise Liam's face—but again, he did punch him when he find out that we've kissed... well, let's just forget about that right now and enjoy this memorable moment. It's not everyday that I get to stare endlessly into his blue eyes.
''So, what now?'' I ask, wanting to know where we're heading.
He smiles, ''This.'' And he pulls my finger before slowly sliding in the wedding ring. My eyes widen at his sudden gesture but immediately touch the wedding ring again. I totally forgot that I had taken it off earlier. ''No more running away from each other. Just you and me.'' He whispers softly into my ear.
I nod my head and wrap my arms around his warm body. I snuggle deeper; as soon as I feel him resting his chin on my head—how I've always wanted this moment. Now that I've had it, I don't want any of this to end. This is a perfect moment, a perfect moment to tell our—wait what?
Let's forget about that for awhile.
Alex entwine our fingers together as we walk toward the front door. I look up at him with a smile, ''Where to?'' I ask, pursuing my lips to the front.
He smirks, ''Home.'' And we both walk straight ahead, not even taking a second glance at what's behind because we're happy—satisfied, even, at the present. We might even be much more satisfied at our future too.
Who would have thought that the whole story about Alex's parents are no more available? We wouldn't. But everything's gone—with the help of Simon. He spilled the beans by telling me that; Alex was the one who suggested the whole idea of marriage. He did nothing but following the plan.
I guess we're both even.
Crossing my arms, I look straight at him, ''It wasn't only me, I guess.'' I say.
He quickly pulls my hand, ''I just did it because—'' He stops talking, breathing out, ''—because I didn't know what else I could do to—''
I cut him off, ''Nope, I'm not going to hear it. Whatever it is, save it for yourself. I just don't want to hear it. We both made a deal with someone and we've got things settled. I mean, only one of us. I haven't gotten my revenge yet on Joanna and you probably might have gotten what you always, wanted?'' I raise an eyebrow at the end.
He looks at me, hiding a smile, ''Yeah, I got you.'' And he rubs the back of his neck, chuckling, ''Are you sure you don't want to hear it? It could be interesting, who knows?''
''Nah, I'm fine with the fact that you were trying to win my heart. We're in good terms.'' I answer. I take a closer look at his face before pulling him into a bone-crushing hug, ''Thank you. Thank you for being there, thank you for taking care of me, thank you for everything. I don't know what would I do without you. You're my charm—'' I chuckle, ''—and I would always need you here. Always.''
I feel him running his fingers through my hair, ''And I need you too, always.''
