Athena's POV
''They are unused condoms.'' I say for the third time at Alex's nana. She is really cute, her short grey hair and chubby cheeks complimenting her short figure. I love how she blinks whenever she speaks, she's a very adorable person. Alex told me that she's nearly ninety.
''Are you sure, dear?'' Nana Carol touches my arm as she raises an eyebrow at me.
I laugh at her curiosity, ''Yes, nana I'm sure.''
''Are you really really sure?'' She asks once more. This time, I see Alex walking toward us after having a quick chat with his teammates—perhaps talking about practice.
''Yes nana, I am hundred percent sure they are unused.'' I chuckle when she touches my cheek, caressing them slowly.
''How can you be so sure?'' Her voice sounded a little bit shaky. I love having old people around because they are adorably cute. Especially when I see an old couple, I might end up staring at them. Oh, Alex told me his abuelo passed away five years ago.
Alex arrives beside his nana and he wrap and arm around nana's small figure. I furrow my eyebrows, thinking of an absolute great solution to answer he curiosity, ''Because they're tasteless?''
Nana Carol's eyes widen before letting out a low chuckle. Alex looks at us in confusion, ''What's tasteless, nana?''
''Oh dear, I was making sure about the condoms.'' Nana Carol respond.
Alex looks at me immediately, ''Nana, you don't need to know that.'' And he frown once more. I just stand awkwardly.
''Let's not make a habit, yes dear?'' Nana Carol ignores Alex as she turns toward me. I wanted to laugh at how stupid I was when I was younger for chewing condoms. But oh well, why not.
''Yes, nana Carol.'' I smile at her, giving her the assurance.
Alex's cousin stop beside Alex before grabbing onto her nana. Nana Carol smiles at me, ''Have fun, my dear.'' And I smile back at her as she walk toward the car.
I turn to face a frowning Alex, ''Why would she ask you about condoms?''
''She wanted to make sure if those condoms were unused.'' I reply before waving my hand at nana Carol who waves back at me. Then slowly, her chauffer starts to drive away.
''I'm pretty sure they're unused right? You told me at the bar.'' Alex tilt his head to look down at me—I shrug, leaving him clueless.
''I think. I'm not so sure myself.'' I joke and I see him cringe his nose in disgust, ''It would be more disgusting if you think that it belongs to my dad.''
''God, no.'' He shakes his head, removing the images forming in his head. I laugh at him as he narrow his eyes, glaring, ''You're such a—''
''Oh dear,'' My mom cuts him off and leave him speechless. Alex exhales before smiling at mom. I wanted to smirk at him but I turn to mom and pull her for a hug, ''Visit me anytime soon okay?'' She continues.
''Okay mom, don't worry.'' I mutter lightly.
''It's just, my baby girl has grown up and I'm losing her.'' She wipes away her tears again.
I shake my head, ''You're not losing me, mom. I'm here.'' And give her another hug, she hugs me back twice as tight. Then she pulls away from me to pull Alex in for a hug. I can see the surprised look on Alex's face but he quickly smile before hugging her back.
Mom whispers something into Alex's ear and I can see Alex nodding his head.
''Mom, what did you say?'' I ask her as she pull away.
''Nothing.'' She looks away, avoiding looking at me, ''Oh where is your father?'' And she starts to walk away toward the crowd. I shake my head, she would always run away after saying something secretive.
''What did she say?'' I raise an eyebrow at Alex.
Alex rubs the back of his neck, ''Let's go I'm tired.'' And he starts to walk away toward the car. I let out a groan before following his track. We walk toward his Lambo and he gets in quickly without waiting for me. I step in afterward, avoiding the previous question.
''This is your house?'' I push the front door open and I was surprised to see what's in front of me. Everything looks freaking unrealistic. The living room has a modern furnitures and I am hundred percent sure it has a modern design too. From outside, I was even more surprised to see Alex is living the dream. Oh well, he's a footballer.
''Yeah.'' He closes the door behind him.
Front door locked.
And he walks past me, into the dining room. I keep myself staring in awe. Clearly, the living room looks perfect. An LED TV hung on the wooden wall which has mirrors on top. There's a modern lamp on the side. There's also a leather sofa with two leather armchair. I can't describe how I think I'm in a movie right now.
I can see a glimpse of upstairs from here but it's not clear. I walk towards the dining room, walking up the small stairs. Alex is gone and I walk around, travelling around the kitchen, around the dining room. Last but not least, every way leads me back to the living room. I can't even describe how everything looks absolutely unrealistic.
''Alex.'' I call out his name.
Then suddenly he walks out from the sliding doors, ''What?'' He is now holding his vest, his three top buttons are already undone.
''Where do I sleep?''
''Well with me.'' He shrugs before walking up the stairs. I raise an eyebrow at him before following behind him. My eyes widen as I reach upstairs, god I'm too lazy to even describe everything but I swear, it's as perfect as downstairs.
''What do you mean with you?'' I cross my arms.
''Actually there's three rooms but I use one as my office and the other as my game room which leaves none behind but my bedroom.'' He opens the door to his bedroom. A low bed in the middle with white comforter and white duvet. The room has a walk-in closet right beside the bed.
''I don't want to sleep with you.'' I shake my head, pretending to be disgusted.
He chuckles, ''Well this is my house. I'm not sleeping on the couch, on the floor or even in the living room.'' Alex walk closer toward me, trying to make me step back but I stand strong, not even moving at all.
''I rather sleep on the couch, on the floor or even in the living room than sleeping with you, thank you.'' I smirk at him.
Alex smirks back, crossing his arms, mimicking my action, ''Whatever floats your boat.'' Then he walks in his bedroom, leaving me behind, ''Oh your stuff is in here.'' He says from inside.
I walk in his bedroom, seeing a burgundy luggage on his bed and four others on the floor. Alex has disappear into his walk-in closet, leaving me alone in his bedroom. I open the luggage before checking my stuff. I don't really want to know how he manage to take my underwear.
''Your mom packed it for you. She only bring your favourite clothes and stuff. The rest are still at your apartment, you can come and get it if you want to.'' I hear Alex say.
When I turn around, I see Alex walking out with a shirt and shorts. He looks at me for a second before walking out of his bedroom. I quickly lock the door before changing into my oversized shirt and thigh shorts. Then I pull my luggage to the side near his walk-in closet—hoping he won't mind.
I walk downstairs but there's no sign of Alex. I let out a sigh before looking at the living room. There's a white comforter with two pillows on the couch—did he put those there? I shrug unknowingly before walking toward the couch and sit down patting the pillows.
Noises come from the dining room and I turn around to see Alex walking out from the kitchen, holding a bottle of water. He takes a few gulps of water and I turn around immediately, ''God where's your shirt?!'' I shout before closing my eyes.
I hear him snort, ''I sleep shirtless, princess, got a problem with that?'' There's a slight sound of annoyed in his tone.
''Well since I'm here, you need to start changing that and put a shirt on.'' I say, still closing my eyes—my left hand covering my face. God he's body will distract my innocence and I don't want to risk that.
''Why does it bother you anyway?'' He chuckles, ''It's not that your a vir—'' He stops for awhile, ''Wait are you a virgin?'' I feel my cheeks heat up as I look down, biting my lower lip. Damn it.
''N—no I'm not.'' I stutter as I keep my head down.
I smell his scent nearing me and before I could react, he grip onto my wrist, causing me to open my eyes immediately. I look down at his toned chest and abs before closing my eyes immediately, ''For god's sake, cover up!'' I say a bit louder this time.
Alex laughs—to be honest—it's not that funny.
''No seriously, you're a virgin?'' He say through laughter.
''I'm not a virgin.'' I push him a bit but he doesn't move, not a slight bit.
''Oh oh, yes you are.'' I feel his finger poking at my cheek. I move my head sideways, growling lightly in annoyance, ''Come on, just admit it.''
''There's nothing wrong being a virgin!'' I spat out angrily, pushing him away and this time he let go of my wrists. I cross my arms, turning my body around so I won't be facing him, ''Fuck off, Alex.''
He chuckles this time, trying to cover his laughter, ''I can't believe you're a virgin. I mean, look at you!''
''What the hell?'' I raise an eyebrow, slowly looking at him. He has this amusement in his eyes and I just narrow my eyes at him.
''I mean, you swear a lot. Y—you...'' He rubs his chin, ''Well you just don't look like a virgin. I don't expect you to be a virgin anyway.''
My cheeks heat up again, causing me to cover it with both of my hands, ''Mind your own business.''
''I can't believe I married a virgin.'' He mutters under his breath which was loud enough for me to hear.
I groan, ''For fuck's sake, Alex!''
His eyes widen before laughing again, ''Okay okay, I'm sorry.'' My breathing calms down a little at his apology, ''Not.'' Well not exactly, ''Goodnight, little virgin.'' Alex starts to walk toward the stairs, closing some lights on his way.
I throw one pillow which hits his ankle but he just wink at me and laugh, ''Don't call me that!'' I shout. My voice was loud enough that I think it would shake the earth. His laughter became louder until it slowly disappears with a sound of the door closing.
He's a pain in the ass!
I let out a deep sigh before laying on the couch, pulling the comforter closer to my chin. Closing my eyes, I don't even bother to care about the surroundings around me. I let myself sleep without any disturbance.
I fall from the couch which causes me to open my eyes immediately. Eyeing my surroundings, I groan before using my elbows to lift myself up. I walk toward the kitchen, taking a glass of water. Taking a few sips on the water, I turn around to find Alex walking down the stairs, this time he isn't just shirtless but he is in his boxers instead of his shorts last night.
I almost choke on my water and he smirks at me once he caught me looking, ''Which part of covering up, do you not understand?'' I run my hand on my throat, rubbing it soothingly, calming myself from choking.
''What do you mean?'' He takes my glass as he smirk at me. He takes a few sips of the water before finishing it.
''God, you're hopeless.'' I mutter under my breath.
Alex stands up and I just look up at him when he leans in, close enough that I can feel our nose brushing, ''Am I testing your innocence, Athena?'' He whispers lightly, his breath on the bridge of my nose.
I gulp, not taking my chances to reply. Right on cue, he steps back, ''Did you have a great sleep?'' He asks.
I narrow my eyes at him—despite the fact that my back hurts and I fell from the couch, ''Yeah, the best.'' I fake a smile at him.
''Sure,'' He replies, his voice shows that he doesn't believe it for a tiny bit, ''You know, you can always come and sleep with me, I won't mind.'' Alex looks up at me, ''I won't touch you, if you know what I mean.'' And I immediately walk away, leaving him in laughter.
That devil. How can I stand it if he keeps on teasing me for the next six months?!
