"RING! RING!" I look at my phone and see that Karen is calling, Oh great what did I do now.
"What is it, sis?", I said impatiently.
"Jo, promise me that you will look after yourself and Ana", Karen sobbed.
"Karen what are you talking about!", I roared.
"Promise me, Jo! You will never leave Ana! Promise Me!", Karen bawled. I started to feel incredibly worried and scared about the fact that there might be something wrong with Karen.
"What's happening over there!" There was no answer, the line cut.
"Damn it!". I called her number again, no answer. I called her once more, but the same thing happened. Before I could call again, tears started rolling down my cheek and my chest having the feeling of it being crushed. What was happening there? What was Karen talking about? Someone could have attacked her or killed her!
My breath quickened and wiped the tears from my sleeves and called my parents. I explained what Karen said and what happened. I could hear my parents sob on the other end telling me that they knew people were disappearing in the town they visited. I dropped my phone in shock, shattering into pieces. I fell onto the ground and wept once more, but louder. How could my parents let my sister go with her family to a town filled awful mysteries? Just how? Don't they care about her? How could I look after my niece, Ana, and study as well?!
All this stress made me pass out, onto my couch feet becoming cold and stiff.
After that, I was never the same.
