"You two should settle your differences. You're like a cat and a dog everytime you see each other.", Old Jim lectured them while setting two mugs of hot chocolate in the table.
The flower shop is a quaint store, filled to the brim by different colors of vibrant beauty. The aroma they produce gives you a myriad of feelings, happy and energetic.
"I'm Old Jim.", he held out his hand to Avery who continue to pout in her seat.
"I'm Avery.", she took his hand and shook it. His grip was warm and firm.
"Now, you might think that I'm a nosy old man but this is the second time that you dragged yourselves to embarassment. Rather splendidly I may add. You are at each other's necks everytime I see you."
Both of them remained sullenly silent, refusing to look each other in the eye like silly children.
" Thank you for saving us out there but I refuse to acknowledge the presence of this slut. He has no merit in my eyes." Avery retorted.
" What's your beef with me? The problem with you is you're so uptight you don't know how to chill. Loosen up will you? You're such a tightwad!", Ethan irritatedly retorted while holding an ice pack against his wounds. Damn! His face is going to swell big time. This woman is really something else, Ethan thought while observing her under his lashes.
She's a classic beauty who becomes more beautiful the longer you look at her. Her eyes are so expressive he could drown in them and her lips is so tempting he wants to crush them till they lose breath. Remembering her luscious body on top of him earlier makes him want to explore unchartered territories.
Damn! He needs to hold his horses. He can't explain the pull this woman have on him but everytime he sees her, all he want is to bully her till she flushed red.
Avery looked at the ceiling and puffed air out to rein in her temper.
"Look, let's just keep distance from one another ok? That way we keep our peace of minds."
"It's not like I want to meet you each time. Seems like fate is drawing us together huh? Or maybe, you planned to see me and then acted out like it was coincidental.", Ethan smirked. He wanted to see more of her face flushed in anger, deciding that he wants a deeper connection with Avery. No woman has ever captured his interest even if he is branded as a playboy. They didn't start well but he is tenacious with what he really wants. The lady wouldn't know what hit her.
Old Jim watched the two trade barbs with weary eyes. These two souls are treading a very thin line and he prays that history doesn't repeat in this life. This two deserve happiness this time. He has to ensure it if only to make up for past mistakes and regrets.
