Our country was a snowy one. It was as though Fall and Winter ruled it, allowing summer and spring to visit once in awhile. Snow was a normal everyday thing, but the color of the leaves never failed to change during autumn.
It was the second week of school and it was time to pick a club. Clubs were mandatory for seniors. The academy made it necessary for us students to join the clubs in the sister university as experience and an introduction to a lifestyle of a university student. I decided that I'd be apart of the film club since there wasn't a photography club.
I walked into the auditorium. It was empty with nothing but the lights lit on the stage.
Then a soothing voice came onto the speaker," Ah, yes, and the adventurer had journeyed far and beyond into the dark cave, to meet a fairy."
Like the narrator said, a fairy dressed in white, rose up from the stage.
"Kyuro, I am pleased you've made it this far. You must be exhausted. Please, come and rest. You have earned the merits of the work you've done," said the fairy.
And a young man with black hair walked onto the stage," My God is dead and yet you stand here in the name of my God as though you have the right to sit on the throne," the black haired adventurer grumbled in anger.
And the fairy giggled," Hehe, oh Kyuro. My dearest Kyuro. You are my mutt. If it is a punishment you want. I shall grant your wishes. After all, it was always your fault. Why Saeo ever pitied a mutt like you, I will never understand. Ah, but those eyes. I love it when the eyes of the scums crawling on their bellies burn as though they have fight in a battle they've already lost."
I was captivated by their voices, their acting.
It was enchanting.
The narrator spoke up,"Okay! That sounded great-"
"Jason! You need more umph! More anger! Come on man!" said another voice.
"Now, now. He did fine," said the narrator.
"Hmph, it's not good enough to be just 'fine'," said the other voice.
"Guys, look, someone came to check us out," said the fairy.
"Since club is almost over, can we leave now?" said the adventurer. He pulled the black hair off of his red head.
"That was a wig?!" I blurted out loud.
Oops.
"Pfahaha, that's the first thing you say?," laughed the red head," I'm Jason."
Jason held out his hand," And you are?"
"I'm Julia," I said.
"Hi Julia, I'm Denise," said the fairy," We're rehearsing for our filmed series. It's an adaptation of our senior's story. You might have never heard of it before. It's pretty new. It's called Redwine Lips-"
"Redwine Lips?! You mean the short story arc of the Regia series?!"I exclaimed.
"Y-yeah, how'd you know? Are you a fan?" she asked.
"Yes! I am! I love the Regia series!" I squealed.
"So you're the one I've heard so much about," said the voice behind me.
I turned around and saw a familiar face," J-jayden? You're here..?"
"Yeah, where else would I be?" he said annoyed.
"Jayden, what's up with you, you jealous?" the narrator asked and turned to me," Hi Julia, I'm Alina. Jayden told me you're a big fan of the Regia series," she smiled.
"She's the friend I told you about. The one who wrote Regia," Jayden said.
My jaw dropped. I was so shocked.
"Jason, you need to practice your lines some more!" said voice number two from before.
"This is Natalie," Jason pointed to the brunette.
"Hm? Are you here to sign up? We need more actors and crewmates," Natalie said.
"Um, sure. I was hoping if I could also learning and help with the filming. I'm pretty experienced with cameras and video footage," I said.
"Nice! Usually, Jayden is the one who films and helps us direct, but having another tech savvy is awesome! You're hired!" Alina chimed in.
"Alright, it's getting late. Don't forget the new schedule! Four P.M. every Wednesday to Friday and twelve P.M. On Saturday and Sundays!" Alina yelled out.
I walked out from the entrance and pressed the buttons on the vending machine just outside.
"What are you doing?"I asked Jayden.
"Waiting for you," he said.
"Why?" I asked.
"So we can go home,"he said," We live in the same house and it's dangerous for a girl to walk by herself at night."
He has a point.
But.
This feels so awkward.
"We've never walked home together before. And the 'home' we're going to is still so unfamiliar. It feels so strange that we're in this situation," I said.
"Does it make you uncomfortable?" he asked me.
" It does. For all my life, the only house I've ever known was the home I grew up in. It's kinda weird that I'm alone in the house with you," I said as my bag of chips thunked to the bottom of the machine.
"Well, you probably just don't remember that you did grow up in that house," he looked away and whispered," ..with me."
I picked up my chips and we continued on our path to the bus.
"Wanna wait for the bus or grab something on the way home?" he asked me.
"Didn't you already buy a whole bunch of food?" I asked him.
"Right.. Well, I guess home it is then," he said disappointed.
We got onto the empty bus. It was already dark out. The bus welcomed us with warmth as rain began to pitter patter on the windows.
Jayden placed a bud in his ear and closed his eyes. I wonder what he's listening to.
"Wanna listen?" he asked, noticing my eyes directed at him.
"Nah, I'm good," I said.
He pouted,"It's Shuuya-"
"Okay!" I beamed.
He brushed my hair behind my ear and placed the bud in my right ear.
"It's an unofficial," he said.
" What. No way. What the heck. Is this how it feels like to have privileges?" I said as my eyes shone.
He laughed at me," Yeah, this is YOUR priviledge. Unlike you, I have the rights."
He's teasing me again. But I won't say anything this time since he's letting me listen to Shuuya.
