Chapter 1 - Day 1 Year 19XX

The motherland's snow hits my face as if it was weighed down by an anchor. Every breath I take gives my spine a chill. I continue to walk, but alone. The rifle hanging from my neck starts to become a burden, my mind starting to lose itself, I discard the extra baggage. My comrades are no more. The beauty of winter has swept them into that eternal sleep. I drifted off from a battle where many soldiers on our side were lost. Stalingrad was a blood bath. Carpets of red covered the snow, displaying a horrific sight that we payed no attention to, we only continued charging. Command gave us coordinates to a stronghold that was scouted out to have German soldiers in it. Nothing in sight, I kept my steady pace through the snow. Pain, all I feel is pain rushing through my arm. I may have been shot from those Nazis. My blood coats my arm, but frost starts to numb my arm, stopping the blood flow from the entry wound. It's hazy, I can't push forth to my objective. I need to find warmth.

" Who's there?"

I'm starting to hear the sounds of snow being smushed. A cave entrance is on sight, so I waddle the best I could to it. The sound of Germans talking start to grow louder, I mustn't waste time. I enter the cave without a second thought. I collapse to my knees, but I knew I wasn't safe. I crawled, I crawled, I crawled, warmth started to overflow me. It was a warmth I was familiar with. Antrea, my home town, I was next to my fireplace with my Kvas. It was the same day I have received my letter of deployment from the red army.

" A human?! They're supposedly on a different continent!" an unknown female voice echos.

" I can't leave this helpless creature to die in cave. " the voice approaches as my consciousness fades.
