Turning his gaze back to his phone, Vince's eyes were full of admiration to the creator. Who would've known that the creator would be so knowledgeable about routers to the point that it even changed his point of view towards the item.
While it is indeed true that Vince isn't knowledgeable in that area, his knowledge was sufficient enough to discern whether it is a good product or a bad one.
"Now all we need to do is make an app that would become a medium for people to deposit load onto the sim cards and make those load machines that we always see on convenience stores... However, my knowledge regarding that area is insufficient, so I would need to call a couple of my contacts..." Vince murmured.
Aside from being a professional e-sports player, he also had many connections around the globe due to his father owning many companies. Thus, although he wasn't really in the business scene, his father still gave him a lot of contacts if he were to need help sometime in the future.
"I don't know what you're saying, but since you said it, it's sure to become big in the future. Now come on, let's test it out!" Justin said in a hurried manner as he immediately came back to his table.
"Alright." While he had already tested it all out via a speed test app, an app wouldn't really give him much more accurate results than playing on the game itself, "Let's start with League of Legends using our smurf accounts so that we could head straight to the next game."
"Why smurf accounts? That would be no challenge for us at all!" Displease, Justin didn't hold back with his opinion at all.
Smurf accounts, in short, are alternate accounts that players use to gain the satisfaction of being good at the game. While playing on a smurf account is basically cheating, it could also serve as a type of training for lower-ranking players; to make them realize what players in higher ranks really are. But those are all just utter nonsense to help them cope with their loss.
"We'll play in that super chinese server, I heard that the server boasts about their players being only top-tier." As much as he wanted to, Vince couldn't make his teammates play on their smurf accounts, even if he held them at gunpoint. However, he already had a solution to this, to play in that chinese server that has all the top-tier players.
He had played in that server before, and in his honest opinion, it wasn't really all that great. The players he met were indeed better than their own NA server, but their skills were only above that of players in the NA server. Putting his teammates' skill on the equation, it will still be the same as playing in the NA server.
"Oh? Why haven't I heard of that server before? Are players there really up to par?" Justin asked skeptically. While he had indeed played in other servers before, the super chinese server that Vincent spoke of was completely foreign to him.
"Yes. In that server, no players under Diamond rank are allowed to enter. Only players above that rank are eligible to enter that server. However, even if you are at the pinnacle of Diamond rank, the players are still nigh impossible to defeat." Of course, Vince was just bluffing. Even though League of Legends is a team-based game, with his leadership, he could end a match within fifteen minutes.
"Interesting. Let's give it a go!" Then, Justin turned to look at the other two who were dozing around and invited them as well.
...
After helping the three set up and gave them smurf accounts, they entered a game.
While it is a new server, nothing really changed; it has the same game mechanics as other servers. However, one thing that changed is the difficulty of the overall game. In normal matchmaking, players were pitted against other players of the same rank, but in this server, even though the teams were of the same rank, they play on a completely different level compared to different servers.
Nevertheless, the four guys remained calm as they waited on the loading screen. Truthfully, they were all excited as to what this supposedly 'super' server would bring to them, except for Vince of course.
As their champions began spawning in the base, they patiently waited as each of them scooped a mouthful of egg fried rice. One could even faintly hear the sound of moaning.
Since they were just playing on a smurf account, they didn't need to go serious and pick the best of the best team compositions. They all went their own way and picked some random champions that they were at least somewhat good at.
Vincent chose Vayne, The Night Hunter. A champion who specializes in damage and long-range attacks. She wore a tight purple bodysuit that fully accentuated her alluring figure. On her right arm was a wristbolt launcher and covering her eyes were red night-vision goggles, which fully suited her epithet as the night hunter.
As time passed, their opponents revealed themselves. Jinx and her support, Leona. The former was the ADC of their team who specializes in burst damage and high attack speed, while the latter specializes in being a tank and crowd control.
The duo in the bottom lane waited for a few seconds before the enemy team minions and theirs collided in the center of the bottom lane. The three swordsmen at the front began slashing their swords and the three mages at the back began casting spells. If it were in first person, it would truly be a majestic view.
Nevertheless, the duo patiently waited for the enemy minions' health to wither down so that Vince could kill them in one hit, which is otherwise known as last-hitting.
Vince quickly killed the six minions of the enemy team consecutively, however, in exchange, the enemy team Jinx shot him a couple shots, taking a chunk of his health. However, his health quickly went back to full when the other wave of minions arrive.
After the fifth wave of minions was quickly killed, Vince went back to base and bought a few items before returning back to bottom lane. Subsequently, after returning back to lane, his support, Morgana, recalled back to base with his excuse being the same.
Vince bought a Bilgewater Cutlass that, when activated, will deal 100 damage to the enemy and would slow them down by 25% for 2 seconds. Additionally, he also bought boots which significantly boosted his champion's movement speed. Furthermore, after he last-hitted a minion while his tower was under siege, he leveled up to level six, which enabled him to use his ultimate skill, 'Heavy Crossbow'.
Aside from the wristbolt launcher on her arm, Vayne also had a large and heavy crossbow behind her back.
As Vince was leisurely last hitting the minions behind the tower so that his minions could also push, he saw a figure on the corner of his eyes that quickly blended in with its surroundings. Naturally, he also noticed that his opponents started getting aggressive, these are signs that pointed to him getting ganked.
Quickly changing the view of his screen, he saw that his support was in the middle between the two towers. The distance between the two towers was not really long per se, but a difference between his support reaching a millisecond late would be crucial to his survival.
As expected, once all of his minions were killed, a figure reminiscent of a mantis suddenly jumped from behind him – Kha'Zix. To seal all his methods of escaping, Jinx and Leona also rushed in and helped using their skills. Leona used Zenith Blade and a projected image of her sword rushed up to Vayne in blinding speeds.
Subsequently, Jinx also used her W, which is called Zap! A skill that when landed on to a target, will slow the enemy target and would also deal a substantial amount of damage. With all three enemies already giving him a death sentence, one would already be in the buy menu choosing what items one would buy next.
However, something unexpected happened.
Vince used his ultimate skill and immediately used his Q – which made him invisible when used together with his R – and made him tumble towards Jinx's Zap! The Jinx player chuckled for a brief moment, thinking that the enemy Vayne would wholeheartedly accept her death, however, what he didn't expect was that the Morgana would react immediately and give Vayne her E, Black Shield. A skill that not only absorbs magical damage but would also null any and all crowd control!
The Jinx's two teammates also didn't expect this kind of revelation to happen. Nevertheless, the trio gained their composure and didn't stop their attack. After transferring the tower aggro to Leona and after Kha'Zix landed from his leap, the three continued to chase their two enemies down.
Naturally, Vince and his random teammate wouldn't take this insult lying down. Since his Ultimate Skill was still in effect, he began kiting the closest enemy, Kha'Zix. Since not only would he gain a substantial amount of damage boost when using his Ultimate Skill he would also gain movement speed boost from his passive skill when combined with his R, so kiting is the best way for him to win the battle.
Kha'Zix's health began dwindling down until it reached 25%, that was when Kha'Zix retreated. However, Vince wasn't going to let his enemy escape from his eyes. Kha'Zix leaped from the second tower of the bottom lane towards the enemy Jungle. Subsequently, Vince used flashed and followed suit; it didn't take long for the Kha'Zix to die before Vince targeted another enemy, Jinx.
You have slain an enemy.
The current him couldn't do any substantial damage to Leona, but he could kill Jinx easily due to his Bilgewater Cutlass and Doran's Blade. With the high movement speed he gained from his boots, his passive, Night Hunter, and the added bonus movement speed from his Ultimate, he quickly catched up to the Jinx.
With Morgana holding Leona down with her Q, Vince tumbled in an awkward angle and pressed his E, which fires a huge bolt towards her target. Since his motive was to incapacitate Jinx, he was naturally aware of what was behind Jinx, a wall! While his E would indeed knockback a target, if there wasn't a wall behind said target, it would only help his target rather than benefit him.
As expected, once his E landed on Jinx, Jinx was knock backed and collided against the wall, literally stunning her. Before he begins attacking, Vince checked back on the Leona, who by now has lost 20% of her health. Surprisingly, after Morgana's bind has lost its effect, Leona immediately flashed, filling the gaps between him and her.
After flashing, Leona immediately used her E, Zenith Blade, and a projected image of her sword came rushing at him again. Having high reflexes and a fast reaction, Vince dodged her sword and began attacking Jinx as fast as he could.
Meanwhile, Morgana threw another Q towards Leona, which eventually landed, thus binding her in her place, biding time for Vayne to kill Jinx.
Double Kill!
Finishing Jinx, Vince immediately switched targets and targeted his last enemy, Leona. With the help of Morgana, the two eventually killed her.
Triple Kill!
Seeing that all of the enemies were dead, Vince quickly took a spoonful of egg fried rice and placed it on his mouth. "Mmmmm."
However, he felt something was amiss, "Aren't we here to test the router?"
"We are," Justin replied, taking another spoonful of egg fried rice from his almost empty bowl.
"So how is it? I faced three enemies and I felt that the difference was too huge compared to our normal internet back at the gaming house." Vincent replied. Truthfully, he too was surprised at how well the router worked with just a sim and a source of power.
"I have the same opinion as you. Can't you see the announcer announcing all the kills? Oh, pfffttt!" By now, Justin was looking at his screen, "Their top laner just raged quit! Even accusing me of using scripts! HAHAHA!"
While those types of accusations weren't rare, Justin still has a good laugh whenever he sees them.
"Yo, yo, look at the screen!" Justin quickly said.
[BestTopPlayerCH has left the game.]
[MyNameIsJeff has left the game.]
"Aren't those... Aren't those players the top laner and their jungler? Why would they quit so early?" Vincent turned to look at Justin with a confused look.
"Just look at my score and you would know." Justin replied with a huge grin on his face.]
Vincent nodded and pressed the tab button, "How long has it been since the game started? Twelve, no, eleven minutes? How the heck did you get a kill count of 13!?"
"Uhh... Their Jungler kept visiting Top Lane and their Top Laner seems to be too aggressive in his playstyle when they were both around each other, so I killed them, easy as that!" Justin remarked with a proud face.
"Aggressive... Aggressive... Aren't those the play style of the Top Laner and Jungler of the Pro E-Sports team Cerberus?" Vince muttered for a moment before he turned to look at Justin again, but this time, with bloodshot eyes.
"I guess... But if they really are the pros that you said, why are they in the Diamond rank?"
"What do you mean Diamond! The smurf accounts I lent you were Challenger!"
Josiah and Azrael turned to look at the duo who were arguing with confused faces and meekly asked, "This is... Challenger...?"
Obviously, they couldn't bother to look at the ranks of their accounts. Ranks were just titles, skills were the truest way to see what rank their enemy truly is, and obviously, they regard them as only Diamond at most.
