Chereads / The Wandering Immortal / Chapter 4 - Busy day

Chapter 4 - Busy day

Morning arrived, the sun shined through the window and landed on Apollo, waking him up from sleep.

He rubbed his eyes and continued to do his morning routine, brushed his teeth, take a shower, and eat breakfast prepared by Cristine.

After finishing his shower and changing to a new set of clothes, he walked out of the guest room and was greeted by the same thing every day.

Liam is drinking tea and facing the window, Anne watching tv, and Cristine cooking breakfast. Apollo plans to break the news of him moving later in the afternoon, but he doesn't know how.

He sat on the chair on the right side of Liam to not block his view of the crops. They said good morning to each other and stayed quiet, enjoying the morning as they gazed into the distance.

They finished dinner quite quickly, Liam went outside to take care of his crops, Cristine takes care of Anne while reading a book, and Apollo just sat at the dinner table, facing the window.

It's still early in the morning, and he doesn't really want to move to the new house right now and just wants to enjoy his stay here.

Although he's moving, he will still frequently visit them to check up on how things are.

...

It's already 12:30 pm, and they finished lunched earlier, Apollo already talked to them about his leave, although Liam and his family felt that something went missing in their hearts, they accepted his decision and would welcome him wholeheartedly if he decides to visit.

Apollo didn't want to pack up the dirty clothes, so he told Atlas to clean them. He hung the clothes in the wooden closet so that if he decides to stay overnight, he doesn't need to bring clothes.

After he was done, he went out of the room and apologized for leaving so suddenly.

When he did what he needed, he walked out of the door. Looking back at the house, he saw Liam with his wife beside him and Anne, who was tearing up in front of them.

"Visit us often, big brother!" Anne shouted as she began crying while hugging her mother's leg.

They watched as his figure began to fade.

...

He slowly walked to enjoy the scenery but ran at the speed of light when he remembered that Sophia was waiting for the payment.

While running, he bought a phone from Atlas which came with a sim that could send a text or make a phone call free of charge.

He first needed to go to the bank to open an account so that he could transfer cash easily.

The process was fast and straightforward so he immediately got an account that could only hold $500,000 max at the moment. He then deposited $100,000 so that he could pay for the house.

He downloaded the app and hurriedly ran towards the direction of where the house is.

When he arrived, Sophia is already sitting on the couch, annoyed that he made her wait for 30 minutes with no prior notice.

He knocked on the door and went inside; he sat awkwardly on the right side of the grey chair.

Sophia wore her casual outfit, denim jeans, and a white shirt; Apollo did the same with plain black jeans and a white shirt.

The room was silent; only the sound of nature could be faintly heard from the outside. Apollo broke the silence and began to talk, "So... how do I pay? Do I pay to you or the owners?"

Sophia massaged her head in annoyance, she is obviously irritated, but she still kept her composure, "You can directly pay us, you decide whether to pay every year for a certain amount of time or pay in full."

"How much is it again?" Apollo asked.

"$76,000."

Apollo took out his phone from his right pocket and opened the bank app; he handed it over to Sophia, "Just transfer it and give it to me when you're done."

He got up from his seat and left the confused Sophia.

Sophia transferred the exact amount to her agency's private card and handed it over to Apollo, who was checking the kitchen, she then left after that.

Just a 10 minute ride away, Mt. Tsuki, he thought about this for a long time ever since he saw that mountain. If he could grow ingredients that are 1/10th of the flavor of Atlas' godly ingredients, he doesn't need to waste points anymore.

The mountain is relatively large, but its only use at the moment is for renting, beginner hikers rent the mountain for experience, but wild animals are frequently seen in the area, so it's currently out of order.

He's buying the mountain to use it so that he could grow ingredients, if there are godly ingredients in Atlas' store, there would surely be godly soil, godly water, and divine seeds to use for farming.

...

He planned to renovate the house, so he called for an architect who used to be classmates with Cristine. Cristine listed people in her contacts who she deemed to be useful for Apollo and secretly placed it on his jeans, which surprised him. 'A mother knows what's needed so that her son could achieve success.' He thought.

The architect plans to come to the location he sent him and will discuss what to do by then.

After he hung up the call, he went outside and locked the door, what he wants to do now is to upgrade his account. $500,000 may sound high to regular people, but it wouldn't even reach a quarter of a mountain's price.

He went to the bank and called the superior in which the employee obliged on doing.

Apollo is led to a room with soundproofed walls. A middle-aged man pointed at the seat opposite of him to ask Apollo to sit down.

He sat down on the chair and bluntly asked, "So, Mr. Apollo, what do you want to discuss today?"

Apollo replied with an indifferent manner, "I want to upgrade my account, I need to make a large deposit, but just $500,000 isn't enough to buy what I needed."

The middle-aged man felt something fishy, but these types of people come in every day so it's normal. "Just how much... are you planning to deposit...?"

Apollo replied straightforwardly, "1 billion if possible."

The middle-aged man took a gasp of air, "Y-you... you aren't doing some shady business, are you?"

Apollo didn't mind his reaction; it's completely normal to react like that in a bystander's perspective, "I plan to buy Mt. Tsuki, but the limit is in the way of my plan of buying it."

The man scratched his head as he embarrassingly replied, "1 Billion isn't possible for now, Mr. Apollo, but-"

Apollo quickly stopped him, "It doesn't matter, just set my limit to whatever the highest one available."

"O-okay, do you... plan to deposit the money now?"

Apollo waved his hands as stacks of cash-filled the room that was empty except for them. He doesn't like money, but it does things fast, so it's still useful to him, so he sternly added, "Count the money for me, and don't even dare to pocket the money."

"Y-yes." The middle-aged man then called for people to take the money away.

...

Apollo went back to his house to meet up with James, who is the architect he called earlier.

As he reached his house, he saw a man smoking outside, waiting for someone.

He walked towards the man to asked him, but the man walked up to him, the man asked, "Are you Apollo?"

"Yes, let's go in."

He unlocked the door and walked in, "What do you want to drink?" Apollo asked.

"Just water."

Apollo nodded and walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of water and went back not long after to sit down on the couch after he placed the glass in front of James.

After James took a sip, he asked, "So, what do you want to change about this house? It looks like it's newly renovated, why do you want to change it?"

Apollo doesn't want to beat around the bush, so he answered straightforwardly, "I want to make the front of the house a restaurant, so the wall should be tear down and replaced by a stone or marble table."

James thought for a bit and replied, "I see what you're getting at, but what about the inside? Do you want to take all the furniture out and replace it with tables and chairs?"

"No, I don't want to make the entire ground floor the restaurant, just the front."

"An outdoor restaurant it is. What about the building materials, table, and chairs?

"You choose what you think is best; I don't care about the price; just get it done quick."

...

They discussed for a bit and agreed with what James planned, Apollo would pay a downpayment and would pay the rest when the construction is finished.

After Apollo was done, he went out and locked the door; he planned to visit the person who owns Mt. Tsuki to negotiate with him.

The money he deposited personally from the bank had already been sent to his account; his balance now is over $10m.

After walking for a bit, he arrived at a place with dense trees, not far from where he was was a wire fence with a few guards roaming the area.

He walked towards a guard who was sleeping on a chair with his hat covering his face and asked, "Do you know who the owner is?"

The guard woke up at the sound and replied lazily, "The Mt. is out of order, sir."

Apollo stopped bothering him because he won't even get information; he took out his phone and searched the owner of this mountain.

The mountain isn't really that special, he wants it so that he could grow ingredients for his restaurant, he could grow it in Liam's land, but it would be a bother to disturb them.

He quickly found the owner of this mountain; the owner is a local tycoon who owns several businesses in the area, the surprising thing is, he also owns the company that wants to buy Liam's land.

...

Apollo went to the main branch of his; his business is basically a hotel/restaurant for rich people, the profit he gets from the mountain is pocket money compared to the profit he gains from his hotel business.

He arrived there quite quickly, he went to the desk and asked for the owner but was denied.

"Sorry sir, the boss is busy right now, leave your contact details and I'll try to send it to the boss." The guy is being respectful; he knows people who come here are wealthy people so he already imprinted it to his mind to not judge people from their outfits.

"It's important."

Just as he finished saying that, a middle-aged man in a brown suit came down, "What's the matter?"

The employee panicked; he walked timidly towards the middle-aged man and whispered something in his ear. The middle-aged man just nodded and walked towards Apollo. He didn't act rude nor arrogant, just neutral to everybody. It's clear that he's a good boss, but he's also a cunning businessman. "My employee said you need to discuss business? Follow me."

"Mm." Apollo nodded and followed him.

The man led him to the top-most floor, they went inside a huge room, and the man invited him to sit down on a chair in front of a large coffee table in the middle of the room. "May I know this young man's name?"

"I'm Apollo. I won't beat around the bush; I want to buy Mount Tsuki."

The man was thrown off for a second but regained his composure back, "Oh?" he relaxed and began to listen.

"So, how much?"

The middle-aged man, Tom, thought for a bit, then a slight smile grew on the tip of his lips, "Have you thought about renting it?"

Apollo shook his head, "Just tell me the price."

"$10,000,000."

"Deal."

...

They finished discussing, and Tom sent Apollo out, although he wanted to have a chat for a bit, Apollo didn't.

Apollo also brought out Liam's issue about his land, Tom wanted to have that piece of land, but he thought that being close with Apollo is more important for the time being, so he didn't pursue it and called someone to stop annoying the Miller family.
