Wraith slowly peeked his head around the corner, all he could see was the first floor of the retirement home, apart from a knocked over corridor chair it looked fine. "Do you hear that?" He said.
Inspector Lomax was behind him and looked up to the ceiling. "It's a couple of floors above us. Could be going for the roof?"
Peggy didn't feel too good at all. She knew quite well she had been eating people. She could hear them inside her screaming to get out. But she had this weird feeling inside her; she needed life she needed to taste it. She also needed fresh air she needed to get to the roof. She felt the voices might take over.
Each of them was hungry for life like she was. But she had to be strong this was her body, her life and she wanted more of it. But first, first she needed to breathe some clean fresh air.
She needed to gather her thoughts.
Inspector Lomax ran her hand across the smashed fire exit door. It's definitely heading for the roof. From behind her, people started to come out of their flats. One old man spoke. "Are you the police?"
Inspector Lomax raised a hand. "Yes, but please go back indoors we are dealing with the problem." "Thank you." The old man slowly shut the door whispering: bloody kids, I knew it! Drugs, always bloody drugs round here.
They both quietly went up the stairs. "Wraith." Inspector Lomax said shyly.
Wraith gave a nod. "I know we're on the 7th floor. Go find your mother, I'll keep following this thing."
Inspector Lomax didn't look back as she rushed down the corridor. "Thank you!" She called out.
Wraith took a deep breath and slowly walked up the stairs, he could see above him the smashed door that lead to the roof. He had no clue what he would do once he faced the creature.
Slowly, he peeked and saw the monster. It looked to him like an overweight tyrannosaurus rex. It looked confused and was talking to itself.
"No Darren, you cannot come out. It's my body remember? The one you killed.
"I don't care if you're a SWAT Team police officer this is my body, can you all be quiet?
"I'm hungry, I need to grow, I'm Peggy Underhill.
"I need..."
Peggy turned her now hulking head towards Wraith and greedily growled:
"Life."
