"Look at that girl, bro. She's drinking some sort of magical juice. What a weird fetish. No wonder they're siblings."
I balled my fist but Martin calmly looked at me - warning me not to make a scene. I bit my lower lip and enjoyed sipping what he called my 'magical juice'. Huh.
"You, okay?"
I nodded and finished my drink. If only I could touch that bully and do something to him he wouldn't forget.
"Elle, this is your new life, okay? " he whispered with a hint of worry. I'm not even complaining why I ended up like this. What I hate is that I couldn't remember my past. Any bit of it. My dad told me it was a rare case. He asked his friends but nobody could explain why.
"Martin, I already told you I'm okay being like this. I just can't accept the fact that I don't even know my real name. My own identity. I'm Gabrielle Fox. But who was the girl before me?"
He sadly smiled at me and fixed my crunched eyebrows. "If only I know."
"Dad told me it was from a car accident not far from here. If I'll start digging, will I find any answer?"
From the very start, everyone told me not to look for answers. I might get hurt. From what? From who? Why? Those are the constant questions that kept running on my head. No one could give me an answer. I feel like I'm a blank book.
"Elle, don't. Aren't you happy with us? Can't you just move on and live as the new you?"
I stared at the window and watched the guys who were playing at the football field when someone caught my eye. Tall, hazel-brown hair and a boy-next-door smile painted on his lips.
I suddenly felt heat around my heart. That's impossible. Then suddenly my breathing suddenly hitched. What's happening? This is the first time I felt this.
"Hey, what's wrong? Elle?"
His voice is becoming inaudible as second passes by. I looked at him with fear.
"It hurts."
Those are the only words that escaped my mouth and everything around me suddenly turned black.
