Synopsis
Words are everything, from the way we interact to the way we remember history. Words are simple, yet complex, but carry more emotion than anything else in the world. Why? Because everyone has the ability to use words to their advantage, and in some cases, to their demise. Now, imagine a world where words not only do that, but they grant you super human abilities. When someone is born, a word will activate a ability that allows them to summon unknown powers. Such as "Strength" granting immeasurable strength, "Flight" allowing you to fly, "Dog" allowing you to summon a dog. Now, imagine if the words granted to a person determined everything. Their status in life decided by birth. What then?

Chapter 1 - Hope

"It's simple really, words determine everything, from the way we live to the way we die. People will remember your face, but they will never forget your words. So in life, picking your word is everything."

There was a long silence as the classroom processed what was spoken.

"Um Mrs. Atti!" A blonde little boy in the front raised his hand.

"Yes Arthur?" She asked with a smile.

Arthur thumbed his palm as the entire classroom turned to him.

"How will we um. Like, know what word we will choose?"

Mrs. Atti slightly chuckled as she saw the young boy struggle.

"Well sweetie, there is something wrong with the way you said that." Mrs. Atti sauntered over to his desk, Arthur gulping in anxiety.

"See Arthur, we don't choose the words, they choose us. When we say the word in the most purest form, it will forever be attached to our souls."

"Oooooooooooo" the entire class was in awe, their second grade teacher glowing with life.

Mrs. Atti removed her glasses as she spoke a single word, "Glow."

Just like that, an ambient bright light began to bounce off her skin like a star. The entire class squinted at she spun around, the once dull setting turned to a hue of white.

"Amazing..." Arthur said as he saw the power right before his eyes.

Mrs. Atti grinned wide again, the light beginning to fade away as her glasses were put back on, "Now Arthur, what word would you like if you could pick, I think this will help your understand better."

Arthur went blank, his minding wondering as the question sparked his imagination. In his head, he thought of his Father standing in the doorway, his eyes sparkling with determination. That was the day he died.

"I want EXPLOSSIONN like my dad!" Arthur said with the utmost enthusiasm.

Mrs. Atti giggled, "I guess you want to be a Scribe then."

A Scribe, a term used to describe those who were allowed to use their words without restriction, a kind of role only the strongest could play. A Scribe was a superhero, and to be one, you had to have determination and heart. Something Arthur's dad seem to radiate at every waking hour.

The boy nodded, "Yeah! I wanna be a Scribe to save people in trouble."

Mrs. Atti patted Arthur on his head, scruffing his long yellow locks.

"Then make sure you pick some greats words. The world is waiting to here your speech Arthur."

He nodded as she walked back to the front. His eyes shining with hope, hope that would never waver.

Only if he knew what would befall his destiny. Only if I knew what word would choose me.

Only if I knew...

Only if...
