The story of Ayakashi (Supernatural Animal) was popular in the Heian period (794 AD - 1185) in Japan until the beginning of the first modern era in Japan, after the end of the the Tokugawa shogunate which began in Meiji Era (1867-1912).
However, during the Showa Era (1926-1989), when modernization is growing fast in Japan, folktales stories start to faded from society.
This story is only a part of folktales from the corner of certain downtown area.
