Zoey had found a few discrepancies in Sky.
She had looked like an orange-haired panda with dark marks under her eyes. While looking like the hunchback of Notre Dam.
Sitting at a computer for long periods of time does that to you. But do people care? No. No they do not.
Neither do I! I'm walking with a cane when I'm twenty! Who's with me!
Ahem.
Anyways, Zoey spent a good two weeks in front of said computers. Living off of sweet, sweet caffeine.
While everyone else followed the same cycle that Zoey ordered them to stick to or have her foot shoved up their ass. Stone was willing for such a thing to happen but the others not so much.
The cycle was train, learn, eat, sleep. Train, learn, eat, sleep. Train, learn, eat, sleep.
The 'occasional' bathroom break and 'shower'. Which was just five minutes in portable toilets and then scrubbing themselves with soap before being blasted with a hose.
It was honestly torturing. No exaggeration, Zoey incorporated some Deadpool type of crap.
Two weeks and they were all on the brink of insanity.
Speaking of insanity, after being held for seventeen days, Emily Song was released. They planned to keep her there for at least a few months.
But Emily was practically dead.
With no goals and searching for motivation and something to fill the void, she was completely docile. And she almost immediately came to the warehouse.
When Zoey saw her she had gotten ready to collapse onto the ground, but not before injecting the chip that contained the newly formed Sky into her brain.
" Emily! Not surprised you're here!"
She raced down the stairs to see her in a plain hood and pants. Eyes still as dead as ever.
" So?"
Once Zoey got close enough, she clapped her hands together.
Zoey was insinuating if she had given thought to her offer.
Emily nodded.
" Goody! So, I am goddam exhausted! So, I'll leave Stone to do most of this! But I can say is that if you're going to work for me you're becoming an unrealistic super buff, highly intelligent, very capable assassin a.k.a 'employee' who will always be at my beck and call! "
Zoey who said that all in one breath, saw Emily's eyebrow twitch in question.
" Let's just say I want to piss somebody off real bad."
Ooh, she petty! C'mon am I that bad!?
" Okay, we might need to bandage your chest, that can get in the way of fighting! Depending on how heavy they are! If they're really heavy you can use them as a weapon!"
That's when Emily opened up her jacket and revealed that her chest had grown much smaller.
It was now barely B.
" Oh..."
Zoey was surprised.
" Okay, then what about..."
Zoey motioned with her finger for her to turn around.
Emily did as she said and lifted her top to show her buttocks.
They were still heavily filling out her pants but it was obvious that they were much smaller.
" Makes sense, those are hard to reverse. Quick question, why did you reverse your plastic surgery?"
"New me, new look."
Zoey wanted to throw in a comment but held back in doing so.
" Cool, cool, cool, cool. No doubt, no doubt. Anything else you wanna clue me in on?"
" I burned all my official records, I blew up my apartment, I bought several weapons, everyone thinks I'm dead."
" Let me guess, new you also means entirely clean slate?"
Emily nodded.
" Cool, well, howdy! And here's your collar! Totally on board with the whole fraud thing welcome aboard!"
Zoey was so tired that she was sounding unusually chipper. But the creepy kind of chipper.
Emily took the collar from Zoey's hand and put it on her neck.
It made a small click and beep before tightening around her neck.
" That'll make sure you never betray me! Ha ha! Ever."
Emily nodded.
Stare~
That's what Zoey did with her fucking raccoon eyes.
Her glaring made Emily perplexed.
" Aren't you like going to say, 'oh I would never betray you', or 'you're so paranoid!'"
" Would you listen to me if I said so?"
" Well, maybe.... NAHHH!"
" I rest my case."
"....
Oh, I like you! C'mon your way behind and I need to get some sleep before we start physical training!"
Emily watched Zoey take long strides to the stairs.
Her eyes were like violent swirls of molten darkness.
" Master..."
Zoey stopped straight in her tracks.
She made a complete one-eighty on her heels showing a hanging jaw and eyes as wide as she could her them
" Kinky! You have my attention!"
"•••"
The pause taken by Emily was long and awkward.
" Master. You know what I am. You know how I feel on the inside.
Do you... pity me?
Or do you think I'm pathetic? For choosing to stay in my mind's darkness rather than find the light.
This black hole inside me..."
" Giggity."
" You know it's there, yet... you chose me.
Why?"
Zoey stared at her again. The exasperation exuding from her would make you weary from the mere mention of it.
She slid her hand up her face.
"For the love of...
Opportunity. Okay?
You were a moment of opportunity!
I don't feel that strongly about you in any way.
And you being this 'black hole' or whatever,"
She pointed her thumb to the staircase.
" Join the party, gotta bunch of people just like you. Clearly, I have an eye.
And even though I literally cannot care anymore, I will say this."
She went back over to Emily with large thumping stomps.
" You can keep saying you're nothing but the truth is.... we're all just chunks spewed onto this world by an intolerable jackass with a 'G' word complex.
I accepted this long ago and I don't care. Why do you? If that doesn't work for you then I can't help you. Figure yourself out."
" Yes..."
Emily felt something strange arise in her chest. It was strange and unsettling.
It was like-
" Hey, edge lord we don't do character development here!"
" Character development?"
" It's an inside insult, now stop with the emotional growth from one-dimensionality into an actual human being and walk!
I am fucking tanking this story and its quality even if it kills me."
Zoey muttered that last sentence and pushed Emily forward.
" Go, go, go, go!"
She pushed Emily up the stairs, and once she reached the top Emily stared blankly at the scene before her.
Several strange people were squatting down with weights on long poles that rested on their shoulders. All of them were soaked in sweat, faces different shades of red ranging from cherries to kidney beans. Wearing black long-sleeved shirts and black shorts. They were clearly in pain and struggling but they didn't say a thing.
" Everyone, Emily, Emily, everyone."
Zoey then turned to Emily so fast her neck cracked, " We're going to be physically training today, but for you, it might be way harder since you're late to the party! But I'm sure you'll adjust! Now let's pump you full of steroids!"
Emily stood eyeing her new comrades when it hit her.
" I'm sorry master, but I believe you said steroids-"
" Yup!"
Emily then had a needle injected into her neck faster than she could blink.
"There we go!"
It was over in less than a second and the cold sliver of metal being slowly pulled from her neck only made Emily blink.
She touched the injection site with the tips of her fingers and was quickly told by Zoey.
" You know what I want you to do. Weights are there in the corner, don't stop unless I say so. Now mama needs her rest. Ciao."
Emily didn't argue as Zoey's eyes increased in a visible downward slope along with her blatant apathy.
Hearing no arguments, Zoey hopped up and hauled ass downstairs. She walked back over to her computers. There sat a teeny little microchip the size of a grown louse.
She treated it as gently as a baby Tinker Bell and sorrowfully gazed at it.
" Hi Sky."
She had succeeded in reforming Sky into his original insertable microchip form.
" Hopefully you'll still be the same."
She truly hoped he managed to keep some part of his original state.
She kept her hopes strong as she moved the chip into a needle.
She watched as the tiny little thing floated inside the plunger.
" I need some fucking sleep."
She groaned and held the needle to her head.
" This is gonna be a long ride buddy."
*Pshht*
The sound the needle made was like a small gust of air as Zoey plunged the chip into her skull.
