"Good morning Director Mae!"
"Good morning Jurie. Anything today?"
"Yes Ma'am . You have an early lunch meeting to Saotori build and construction industry. Mr. Saotori requested your presence personally."
"Chairman Jake? I thought he's on his honeymoon on spain?"
"Yes ma'am Chairman Saotori is currently out of the country. I'm talking about Mr. Nick Saotori."
"Oh.. I see.. What else."
"You also have a meeting to Han corporation regarding our collaboration project with them."
"Han corporation? When do we have collaboration project with them?"
"Actually Ma'am this collaboration is already overdue. The former Director agreed and sign this project but due to some issues it didn't push through. Now that Han Corporation have their new CEO they're considering this project to revisit and discuss."
"Han Corporation.. OK got it gives me a copy of their reports on how they perform. And also the copy of that sign project please."
"Right away Ma'am."
"Oh tell them I need their presentation later regarding the project."
"Are we going to accept it Director?"
"Depend on their performance later. But for now can I have a cup of warm chocolate please I forgot to have breakfast."
"Yes Ma'am.... I'm taking my leave now please excuse me."
After her assistant left. She started to work. She's on her work mode when her personal phone rings.. Without checking who's the caller she picks up her phone.
"Hello??.. Hello??.." No response from the other line. "Hello??.." She repeats. When still no response with irritated voice she added. "For Goodness Nick don't ruin my day with your childish prank. One more call and I won't meet you later for lunch!!!" She hung up the phone and blocked the number right away. If there is anything she hates when she's working is that interrupting her for nothing especially when she's in work mode.
After evaluating the documents in her hand she reaches the intercom. "Jurie please come in.." after a few seconds the door opens. "Here're the documents for Han Corporation, I made some notes and highlighted those need to revise let Director Lyn from Planning development handle this. Let her attend the meeting this afternoon to them."
"Yes ma'am..i will remove then that spot in your schedule. Are you heading out now for the early lunch meeting.?"
"Yes.. Please give me all the necessary documents, I need. I'll leave the rest to you here."
Jurie is one of those kids that have been abducted by human slave traders along with her. When she joins the military Jurie is also there. Since then, they become friends. But she didn't finish her schooling because her adopted parents brought her back in the orphanage when they gave birth to their own child. She goes on regular school instead. When her brother sent her to study, and also get healed they lost contact with each other. When she comes back and work for her brother's company she personally calls her and asked her to apply. Luckily she passed all the screening and qualifications.
"By the way Yui..." She's reading the new documents in her hand when she called her. It's very rare of Jurie to call her on her name whenever they are in the office even if they are friends. "Did you got the news?"
"About what?.. She replied without averting her eyes on the paper in her hand.
"Your prodigal husband.. He's the new CEO of Han Corporation. They also send us invitations for his welcome party."
She didn't reply. But for many years they're been friends Jurie know she's not comfortable about the topic. Her hand gestures prove it.
"Is that the reason you give the proposal to Director Lyn to handle?" Jurie add when she still didn't reply. Jurie is one of those few people know about her being married at a young age. When her married life failed she's also there for her. She's also the only outsider who knows her real identity as Saotori only princess. She accidentally found it out when she gave her a surprise visit on her apartment when she saw all the Saotori Brothers are there. She also heard them addressing her as little sister.
"You know very well that I didn't mix business to my personal life."
"What's your plan then.. Oh crap what am I asking.. You don't have to give a damn on that jerk!!!.. Good decision don't meet him anymore let your brothers deal with him."
"You know I can't let them do that. Sooner or later we need to face each other. And when that time comes, all I want is his sign on our divorce paper." She look up on her with an assuring smile.
"Yeah make him realize what he had lost.. I'm heading out now I'm sure you'll be fine since your meeting up with your brother. I prepare what you'll need for that meeting.. And one thi----" Jurie is about to open the door when it's suddenly open up in harshly. Good thing she had a quick reflexes the door bumped into her shoulder instead on her face!! The impact make her step back, and almost lose her balance when a strong hand grab her waist.
"Baby Mae!!!.. Woah... Watch out there babe!!.."
"Oh my God!!!!.. Big brother what have you done!!!.. Are you alright Jurie?" She rose up from her chair instantly to reach her friend.
"I'm fine.." She's trying to get away from the arm that still hugging her waist but the more she tried the more it hugs her tight. "You can let go of me now Mr. Saotori. I can stand on my own now. But thanks anyway." She said in a business tone.
"Let me see.." Nick in his serious voice.
"What?.."
"Let me see where I hurt you. I heard it. I accidentally knocked the door on you." he said impatiently.
"It's nothing.. It's just a sim----.. Hey what do you think you're doing!!!!". He's face turn dark upon hearing what she said. Before she can protest he already managed to pull her blazer that covers her shoulder.
"Oh my God it's swollen!!!.. Nick do something it's all your fault!!!.."
"I'll take you to the hospital wait for me----"
"No need.." she cut him. "I can manage". She head now on the door. Before closing it, she added. "All the documents you need is in my table I leave it there since I still need to bring this down. I'll take my leave now please excuse me." Then she shut the door.
"Look what you've done....Jeez big brother I really want to smack you now."
"I'm sorry ok? I just want to surprise you. And remind you also about the meeting today.. By the way, there's something on that friend of you today." He looked at the glass window where they can clearly see what's outside. He looked at the certain someone who's busy arranging some papers.
" Oh... She just finally get rid of that thick glasses of her. She's pretty right? I know she is with or without that eye glasses."
"Uhmm.. She still looks ordinary. That's not what I'm talking about. You know every time we cross our path she's always like a cat ready to swing her claws against my face."
"Yeah... Now that you mentioned it. Maybe she's still bothered for her upcoming engagement with her fiancé that is chosen by her grandparents."
"Engagement? To whom?"
"Well I heard he's scholar, A young professor from well-known university."
"What a boring... Anyway they sure suits really well. They're both boring. When is the engagement?"
"Why are you going to send her a gift? Or are you going to make a scene there? Big brother I'm warning you.."
"Of course not..." He defended. [Because I'll make sure there's no engagement is going to happen.] A sinister smile appears on his handsome face.
