Because time was moving slow, Kilat could see their every move. He could see how their muscles stretched and contracted. He could even see their saliva dripping of their fangs and onto the grass. However, the most peculiar was how his essence was leaving his body in absurd amounts. It was as if the essence flood gates had been opened. Seeing this Killat realized this was probably the cause of
He couldn't keep it going forever if he did he would be sucked dry in no time and he would die another pathetic death. He didn't want that, he didn't know if there was another chance for him after this. He didn't know whether death truly meant death this time around. As such he would fight for his life and do it properly. Knowledge is power but knowledge without strength is meaningless.
Kilat deactivated,
With the spear in his hand, coupled with the knowledge from his past life and the previous owner, Killat thrust his spear forward into the black left eye of a wolf. The spear was thrust forward at a slanted angle. Although the previous body was a genius when it came to weapons, this was still a new body for him. Not to mention the addition of a tail was throwing his balance off more than he anticipated.
His tail was supposed to be erect, instead, it was lying on the ground like a fourth leg. This was another part he would have to get used to.
As the spear pierced the eye of one of the wolves, it howled in pain and rolled on the ground. This caused the others wolves to get angry. Now they all attacked him with vigour. Facing four wolves of almost equal strength from four sides while still injured was no walk in the park. Kilat took a deep breath and drew back his spear. Then with a cloud of smoke, he changed the spear into a kunai and tossed it with all his might at the pack of wolves. Once it was in the air he changed the weapon into a double trident.
This was a weapon he had seen when he was researching ancient weapons of his previous world. The double trident moved through the air at the same speed the kunai did until it reached its target. The double trident pierced two wolves in their faces and then pinned them to the ground. They tried to wiggle their way out but that just aggravated the wounds leading to their death as they bled out on the grass.
The remaining two leapt at him while he grabbed a dagger at his waist. That's when he activated,
Once he made his analogy he deactivated his ability. Then he took two steps back and changed his dagger into a Honjo Masamune katana. He then made an overhead slash at the one wolf cutting the wolf's head in two. He then turned the katana horizontally and changed it into a harpoon. The weapon grew instantly in size piercing the wolf that was in its ribs.
The blade in its lungs caused the wolf's attack to fail as it fell to the ground coughing mouthfuls of blood. Seeing this Kilat heaved a sigh of relief, then darted forward to finish it off while it was in pain. However, as he moved forward he stepped on his tail causing a tear-jerking pain to shoot through his body. He fell to the ground like a wall of bricks and right in front of the wolf.
The wolf continued to cough thick ounces of blood when it saw its prey right in front of it. It knew it was going to die soon as it couldn't breathe anymore. However, if it was going to die, it didn't want to die alone. Its soul could never rest in peace if it let this Monpoe get away with killing it.
It began amassing every last shred of essence it still had inside and opted for a glorious death. It would self destruct and take its foe to hell with it. As the essence churned violently within in its body without rythym or rhyme; the essence lost its stable disposition and began glowing with a red light. That red light slowly enveloped the body of the white wolf changing it to red.
When Kilat saw this he gulped. He was well aware of what the wolf was trying to do. It was common for amateur cultivators to die from explosions when they cultivated the wrong way. Within his generation, he had seen many who had lost control and died.
Because their cultivation level was in the early stages the size of the explosion was negligible. However, this wolf was in Essence Noble thus the blast radius would be worlds apart. It was too late for him to stand up and run, he would still be caught by the explosion. Hence the only way to survive was to defuse the bomb.
Kilat activated,
