clutching her back pack mona left the class and headed to the front office. inside a familiar looking woman with blonde hair and glasses was reading at her desk. seeing mona standing in the doorway she briskly greeted her
"hello ms. marlowe. please sit down so we can talk"
sitting across the woman mona felt a sense of deja vu. this woman looked just like an older version of that obnoxious cheerleader. not to mention her overbearing tone reminded her of the arrogant police officer who wanted her to apologize. most likely this wasnt about montag. realizing this mona became relaxed.
" what would you like to speak with me about mrs? is it my grades?"
Mrs. hargraves clenched her teeth and smiled at the young woman before her. " no I just want to hear how you're coping here" mrs hargraves smiled softly. yet beneath her white lotus mask inside she truly wanted to smack the smirk right off her disrespectful face. Her daughter said she was a haughty little harlot but seeing her instantly made her seethe with rage. this girl was most definitely Simone Rifes daughter. with pale hair golden eyes and a twin brother there was no doubt about it. she remembered hearing news that the accursed woman died in childbirth with twins. that day she celebrated by herself drinking merrily not daring to tell her husband. No wonder he went easy on this little bitch!
recalling her past mrs.hargraves failed to notice the pregnant silence that was becoming more awkward by the minute.
" the bell has rung so I will be leaving now" mona finally sighed then picked up her bag and left the room.
watching her leave mrs.hargraves felt a wave of loathing overwhelm her. despite not knowing her mother this girl acted just like her! everything she did was detached yet full of confidence. only ever getting angry for others. one could only feel inferior to this sort of attitude. what made her think she could act like this? she truly needed to be taught a lesson.
feeling the dark cloud of resentment behind her as she left the room mona felt a little tired. what was wrong with these people? thinking of her brother she began to worry. will they use him to get to her like Kai did? quickening her pace she headed towards her brothers last class.
