-1 month later-
While watching tv I could hear Kirito talking on the phone as he is walking down the stairs towards the living room. I couldn't help but eavesdrop on his conversation.
"What do you mean you're coming over?"
Kirito sighs in frustration as he enters the kitchen.
"I do not at all one hundred percent think it's a good idea for you guys to come, We are in lockdown and-"
He seemed to have got cut off by the mysterious caller, I could tell by the tone in his voice he was agitated along with the noise of him tapping his finger on the counter.
(I wonder who could make him this agitated?) I thought to myself and continued to listen.
"If you get caught do not blame me, Also do not make trouble here I have someone staying with me for a while and I do not need any unwanted drama."
Again there was a small pause.
"No she's not the problem, You are and if you at all upset her ill kick you all out in a nanosecond got it?"
A longer pause.
"Ok bye, See you soon."
I hear the conversation end and quickly straighten my posture pretending to not have heard a thing, I could hear Kirito clear his voice as he walks in then taking a seat next to me throwing his arm on the back of the couch behind my shoulders.
"Hey so, My family will be coming by this evening to bring the dogs over and visit."
I turn to look at his face and he had a careless look about the situation. I flash him a simple smile.
"Ok, I'll prepare a meal for them and get ready myself."
His demeanor quickly changed and looked happier at my statement.
"So your not upset about it?"
I shake my head and sit up.
"No not at all, Why should I be?"
Kirito chuckles and a sweat drop forms on his head.
"Well, Just don't mind my mother, She can be a bit of a handful sometimes especially around other women, Don't let her bully you if she does let me know and ill deal with it ok?"
I nod obediently and he messes up my hair.
"Good."
A few hours later
Once everything was prepared and I finished getting ready I had put on a casual floral navy blue dress that went fell just above my knees and some curled my hair. Just as I finish I hear the doorbell echo throughout the house.
(Kirito pov)
I clear my throat and fix my tie just before opening the door. My mother instantly throws herself into my arms.
"Kirito my baby boy I've missed you so much!! Give mommy kisses!"
I push her head away and pry her off of me.
"Hurry up and get inside before you get caught."
She and my two sisters stroll in taking their seats in the living room, I could hear the faint sound of footsteps coming from the stairs and know it's Yuki.
(Yuki pov)
I enter the living room and all heads turn towards me. An older woman instantly stands up to greet me, She wore an elegant fashionable red dress that barely touched the floor, she resembled Kirito a little though her eyes were darker green and her short wavy black hair has dulled with age, A few wrinkles on her face but overall she was still a beautiful woman. She smiled and bowed a little greeting me.
"It is nice to meet you, I am Kirito's mother Lillian Ryoko and these are Kirito's older and younger sister."
The two girls who looked like they could be twins stood up and greeted me as well. The older sister has lime green eyes tinted with a little bit blue. They were beautiful and I was in awe, she looked angelic and mature. Her mid-wavy light brown hair went well with her light tan complexion. She stood holding her hand on her stomach, I could tell she was heavily pregnant.
She wore long white and pink kimono while her younger sister wore a dress similar to her mother's. The younger sister has shorter brown-black hair that was straight. She had paler skin than the rest of us and darker green eyes.
The older sister greeted me first.
"It's nice to meet you, My name is Izumi and this is my younger sister Zuri."
Zuri waves in response to the introduction and I smile at them all.
"Thank you, My name is Yuki Hiroshimae I am glad you all could come to visit even under such circumstances."
(To me they seem very nice, I hope we can get along well especially for Kirito's sake.)
I guide my hand towards the dining room table.
"Please come have dinner with us, Everything is ready I hope you all will enjoy it!"
I speak with enthusiasm and give a polite smile, Kirito leads the way and we all take our seats. Kirito and I sat next to each other while the two sisters sat next to each other and their mother sat towards the end of the table.
"Yuki, did you prepare all of these dishes yourself?"
I scratch the back of my head nervously.
"Yes, I hope you like them, They are more of a western-style but-"
Mrs. Ryoko interrupts me while smiling.
"They are delicious! western style food is quite good and is actually Izumi's favorite food right now."
I nod and a question comes to mind.
"Mrs. Izumi, may I ask how far along you are?"
Izumi gently smiles and shakes her head happy that I asked about her pregnancy.
"I am due in 2 months with twins! One boy and one girl we are so excited."
I instantly got baby fever hearing she was having twins it excited me.
"I'm so happy for you! Have you picked out names yet?"
I ask with curiosity in my eyes and she giggles before nodding.
"Yes but it's a secret."
She winks at me placing her hand over her mouth.
-
A few hours go by and we all enjoyed ourselves talking amongst each other, I learned a lot from them about who Kirito used to be as a child, Kirito ended up walking away in embarrassment. Izumi and I seemed to have gotten really close in such a short time it felt nice to be able to talk to another girl.
Zuri didn't talk much but I thought it was because she was shy, She stayed close to her mother grabbing at her mother's hand now and then. I noticed that each time she would Lillian would shoo her away or tell her to go play as she talked. I felt sorry for her she looked to only be around 8 years old. She walked up to Kirito and pulled on his sleeve next and Kirito looks down at her and smiles.
"Zuri you have grown so much since last year."
Zuri smiles feeling happy her brother had acknowledged her and nods with delight.
"Big brother, When will you be coming home?"
Kirito bends down to her level and places his hand upon her head and messes up her hair.
"I'm old enough to take care of myself now, Zuri this is my home but you can come to visit whenever you like once the country goes back to normal ok?"
Zuri pouts for a moment but eventually smiles knowing she would be able to come soon again. Izumi interrupts their lovely chat with a rather loud sneeze.
*Achoo*
"Oops excuse me, Gosh Kirito do you have cats here still?"
Kirito chuckles and nods.
"Yeah, they keep the rats away."
Lillian shrieks at the word rats and looks all around her, Upon seeing no signs of rats she sighs with relief and starts to usher her daughters towards the door.
"Well I think it's time to get going, It was nice to meet you Yuki, Kirito your dogs are already out back and fed. Take care of yourselves and goodnight!"
We wave goodbye with a rigid expression and once the door closes behind them Kirito sighs with relief while untying his tie. I watch as he throws it onto the couch and I pick it up.
"Kirito why are you so relieved? Your family seems very nice!"
He turns to face me and walks up to me putting an arm around my waist to hug me. By now I should be used to his charm but I couldn't help feel flustered.
"That's the thing...They were nice and especially for my mother that's odd. Izumi is always nice but my mother is the complete opposite and little Zuri is growing up to be just like her."
(So it was all for show?)
I thought for a second but pushed Kirito away to look at him.
"Maybe they changed, let's just give them the benefit of the doubt."
Kirito chuckles and turns to leave.
"Alright, let's clean up and watch a movie or something."
