'Our mission has failed'
'What's worse, two of the three demons sent here were killed by that swordsman'
'Demon General will not be pleased…'
'But as I am now, I am invisible to all eyes….'
'I must bid my time and hide within a cave until the sun goes down. Then, I can slit that swordsman's throat in his sleep'
Shoyo: "You are one sneaky rat, aren't you?"
Without a hint of hesitation, Shoyo grabbed the invisible demon by the throat. Immediately, the demon's features now revealed themselves.
The demon was wearing dark clothing, with a single horn on one side of its head. His eyes were slitted red.
Demon: "But how? How could I not sense you?! You should be human and yet…."
Demon's red slitted eyes made contact with Shoyo's pitch black gaze.
What demon felt at that moment was an ingrained sense of fear a prey felt when it was caught in the predator's claws. Demons were supposed to be the predators and humans the prey.
But this man's aura made it obvious that this time, the demon was the prey.
Demon: 'This sensation, it's the same feeling I get when I face the Demon Generals…but he does not look like a demon…'
Demon: "What the hell are you?"
Shoyo: "Just a lone, lost Yaksha. That is all"
The demon felt the area around his neck starting to freeze.
It was not a sensation of being choked, in fact, as a demon; he could not be killed by such means. After all, he had nearly unlimited regenerative ability.
But this man's hand was freezing his cells upon contact, shattering them in the process.
Even with the regenerative ability of a demon, there was no way to heal if all cells were destroyed.
The ice coated his neck, spreading across his entire body.
At first, the demon was scared, but then, his consciousness vanished as he was turned into a demon icicle.
Then, Shoyo proceeded to squeeze just a little, causing the icicle to shatter into countless pieces.
Shoyo: "Apologies, but I cannot have you harm my precious new partner"
Just like that, a partnership between an oblivious human swordsman and a wandering Yaksha had begun.
