Chapter 23 - Up is Down

After the embarrassing series of events that had passed Iskandor runs off, unfortunately since it all happened in his room Iskandor could only go outside as to not face the others. He climbs up the lone tree in the yard to chill and avoid conflict. Inside Hikari is berating Lar and Serena sits off to the side helplessly, afraid to make herself known. Due to this Iskandor was left alone and eventually passed out. This night was different for Iskandor, and not just because he was sleeping in a tree. This is the first night Iskandor had a dream in Terra, but not just any dream.

Iskandor found himself in a world of white, it was as if his perspective was upside down on the rough, white, "ground". There seemed to be a source of light in the distance, making the uneven "ground" covered in light shadows. As his vision was disorienting he tried taking a step forward to get the lay of the land, but he noticed he didn't seem to be in a physical form. He wanted to ask if anyone was there but he couldn't make a sound, however when he tried to speak, what appeared to be black wax came from "above" and dropped infront of Iskandor, it fell onto nothing but started to flow off to the side as if it did fall onto something. It flowed and eventually it revealed the silhouette of Iskandor, which was by all accounts creepy as fuck. But what happened next made things down right horrifying. The wax silhouette started moving, and something came out of its wrists as it approached Iskandor, the material changed shape until it formed a pair of swords attached to chains bound to it's wrists.

(Author's Note: The blades of chaos from god of war.)

As soon as the swords were formed it was right infront of him, then armor formed from the silhouette. As soon as the armor was formed Iskandor barely had any time to take in the design as the silhouette stabbed forward, dissipating Iskandor's consciousness.

Iskandor awoke, only he realized he didn't. He found himself in a near identical situation as before, but this time the scenery was black with white "shadows". What happened next was different, instead of wax dripping from "above", white statuettes "rose" from the "floor". He saw Lar, Hikari, Serena and many other faces, most of which he didn't recognize, all female. Iskandor then seemed to turn around and so statuettes of the Savant family and others he assumed were the rest of the family, he also saw what he imagined was prominent members of some adventurers guild based on the emblem they all wore. After he was able to take in the sight the "ground" rumbled. The scenery changed yet again, this time there was no ground, ceiling or otherwise and it had no color, not black, just... nothing... Iskandor than heard a voice in his mind not unlike his own yet somehow, very different.

"Paths not yet walked, chosen not yet met, for they will have talked, for in stone things have been set." The voice said. Despite the cryptic nature of what seemed to be a prophecy Iskandor understood the message it was meant to convey.

This time he was able to talk so he spoke, "I am a chosen and there are others like me. We will all walk different paths yet they shall meet. Some of good and some of bad, and despite being set in stone only time will tell as stone, like all things is temporary..." Iskandor wasn't fully confident in his interpretation but believed his own words nonetheless. Instead of the voice speaking like he expected many scenes flashed through his mind, and despite his photographic memory it was as if he didn't have the authority to see everything he saw. This fact confused him, especially since most of what he saw was like that. As soon as it was over, he awoke in his own bed, with everyone staring at him.

"Umm... What happened while I was asleep?" Iskandor asked.

"You fell out of the tree, you should have woken up but it was as if you were in a trance..." Serena replies.

"Miiraad nu wundun, kaal ni nu grind, fah nust feh lost tinvaak, fah ko golz nii lost meyz fun." Lar says. "Roughly meaning 'Paths not yet walked, chosen not yet met, for they will have talked, for in stone things have been set.' Where did you hear this?"

"Long story short... My dream was akin to a prophecy or a vision..." Iskandor starts, then continues and explains what had happened.

"That's kinda cryptic..." Serena says.

"You can't remember all of the sequences you saw even with the photographic memory?" Hikari asked.

"I think it's not that I can't remember them, but I'm not allowed to..." Iskandor explained.

"Well, breakfast is made and we're all packed up, let's eat and head out!"
