The next morning, Sunyoung woke up early to talk to Hayoung but to her surprise he was nowhere around. Last night, he went to sleep abruptly without mentioning another word to her and now he was gone. Her heart was troubled by the revelations she had last night.
Even though Hayoung had spared that girl's life, there was no guarantee that he would stop killing people. She wanted him to turn a new leaf but something was keeping him rooted to this work. But what?
She washed herself and went outside to look for him. Was he with the magistrate? Did the magistrate know about Hayoung's nocturnal activities? Sunyoung was not very experienced with people but she was well aware of internal politics between people. Her father was known for carrying out shady deals and probably had people executed on his orders. Hence, she doubted that the magistrate would not be aware of what his subordinate was up to.
