The two of them drove towards their apartment as fast as they could. Jinhyun informed Suyeon on the way and the detective rushed to their address as well. By the time they had arrived, Suyeon was already there, standing with Kahi and Officer Lim Jaehyun.
The whole area had been sealed off by the police. A team of firefighters had managed to put the fire out but the air still smelled of smoke. They were working with the police, who were now exploring the house for evidence.
"How did this happen?" Jinhyun demanded. "Did they find out?"
He was sure that the stoves were turned off and the electrical switches were working. There was nothing which could cause a fire nor could he recall keeping any flammable material inside his house.
"They're still investigating," Suyeon replied. "The concierge, Steve, had said that the fire alarm was broken so they did not know about the fire until smoke came out of the window."
