Suyeon's fingers gripped the glass tightly. Jinhyun was waiting for his answer.
"Yes," he finally admitted. "I am. I ran away from the site after I saw my father crying out as he burned in front of me. I didn't know what to do or how to react. So I ran. I ran and ran until I reached a truck which was going out of town. I remember very little of what happened after that but somehow, I ended up in another city, far away from my old life."
The memories of that night were a constant torture for him. He wanted to escape it all but they kept on returning, making it hard for him to let go. The corpses of his dead parents always visit him at night, asking him why he was not finding their killer. That he had failed them and they were in agony. He shut away his feelings and stopped sleeping much, engrossing himself with work and work.Β
