At the end of the tunnel was nothing like she had imagined. Inside the Vine wall was a clearing full of vibrant flowers and vivid green grass. There was a constant soft white glow all around her like she was walking threw a dream.
A strong hunny like sweet smell overwhelmed her senses, catching her pleasantly by surprise. This must of been the sweet smell that Mikel could smell threw out the jungle.
A field of colorful flowers glittered in the white light, each as gorgeous and vibrant as diamonds.
They formed an ocean of color that took ones breath away once they saw it.
She was sure he would be disappointed that the smell was coming from a bunch of flowers, and not from the delicious food he was hopefull for. Maybe he would still like the view, even if he couldn't eat it.
Colorful little orbs of lights floated around the clearing, dancing across the flowers and trees like fireflies. They left a train of light behind as they flew by, as if they were shooting stars.
Hmmm..
Spirt orbs manifesting on their own without a magician to bring them threw the veil? How was this possible? What was this place?
Normal spirit orbs only formed when a magician was cultivating the magic in the air. For them to simply be floating about on their own was very strange to her.
The air within the clearing was dense with magical energy, and a sudden feeling of strength began to fill her chest. Her once fatigued body felt lighter, and full energy.
She had only been inside the clearing for a few seconds, and she could allready feel the magic she had depleted before had return to her with full force. She was very tempted to start cultivating here, but decided against it since Mikel would be waiting on her, and she still didnt know what might of been lurking within these vine walls.
She couldn't help but wonder if she could break threw to the next level if she cultivated here with such a strong magical energy in the air. With all this dense magic floating around ready to be consumed, it would most likely be easy to reach the next level in just a few hours. She winced at the lost opportunity, but still felt it was for the best to move on quickly.
This place felt too unnatural to her. There was no way that the jungle made this vine enclosure solely by natural means. In fact, the magic in the air here didn't feel like it was from this realm at all. It felt foreign and other worldly. It was very similar to the magic she was use to, but it felt like something was off about it.
The thick white light that incased her surroundings made it hard to see further out into the clearing clearly. She could only see a few feet in front of her, making it easy for someone to sneak up on her if they chose to. She was allready on high alert, and didn't like she couldn't see her surroundings clearly.
She walked further and further into the clearing, the square silhouette of a building began to form in view. As she got closer to it, its fuzzy shape became sharper and clear to make out.
It wasn't just a simple building, it looked like a tomb fit for a king. The tomb was stunning to look at, but at the same time very eerie. The white mist clung to the ground around it, making it look like something straight out of a horror novel.
The tomb was made out of high quality white marble, with strong pillars lined elegantly across the entrance. A small white plack was cared into the marble, in plain view for all intruders to see. It was dusty and looked extremely old but the words on it were still legible.
'Those that dare to disturbe the Demon
Lords slumber, will die a horrible death. Turn back now or die.'
Amiria couldn't hold back from doing an eye roll.
Oh, please. Die a horrible death? You can certainly try, but I doubt you will get your way.
She scoffed at such a ridiculous warning. Like a few silly words could keep out a true adventurer! It would take alot more than that to scare her off. She had allready came this far, and she would be dammed if she was going to turn back now.
Suddenly, somthing the plack said caught her attention.
Demon Lord? Did it mean an actual Demon like in legends?
She recalled a book on the subject that she had read along time ago, making her mind race with excitement.
Demons were a powerful race of individuals that used a completely different type of magic then normal humans could. This magic was extremely remarkable, and even rivaled the Gods of the Heavens. The gods feared that the Demons would rebel against them with their growing strength and strage magic, so they decided to wage a war before they had a chance to attack them first. The Gods went on the eliminate anyone with demon blood in their veins over a thousand years ago.
To Amiria, this was all nothing but legend from an old book, but now she began to doubt herself. Was there any truth behind it? The whole notion of Demons and Gods was extremely fascinating to her. How exciting it would be to witness such a grande magic from either races!
Maybe this tomb was built especially for a fallen demon from those ancient times. The idea of such an astonishing discovery made her blood boil in excitement.
What ever or who ever, was incased in this tomb was somthing from legends! A piece of history that had been missing from all the history books! This was knowledge only known to her at the moment, and that thought made a wicked grin to slide across her face.
She wanted to learn more about this. How interesting this really was to her!
Excitment filled her heart and a strong desire to break into the tomb to see what was inside weighed heavy on her mind. More then anything else she wanted to know what truly could be inside!
She balled up her delicate looking hand into a fist, and simultaneously incased it with her spiritual powers to form a hard force field around it. It was a good thing this strange place replenished her magic, she felt strong and very daring!
Now In her fighting stance, she drew back her fist and powerfully thrusted it with all her might threw the marble wall.
-BANG-
The wall cracked and crumbled from the sudden force crashing into it, making a hole just big enough to walk threw. The white mist took this chance to slowly crawl it's way over the fallen bricks and spread out into the vast darkness within the tomb.
That was alittle too easy..
She was still on her guard, and decide to scan the room before entering it. She didnt want the corpse of a demon to surprise her within the darkness. She sent her spiritual power out of her body like a wave to scan the room for any other magical presence or signs of life. Since she couldn't see with her eyes, she figured this would be the best way to figure out what was already inside.
She felt a stong pull of magical power originating from the middle of the tomb. It was a steady pull, like a spiritual vacuum consuming the magic from around it. There was no sign of it being conscious, and she couldn't sense any life from within.
Wait.. was that a heart beat? It was extremely faint, and only seemed to heat every few minutes. It was impossible for a human to have such a slow heart rate, so what could it possibly be? The beat was so slow she almost missed it completely!
Was this thing.. cultivating? What ever was in this tomb was sucking the magic around it and consuming it for itself. Just like how she could when she cultivated. How unusual.
That was really surprising. Finding another magician was allready rare enough, but to find one that could actually consume the magic around them just like she could was truly unreal.
To make things even more baffling to her, it seemed like what ever it was doing this while sleeping! How else could it have such a slow heart rate if it wasn't asleep? Consuming magic was extremely dangerous to do, and it took complete concentration to complete or one would harm their internal organs or even die. And this thing did it without even being awake?
What in the world could do somthing like that?
