Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Hades was examining a temple made in his honour by the Mortals of Greece. This was the 4th one. It would still be a few centuries before the gods thought it best to keep their existence a secret to the outside world. As for now though, anybody could see mount Olympus in the distance when the clouds parted.

Hades was currently wearing a black Greek style robe and was assuming his mortal form. Black hair, black eyes and pale skin, but still handsome. All the gods were good looking in their own way, especially when all of them could shape shift.

Hades had put in more effort than any other Olympian to increase his number of worshipers and following. The other gods were still young and foolish, but he knew the dangers of fading, and in the future the Greek gods had hardly any worshipers. So he would go around and give food to the hungry and heal the sick.

Unlike the other gods who would kill mortals for fun or kill them for something stupid, Hades hardly ever killed a mortal when others were watching. He was by far the most favoured, much to his family's jealousy.

Whilst he was inspecting the dark temple a bright light flashed in front of him, when light receded there was a gorgeous woman with eyes like fire and brown hair who looked to be about 23.

The woman looked at Hades and smiled kindly, "Hello brother, I'm sorry to have interrupted your alone time, but Zeus has a message for you" She said calmingly

Hades turned to the girl with a intrigued look on his face, "Does he Hestia? Well this is surprising considering we rarely speak to one another, except emergencies or the winter solstice. So tell me. What does King wish to tell me?" Although he sounded calm, Hestia could here the sarcasm.

She snorted in amusement, also having found Zeus's arrogance funny, "He's getting married to Hera." She responded, no beating around the bush.

Hades lips quirked as his mind worked overtime, he already guessed who Zeus would be marrying. He had been waiting for his brother and his sister Hera to tie the knot and was beginning to get nervous when it didn't happen as soon as he'd thought it would.

This marriage was a warning for Hades. A warning that the other Olympians would be coming, Ares and Hephaestus would be born soon, along with the indirect birth of Athena, Artemis, Dionysus and Apollo. Not to mention the upcoming Demigods.

Hades feigned surprise, as he had no reason to have seen this coming, "Really? My not so loving younger siblings are going to marry one another? I don't know if I should feel euphoric or disgusted." He spoke monotonously.

Hestia giggles light heartedly, "You mustn't speak like that brother, lest our brother hears and smites you with his all powerful lightning bolt." She replied jokingly, whilst doing an impression of Zeus throwing his symbol of power. Even Hades chuckled.

After the laughter died down Hades replied, "I'm assuming this wedding will be taking place on Olympus, am I even granted permission to attend?" He asked.

Her mood immediately dulled, Hestia sighed sadly, "Yes brother, Olympus will open its gates to you when the wedding starts, but you will not be allowed to attend the feasts after."

Hades couldn't say he was surprised, he was still alienated by the other gods and hadn't tried to change it. So why would anything change? He wasn't bothered about being barred from Mount Olympus. He didn't even want a throne there, he had his own throne, in his own palace, in his own domain. The underworld was his home, and whilst most gods thought that Hades was bitter about his situation, thought he yearned to enter Olympus, he didn't. He was more than happy with his current dwelling.

Hestia hugged her brother, taking his silence as sadness, "Do not fret brother, I plan to confront our siblings during the summer solstice and convince them to let you into Olympus, as well as let you move your throne there." She spoke earnestly.

Hades couldn't help but smile at his sisters kindness, too kind if you asked him. "Please don't sister, they do not want me there, so do not force them. It would only serve to make things socially uncomfortable. I'm happy in the underworld." His voice was patient, but firm.

Hestia knew that she couldn't change his mind, so with a goodbye she disappeared in a flash of light.

After Hestia left a mortal woman and man walked in. They were both wearing sleeveless black robes and had tattoos on their left forearms. The tattoos were of black spear with two bat like wings sticking out the back. When Hades took Thanatos's domain, he also took his powerful wings, but they weren't feathered, but bat like.

The tattoo looked alive and had small shadows dancing around them and the wings would move every so often. Hades took this idea from the dark mark in the Harry Potter book series and marked all of his most devoted followers. All of his followers believed in and worshiped ALL the gods, but the ones with this mark served only him.

He had done this so the other mortals had something to strive for. A goal. Anybody with this mark was rewarded with riches, amazing food and an amazing home, as well as a small gift from Hades himself. Although they all had to swear an oath on river Styx to serve him loyally.

The man on the left had been born unable to walk, but after having become a priest Hades gave him his legs back. The women on right had a life long grudge after her husband left for another, so she asked Hades to make sure they both suffered for eternity, which he agreed to. The woman had killed them both in their sleep and Hades immediately sent them to the fields of punishment, but only for 3 hours. He wasn't actually going punish them eternally for something so insignificant, that was reserved for much worse.

The two priests knelt on the ground until Hades instructed them to rise. "Is the temple to your liking my lord" Alec asked calmly.

Hades nodded his head and with a wave of his hand dismissed Alec. Now alone with his female priest, "Nadia, I have an important task for you. However before I inform you of the contents of this task, I need you to understand that you can refuse and I will not be mad, nor will you be punished." He said seriously.

Nadia was surprised but immediately schooled her features, "I will do whatever is needed of me my Lord, no matter the task I will fulfil it to the best of my abilities." She sounded calm, but it was obvious to Hades that she was buzzing with excitement.

Hades could only shake his head, "Nadia, I need you to bear my child." He said bluntly. His priestess froze in shock and for a moment Hades thought he broke her.

—————————————————————————

It had been a week since then, the god and mortal had been going at it constantly, each time Hades would use more of his divine power in hopes of a powerful child. During sex he would wear his Helm of Darkness and hold his Spear of Darkness, testing to see if it would strengthen the child.

After they stopped having constant sex, Hades and Nadia would have sessions where she sat in silence, whilst he tried to slowly weave more power into the unborn Fetus.

Even though they were intimate it was clear to anybody watching that there wasn't a sense of love between the two. He cared for her and she was entirely devoted to her god, but there was no romance.

With the amount of raw power she was exposed to, the only way to keep Nadia alive was to make her partially immortal, the same way Artemis did to her hunters. She could be killed, but old age and disease would never be the cause. She was also physically stronger than any human and had better senses.

Under Hades's orders she was not allowed to leave the underworld until the child was born, as he did not want to risk other gods finding out of her existence and messing things up.

...

Nine months later Nadia gave birth to twins. A boy and a girl. Hades named the boy Thanatos in honour of the god who's domain he inherited, and the girl Macaria after the woman who would have been Hades's daughter. She was the goddess of Blessed death, minor Underworld goddess and princess of the Underworld. Her mother would have been Persephone.

Hades had felt their power for himself to gauge their strength. They were already guaranteed to be powerful as children of one of the big three, but with the attentive care Hades showed them, something no Demigod had ever been given, they were more powerful then the average big three demigods.

The two children inherited their fathers looks like most demigods, black hair, black eyes and cold pale skin. At the beginning Hades only thought of having children as an experimenta to see how powerful a demigod could become without having to become a god, but now with the two babies in front of him he couldn't help but love them.
