Chapter 75 - Blood Guardians

It has been a week since Simon had started attending the Blood Academy. In his time there, Simon could only note that the academy could teach average students very well, but it definitely could not do anything to help Simon in any way. Every single day would be a crash course in some better than average sword technique and then a lecture on the arts of visualisation, but none of that was useful to Simon. The only useful thing about the lectures was the fact that Simon could just blank out and theorise more on his body tempering technique.

Although he had achieved some breakthroughs in his ideas, Simon still could not figure out how to create a technique that could qualify as satisfying for him. Even if his skin could block strikes from a 7th ranker, he still would not be satisfied. That type of body tempering technique would only last him another month of grinding until he would have to stop and create a new one. What he really wanted is a technique that can utterly eradicate his need to ever stop and fix his bodily foundations ever again; a god technique.

But such things are not easy to create.

Sigh

'It's been a long week. I haven't really done anything but thinking. This is more boring than Haven. At least I was a teacher that got tons of respect back then. I am now just a student in the background, being bored out of my mind.'

Simon Rested his back on the Sparring Hall's wall and watched as countless random devils fought each other with slightly above average skill and techniques, making him yawn from the boredom. If he knew that life at the academy would end up like this, than he would have just stayed in the palace and do admin work. This was simply too tiring for him to watch.

"Heya, you gonna go up and have a spar with anyone?" A boy asked as he scooted over to Simon.

"No. Why would I need to do that? I only need to complete the assessments, this is truely irrelevant." Simon said as he leaned his head on the wall and exhaled. Looking at the fighting, Simon yawned even louder.

"Do you have a boyfriend-"

"She left?"

Simon immediately blinked towards the other end of the sparring hall and assumed his seated position on a wall.

'This is so boring...'

"ANNOUNCEMENT: WELCOME THE BLOOD GUARDIANS AS THEY ENTER THE SPARRING HALL."

A thundering voice echoed throughout the school as Simon was just about to fall asleep from the boredom. With the sound of the voice, Simon felt like something slightly more important would take place today.

'Isn't that...whatever...just another guest Masterclass that I know I will DEFINITELY no benefit from.'

Suddenly, the door to the sparring hall opened as a group of 10 heavily armoured devils with powerful auras entered. Dressed in high quality plate armour and equipped with as many as five different weapons each, these warriors stood out for being very unique and terrifying in their own way. No one in the room had ever seen warriors that had such powerful auras and specialised in so many weapons, leading some to believe that the warriors only carried the weapons for show.

"Wow...those are the Blood Guardians that the Blood Monarch Monarch of Destruction created! Only a month and they are probably the greatest warriors that have ever come to serve the palace!"

"Are you sure they were created by the monarch? News says that an unknown aide had trained them for the monarch. It's really hard to tell either way..."

"Whatever, just don't embarrass the me in front of those elites."

The Blood Guardians quickly made their way to the centre of the circular platform and a much more powerful guard left the formation and stood in front of his subordinates as the entirety of the students gathered in front of him.

"I am Coliart Exrum, 3rd Praetor of The Left Half. My squad will be responsible for today's masterclass." The leader said as he drew a sword from his waist.

"Many of you will know that the sword is the most versatile weapon there is, but do you understand why the sword will get you killed?" Quickly, Coliart sheathed his sword and rapidly withdrew a throwing knife from a compartment on his breastplate and threw it towards training dummy's head.

PUCCHII

"Because the sword cannot cover range and nor can it be used effectively against a skilled spearman. Instead of teaching the sword today, I will teach the fundamentals of a well balanced equipment set-"

"F**k that! The sword rules all. Only a coward would use a knife and arrows." A boy shouted from the background.

"Watch your tongue..."

"I am Roland Tyre, my father outranks you as the 1st praetor of the Left Half! You cannot say-"

"Watch your mouth." Simon said with a cold glare as he stared straight at Roland.

"Who the f**k are you?"

Quickly, Coliart looked at Simon and a cold sweat could be felt. He already knew that Roland would not live long.

"Simonifirac Crypts. I would like to duel you." Simon said as he drew a metal dagger.

"Hah! Do not blame me when I kill you! Not even your father can get revenge if it is a duel." Roland laughed as he unsheathed a scarlet longsword.

Entering the platform, Simon nodded at Coliart covertly, signalling the latter to move with his guards.

"The duel starts now!" Coliart announced as he threw an red handkerchief on the floor.

SLASH

Without a moment to spare, Simon phased in front of Roland with the aura of a 4th ranker and slit the latter's throat. And just like that, Simon killed him.

BANG

Suddenly another leader-like guard entered the sparring hall and went straight towards Rolands dead body.

"My son is dead?"

"Yes." Coliart replied as he shot him a peculiar glare.

"Worthless piece of s**t. Using my name to insult the word of a brother. So be it, I have 12 other sons that are much better than this one. He even raised his blade to my master...he deserves no love." The man murmured with a bright expression of hate towards his son as he burned what was left of the latter.

"The duel has ended! Simonifirac Crypts is the victor."

Instantly, Simon disappeared back to his room before anyone in the crowd could say a word.

'It seemed I have succeeded in making them completely loyal. It's a shame I got annoyed from just that, but when someone insults a piece of my work, I cannot stand it.'

'I just need to wait two years until I can leave this place.'
