"Luna..your mother and I have been thinking about this, I think its a great deal for you to accept this proposal." Adam tries to smile even though it is hard to do so right now.
"What? No. Is this some kind of prank, dad? I'm still a high school student." Luna rejected it.
"Honey, our country's legal age to get married are 16 and you're now are 18. You can marry him even though you're still in high school." Stella tries to persuade her daughter.
"But, mom. I gonna go into a college very soon, and how am I gonna take care of my husband? I mean, I still a girl who still want to enjoy their youth time."
"Dear, don't you read the rules? They say they gonna wire your money into your account every month, so that means you don't have to do a part-time job to save the money for your college tuition, right?" Adam grabs her hand and caresses it with gentle.
"But, I don't know him. How am I suppose to live with a man that I don't know and love?"
"Love can comes later. Once you know him, you'll fall for him."Stella looks at her husband.
"And what if I don't?"
"There's always an option for a divorce, right?"
"But to divorce him, I have to give him a child."
"There is no saying that you can't see your own child even though you're divorced, right? Let's stay positive first."
Luna knit her eyebrow. She flips the document and tries to find any word that saying she can't see her child if they were divorce. Yup, there is none saying that she can't see them. The deals only saying that the child will be under Wayne's care.
She then averts her eyes back to both of her parents. "Why do you want me to accept this proposal?"
"..."
Stella and Adam turn silent, the question stung both of their heart. Who wants to sell out their daughter like this? No parents would. But they also had no choice at this time.
"Listen, I know this sounds cheesy. But as a mother, I want my daughter to marry into a wealthy family. Wayne is one of the wealthiest family in this continent. I've looked out their information, and surprisingly, your future husband holding a third large amount of share of Wayne Corporation.
He's the young CEO of Wayne Association group, their family runs a multi-billionaire business all over the world. You'll be the richest young madam too."
Luna blinks her eyes a few times. This is totally illogical. "Mom..if they were totally rich like you said, why would they want me to be the bride? I mean..there are thousands more beautiful woman in this world who love this kind of fairy tales, right?"
Stella gulps a bit.
"Well, it seems like, among the thousands of beauties, you're the only one who caught by the queen bee's eyes."
"Hm?"
"It doesn't matter, dear. You both already met by accident. And the head of Wayne family wants you to be the bride. I don't see anything wrong about this."
"Huh?" Again, she was struck by the statement. 'When did I met him?'
"But-"
"Luna," Adam take a turn to coax her daughter. "We can't afford to offend them. You know we both gonna grow old and I won't be able to find any other job than what I have right now, right? So, please dear..think about it properly."
Luna turns silent. What did her father says is not wrong either, right? They just ordinary people. How can they afford to offend the wealthy family? With the power they have, they can easily make them live as a beggar. She finally lost to the argument.
"If you say so..then…" Luna took a pen from her pocket and flip the document to the last page.
Before she starts to sign on the paper, her mother touches her hand with teary eyes. "Are you sure, dear?"
Luna scrunches a bit to see her mother overly react. "If you don't want, then I won't."
Stella immediately wipes her tears, "No, no..this is actually a happy tear. Finally, my daughter will have a man in her life."
Chuckles, she squinted her eyes to her mother. "Geez mom.." She signs the paper and put the pen on the table.
"Thank you, dear. I don't know how to thank you enough for doing this." Stella went to hug her followed by her husband.
"Thank you, honey." Adam almost burst in tears too. She actually his lifesaver.
"It's okay. Like you said, If I don't love him by the time I realize it, I could always get a divorce. A child issue is a just..small matter, right?" She smiles at both of her parents.
Adam and Stella did not say anything. A child matter is the hardest part of life actually. But they both hope that with this marriage, her daughter would lead a happy life. At least, let both of them falling in love with each other so that this divorce matter won't arise in the future.
After a long hug, she finally realizes something. "Umm..when is the ceremonies happen?"
Adam look at Stella and then both of them blink their eyes a few times. "Uh, about that...I will give a call to this Wayne family later."
"Oh, okay." Luna put the document back into the envelop and give it to her mother. She ready to go upstairs and rest after a tiring day.
"Um, honey." Stella halts Luna in the middle of the staircase.
"Yeah?"
"Don't forget, it was a secret wedding between the family only. I know you may want to tell Carla about this-"
"Don't worry mom, I won't tell her."Luna reply and she continue to climb the stairs. Of course, she wouldn't tell her. She doesn't want her family to get trouble by the Wayne.
First, she has to marry this man first.
