Chapter 14. Taking the first step (1)
(3rd person POV)
"What….just…..happened…..earlier?"
Lin Ru murmured with a look of shock and disbelief. She was currently in the backstage thinking about the events which had happened earlier.
For some days, she was annoyed by a youth who kept visiting the bar. He didn't try to do anything excessive but his presence was enough to annoy her mood.
She had seen many type of people like him, he was just another noveau rich who wanted to take advantage of her.
That's what she thought before what happened today.
Today was just like another day for her but she didn't expected to see someone she didn't want to meet today.
They were the noveau riches who had tried to take advantage of her when she was contracted to her previous company.
They keep slandering get during her song but she endured and ignored them.
That was until they got even louder and even asked her to sing a song 'privately' for her.
She was close to tears back then and just when tears were going to come out of her eyes, the man she had only seem as a nuisance helped her.
He not only fought with the burly man, he also threatenend the noveau riches for her.
He made them apologize to her and then, he fled from the bar.
'She didn't even have time to thank him'
Just as she was having those thoughts, the bartender came from outside.
His expression was weird as he looked at Lin Ru.
"What happened with the boss?"
Lin Ru asked the bartender.
The boss she is talking about was the owner of Blue Dive bar. Today incident was too big and as it involved those rich young masters, it had escalated.
"The boss was angry. The situation was a mess. It seems like the family of those rich bastards demanded an explanation saying how their sons was threatenend or something"
"Then, will those rich families try to create trouble with the bar"
"It will not happen most likely as the incident was recorded in the security camera and those rich bastards also have some previous incidents. So, it will not create trouble for the bar but…."
"But?"
"The boss told me that he will be ending the contract with you"
"Huh! Why suddenly?"
"It seems like those rich bastards demanded it. They also wanted to get back at the one who threatened them but they don't know his name and their families didn't want to escalate it. So, they drive their fury at you"
Hearing that, tears came running down her eyes. She was only able to support her by working at the bar. If she didn't have that job, then she don't know what she will do.
"How about you sign with Global entertainment?"
The bartender suddenly asked her.
"Global….entertainment, yeah, that guy…..who fought..….with those young….masters, what happened.…..to him"
"You are talking about Ren, I don't know much but he's probably fine as those rich bastards probably didn't get him"
"It's a..….relief! I….still had to….thank him"
"If you want to thank him, why don't you join his company"
"Company! Yeah, that…..Global entertainment! I forgot that he was a young master"
"Lin Ru, you are mistaken. He's not a noveau rich"
"Huh, what are you saying?"
"Actually, I discovered some information about his company as I was interested in her. Global entertainment was opened by his father but is suffering loses for many years. There were rumours about it in the industry that it will be closed soon but it seems like Ren has taken over it"
"He's not a noveau rich!"
"From what I know, he had lived a ordinary life and is now looking for a new singer. He probably has plans to release a single or something. Why don't you think about it?"
"Let me think….for such time"
Her thoughts were in a mess to answer properly now.
The boy she had hated because she thought he was a playboy and a noveau rich is not one.
She was just mistaken about it and despite her treatment, he had ultimately saved her in the end.
She was feeling too terrible right now.
"I think you should sign with Global entertainment"
"Huh"
"I am saying this as I was part of the entertainment industry for a long time. That boy is young but he also had a mature aura around him. I don't know about other things but he will not treat you unfairly"
The bartender said those words as he walked towards the door but his steps faltered midway and he stopped and said.
"Lin Ru, I have said it previously but your talent is too great to waste. Fate is providing you a opportunity, don't miss it. You can't always fret over a playboy and waste your talent. Talents are really rare, you shouldn't waste them"
The bartender left after saying those words but his words still lingered on Lin Ru's mind.
After that, Lin Ru fell into a thought that seems like an eternity.
She thought about how as a teenager, she had came to this city to become a star and how she was left heartbroken after some years.
She also thought about her parents who she has been lying to until now and who were waiting for her to debut.
They had to endure their relatives harsh words say that their daughter would be making her debut soon.
She also thought about her age, she was already 23 this year, although she was young currently, these days stars above 25 are considered old.
Although she said that she was fine working in the bar, it wasn't like that. She wanted to stand on a huge stage and sing in front of hundreds of people who liked her voice.
Then, her thoughts went to the youth who had saved her. Their first meeting was hateful and she didn't like him at first but her thoughts have changed now.
After he had saved her, she had started to find himself a little nice compared to before.
'His face was punched previously, was he okay?'
Lin Ru couldn't help but feel worried about his injury. His injury was because of him, she felt that it was her responsibility that he got injured.
She wanted to ask him if he was okay but she didn't knew how to call him.
Thinking that, she suddenly remembered the name card of the manager she had received.
She quickly searched her bag and found the card. It was still in a perfect condition.
She hesitated at first but she ultimately dialed the number.
'I will at least meet him to check his injuries'
