Chapter 3. Entertainment world! Here I come (3)
After meeting with my mother, I directly went home and changed into some new clothes.
Since I have decided to take over my father's company, then I will have to do things steadily and quickly.
The share price of the Global entertainment is depleting every day.
There were rumours about how the company is going to be sold and much more.
Although Global entertainment was now just a company which is in dire straits, it is a company which have survived in the entertainment industry for years.
It has some reputation in the industry but hardly anyone outside the industry knows about it.
I called Zhang Yufeng, Uncle Zhang who was a director in the company that I will be coming. From the memories, I know that he was a close subordinate of my father and he was also extremely loyal.
Even when the company was in dire straits, he didn't left the company, he was even probably waiting for Ren to take over the company as its head.
I left my home and took a taxi to reach the company. My father's most properties and cars had already been sold and the only thing I have left is the house and the company.
Although the house was big, it is really uncomfortable going around without a car.
The capital of China in this world is also a big metropolitan city. Going around with a car is more comfortable than taking a taxi.
In the taxi, I was slightly nervous. It was my first time meeting my employees. I have to show them a good image.
That's why, I wore my best clothes for today. I was wearing a simple white t-shirt with blue jeans and I have a green color blazer over it.
With my black hair and handsome face, I was looking like a model.
I wonder if the people in my company will regard me as the president or a model.
While I was having those thoughts, the taxi finally reached the company.
Global entertainment just like other companies was on the entertainment district. In this district, all the major entertainment companies are situated.
You could even see some stars on the street sometimes.
I payed for the taxi and make my way to the company building.
It has 4 floors in total and it was quite big. Although there was a need of renovation, overall the company building was at least in a good shape.
As I approached the building, I noticed a middle aged man standing outside the building.
He was a burly man and there was slight nervousness on his face. He was even wearing a suit.
'He wasn't a debt collector, right'
My first thoughts were these seeing him, he certainly reminded me of the debt collectors.
But as far as I know, my father didn't took any loans and even if he did, he had certainly paid it back.
When I approached the office, he nervously looked towards me and immediately bowed 90 degrees when I reached close to him.
I was a little stunned by his action and moved two steps back.
"President Ren, nice to meet you. I am Bai Shu, the chief manager"
"A…manager"
I was relieved to know that he wasn't a debt collector but It was little unusual hearing him call me president.
"Why are calling me a president?"
"You are the person with the largest share in our company, it is only right that I call you president, President Ren"
"Yeah….you are right"
His reasoning was correct, I was the person with the largest amount of shares in the company and I have already decided to take over the company, many people will call me by president from now on, I should get used to it soon.
"Are you here to show me around?"
"Yeah, Director Zhang thought that you will be unfamiliar with the company, So he send me to show you around"
He replied in a blunt manner. He was too stiff around me. Maybe, it was because I was the president.
"Let's go to the conference room"
We moved towards the elevator and I can see that the entrance and the hallway was hollow. There was no one in there.
It seems like all of the employees were in the conference room just like I wanted it to be.
In the elevator, I started asking Bai Shu questions regarding the company. I at least wanted to get a little familiar with the company.
"Are all the trainees in their dorms?"
"Huh! Trainees, President Ren, the last trainee forfeited her contract yesterday"
"Huh!"
It seems like the situation of the company was lot worse than I thought.
The previous owner didn't have any interest in the company, So he didn't knew much about the company.
He was pretty useless if I thought about it.
Although Bai Shu was looking at me weirdly, I still kept asking questions. He was probably thinking something like 'Why don't you even know about your own company' but I decided to ignore it.
"How many employees are still left in the company?"
"There are about 20 including me and they all are in the conference room"
"There are less than I thought…."
I muttered that and kept asking him questions.
"Do you know which positions are vacant?"
"I don't know all of them but the PR team head position is vacant, there also the financial department and the members of the scouting team had all resigned"
Hearing him said those words, I was really dissapointed, the financial department and the scouting team is an essential part, it will be really hard without them.
While asking questions, we finally reached the 4th floor where the conference room was located.
I followed Bai Shu and reached the conference room.
Bai Shu opened the door for me and when I entered the room, all eyed were fixed on me.
Although all the people in the room were staring at me, I pretended to be calm and collected.
When I was a director, there were many times that I have to do a presentation in front of many people, it wasn't anything new to me.
"Xiao Ren, you are here, just like you said I have gathered all the employees here"
When I was standing there, a middle aged man in his 40s approached me, from what I can remember, he was Zhang Yufeng, the director of the company I have called.
"Uncle Zhang, let's start the meeting"
