Kira ran barefooted on the red carpets on the palace halls. She was still wearing her night dress and her hair was messy that it covered half of her doll like face.
She was still very pale and there is almost no hint of life in her face. Her movements were clumsy and she could barely stand, much less run but she just kept at it despite falling down a couple of times.
She missed him.
Although she had faith in him and trusted him with all her heart, she cannot erase this feeling of anxiety.
She was scared of that dream she had. She knew well that they are blessed with the power of clairvoyance and it helped them a lot, but it's not just a blessing.
To them, all the blessings they received is also a curse. Their foresights have always happened and is never wrong.
If a good thing will happen, then it will always happen, but that goes the same for bad things as well.
She may not believe it, but she is still scared of the possibility it might come true.
She missed him a lot and she wanted to feel the warmth of his presence and embrace. She loved him very much she can't and won't ever believe that her most dearest brother would one day leave her.
Her legs finally gave away and she fell once again. She was still too weak and she almost pushed herself to her limit.
She stared blankly to the floor. Flower petals, especially the roses are scattered on the marble floor and on the red velvet carpet.
She was already tired and she could no longer stand up but she clenched her fist and bit her lip, lifting herself up again and staggering to her feet.
She's not going to give up, not until she saw him, not until she was safe being held in his arms.
As she reached the door towards the study, she leaned on it slightly, catching her breath.
She can feel his presence inside. But for some reason, she was hesitating. She was scared. But she wanted more than anything else to find her dear brother and seeing his gentle smile at her again.
Mustering all her courage, she held the golden door knob and opened the heavy and large door.
With her current state, she could only open it enough for her to fit. She entered the room and looked around. The place remained the same as it always been.
It was a big room that is filled with bookshelves that reaches the ceiling that is at least thirty feet way from the floor.
Comfortable and elegant sofas and a coffee table lay on the floor and directly above it was a large chandelier hanging on the center of the glass dome ceiling.
Behind the seat and desk are tall windows with drawn think curtains. Each of the tall glass windows, hides a pair of glass doors to the small balcony outside of each window, allowing one to feel the fresh air when taking a break from studying or finishing a pile of paper works, or after finishing.
On the table, a pair of beautiful golden phoenix feather quills and some papers as well as stacks of books are placed.
And on the coffee table, there is a jar of cookies and untouched bars of chocolates. There was also books and papers on it as well as on the sofas and even at the floor.
Soft pillows, stuffed toys may also be seen on the marble floor and on the fluffy carpet that is lined with golden tread.
The room was warm and the air around it was filled with the scent of flowers, the old and worn out paper and books, and the smell of dust.
It was like how she had always seen it.
Kishi was there at the window, peering on the view outside as he tugged open the curtains.
Half his figure was illuminating from the light of the sun, while the other half was hidden by the shadow.
"Nisan..."
Kira softly called out to him and he responded by merely leaning head slightly to look at her.
He stared at her coldly with his other eye that was in the shadow glimmering with bright pink and gold.
His gaze was not the familiar look he always gave her. It was neither gentle and loving, nor empty yet caring. Instead, his gaze was cold and fierce it somehow scared her.
It was the very first time he looked at her that way.
She subconsciously took a step back but she bit her lip and approached him.
She hastily ran to him and warped her arms round his waist. However, Kishi this time did not respond.
He did not hold her back but he just stared at her with the same look he gave her earlier.
Kira did not mind it at all. She was happy enough to see him. Unfortunately, Kishi did not feel as delighted as she is.
His voice was cold when he spoke and a few words stuck like knife directly to her heart. "Let go of me."
What...?!
Kira was dumbstruck. She was bemused and thought she had misheard him, but apparently, she did not mishear anything at all.
"Let go." He coldly repeated.
She could not believe it all. She did not listen to him and hugged him even tighter. She did not want to let go and she's really scared right now it isn't the right time to pull jokes.
Seeing that she won't really let go, he stared at her with piercing gaze and forcefully pushed her.
Because she is still weak and haven't recuperated fully yet, she held him weakly and as a result, she was easily forced to let go.
As he held her shoulders, Kira looked at him with fearful and bewildered eyes. He on the other hand, looked at her coldly still.
Let's break up.
As their eyes met, he said that to her bluntly without any hesitation and as if it was nothing to him.
Kira on the other hand, was completely taken aback. Her heart pounded loudly and fast. He did not utter those words through his voice, but he said that to her through telepathy.
When their eyes met, nothing can be hidden and they can tell no lie to each other unlike when they speak with their voices. They can easily tell what the other was thinking. And at that moment, those words were by no means a lie. That was what he was thinking and that was clearly what he wants.
W-what do you mean? Nisan, I...I don't understand...
Isn't that clear enough? I don't want to put up with you anymore.
Tears welled from her already swollen eyes. She was crying for so long already she wanted to at least give this twin brother of hers her best smile despite her frail state, yet...how can she smile with all her heart when he said something so heart breaking?
She dared not look at him anymore and lowered her gaze.
Why?...
"Why?" She spoke quietly with her weak voice. "Nisan, why...? Why are you saying such nonsense? I don't understand... What has gone into you...?"
"I'm not speaking nonsense. I 'am merely relaying to you what I think. Haven't you confirmed that already? That I 'am telling the truth?" he said "But if you don't really believe me, then think of it as perhaps...maybe I'm not your brother. 'Cause for me, I don't have such pathetic sister like you."
SLAP!!
Kira slapped him at the face with all her strength. But he only grinned at her sudden reaction.
"My nisan....my nisan would never say such things!" she said with trembling voice.
He uttered no word and glowered at her coldly sending daggers straight to her heart, causing her to tremble at both fear and grievance.
She lost consciousness from pain and fear. She woke up from a frightening nightmare that caused her to cry for who knows how long it's a surprise her tears haven't yet dried up. And then this....this the first thing she will have to face after she just woke up.
Seeing his cold gaze at her, she felt this extreme pain in her heart. Has he really left her alone...? It can't be... She cannot believe it.
Haven't she got enough?! How cruel is Clover to actually take the most important and precious thing in her life?
Unable to endure it all, she wept as her tears flowed continuously like river. She clutched her clothes tightly and the suddenly ran out of the room, leaving him there alone.
