Back at the castle, the other E-class students are waiting anxiously in the dining hall.
It was already dinner and Airi, Rex, Lune, Kira, and Kishi along with Amili still hasn't returned yet, and they felt so anxious.
Mythica was walking around in circles and Bubblegum was like breaking the tea cup she was holding just by being tired of waiting for them.
"You should relax a bit. I'm sure everything's fine." Aspen said.
"It's so annoying! I told then not to go but they didn't listen!" Pearl wailed angrily.
"We should've expected that. You know those two." Aster said to her sister.
Holding the juice in his hand like wine, Aspen said with a smile. "You shouldn't worry too much, it's not gonna help anyway. And besides, they may be the youngest, but they're also the strongest."
Everyone exchanged looks but all remained silent. He was right, there's no point worrying. They are the most powerful among all of them and there's nothing they could do to help.
"Those bunch of idiots, they sure like causing trouble." Kin sighed
Miha pouted with her arms crossed. "You guys are so mean sometimes."
Aspen was about to say something to retort but there was a sudden pain in his chest that the glass of juice he was holding fell to the ground and shattered.
"Aspen!"
Everyone was momentarily stunned. They don't know what they should do. And the adults that are supposed to be with them are nowhere to be seen.
Aspen fell on his hand to the floor with his other clutching his chest. It was so painful he was trembling. His face is ashen and tears of cold sweat is trickling down his face.
The pain might sudden, but he knew clearly why he felt it.
Gritting his teeth, he muttered. "Damn Lune, what are you doing!"
*
Meanwhile, Lune gone berserk and trees are rising from the solid ground, covering the place with thick and twisted trunks of trees.
The ground, the walls and the stone ceiling were covered in wood and just by touching it would be really dangerous, not just to the enemy, but the others as well. It cannot tell which is friend or foe anymore.
"Damn, now what?!" Airi shouted in frustration, as he floated in the air, being careful not to touch the trees while dogging the vines that are attacking him.
The man knew Lune was a threat, but he didn't expect him to go berserk all of a sudden. These bunch of brats are indeed dangerous. He wondered what those people taught these pitiful children, but that was the least of his concerns.
More importantly, he needs to figure out a way to get out of there before the whole place collapse.
The stone that built the place was already crumbling to pieces. It won't be long till it caves in and they will all die there together.
He might be an earth mage but he doesn't have the power capable of building mountains unlike those Sacred royals.
It was such a waste that he wasn't able to claim his long-dreamt power, but his life is far more important.
As soon as he found an opening, the guy's skin turned stony and turned himself like a boulder then started rolling towards the exit.
The boys were all busy the did not have a chance to stop him. But now that the enemy is gone, their problem is how they're gonna make Lune snap out of it.
From the outside after wiping all the other lackeys out, Amili can feel the rumbling from the inside. The most worrying fact about it was sudden surge of magic that the clouds gathered and the wind blew terribly hard. The trees suddenly grew violently and the animals became restless.
She was anxious, and she know what's going on. Unfortunately, she can only wait for them, hoping that the children can handle things by themselves.
*
At the same time, in the castle, Aspen is almost fainting from the pain.
He was so frustrated he doesn't have any idea what to do. In his mind, he can vaguely see what Lune sees. Not that it can help in this kind of situation, but he can at least tell that its terribly bad.
"Damn it! LUNE, YOU'RE GONNA KILL US BOTH!!"
"You should calm down first, will ya?" Kin said to him as his best friend held onto him for support.
"How...how about talking to him?" Umi suggested. "You're the only one who could do it."
"Since the seal is being disrupted, Lune's magic in you is technically leaking out. Thus..."
"Thus, your consciousness is practically connected." Chisu added to her sister.
Gritting his teeth, Aspen spoke. "Whether I could speak to that idiot or not is not the issue right now. I mean, that idiot will probably not listen! Is he even awake right now?!"
"You'll never know until you try." Stated Lux
"Just die." Aspen snapped at him.
"Come on Aspen. Just be nice, I'm sure Lune will listen." Bubblegum told him.
Looking at her, Aspen considered them for a moment. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and tried to communicate with Lune in his sea of consciousness.
...Lune.....
Stop this already....
...Lune...
In his mind, Lune can hear someone calling out to him.
He was in a place unknown to him. He felt like falling into nothingness as the darkness surrounds him.
He felt pain all over his body, at the same time he can't feel anything at all. He felt warm, and cold. He felt sad and happy. He was angry for something he did not know why. He can't understand what's going on.
Was he in hell? Perhaps.
He hated himself for being this way. He thought himself as the greatest, yet he can clearly see that there are others that stand far above him. Others that are loved by nature more than him.
Being honest with himself, he felt like a cursed person, making it seem like magic loved him but in truth, hated.
He, he was always envious about the other children. Far more than they are envious of him.
He held vast knowledge. He knew everything, yet why can't he understand anything at all?
He doesn't understand why things have gone this way. He doesn't like it at all, he hated it.
After so long of struggling. He felt like giving up. He wanted to end his life once and for all.
He's done feeling this defeated even though he rarely lost. Of course, what's point of always winning when he doesn't understand the joy of victory, and only know the bitterness of defeat.
He's tired of living in this cruel world.
As Lune felt sinking even deeper and deeper into the depths of nothingness, he suddenly felt warm embracing him.
It was indeed warm. It was not something he could not understand, but it was the warmth he yearned for ever since he came to this world.
He was always surrounded by darkness. But there is this one light, that flickers and struggles to survive. He tried protecting it. But it faded and got enveloped by darkness.
As he sunk deeper, he opened his eyes.
Yes, that's right. That light did not fade at all. In fact, it grew even brighter.
His life, it did not belong to him. He shared this life to someone else. And he continued this life to protect the light. Those that was dear to him.
...Indeed. He was no longer alone....
...and this life...what right does he have to end it?
...when it did not belong to him at all...
Lune felt the warmth grew bigger inside of him. Ever since his childhood, he did not have the real power to rule over his own magic. But even so, he's not gonna let this unruly magic of him harm his dear friends, his family...
