The servants greeted them and bowed. Even though they were greeted with smiles, the atmosphere of the place changed drastically. It felt so lonely and sad. No wonder Airi did not want to return there anymore.
Kishi turned to Celes and apologized. "Sorry about him, he's just...well...not having a good time. Is that the right word?"
"Dunno." Kira shrugged.
Celes however, did not pay attention. It was her first time being on such a place that she can't help but be astonished.
In all that was happening previously, she did not have the time to appreciate being at the Leon palace. Yet even so, she can already tell that the Rosarose mansion is greater than it in every way.
The mansion was built on top of a mountain. The sceneries that surround it, as well as the beautiful flowers and lovely animals was simply breath taking for normal girls like her.
It was utterly beautiful. It was not in her expectation, nor did she ever dream to be able to be in such place.
But it suddenly occurred to her that that was of course, the life of the rich. She might not know much about the family ranks, but judging on how the Leon's crown prince bowed to them, it was obvious that they were greater than the great Leon itself.
At that moment as well, she cannot understand why they would carelessly bring a stranger like her into their territory. Perhaps it's because their children, but still, it was too careless. Especially since they already knew that she bore hatred for the nobles and royals. Don't they even know what danger is?
Anxious, she asked. "Are really that naïve and careless as to bring me here? Are you not afraid at all?"
The twins didn't even bother to look at her. "there's nothing much you could do even if you hate us." Kishi pointed out, in a matter-of-factly manner.
"And we already know that you sister, isn't that despicable." Kira added.
Celes can't help but snigger in their response. "How naïve you are to think of that. Though I admit you do have a point."
"You know, we are very sure that you will bring us no harm that's why we brought you here. We may not be able to read minds, but we can at least know what your intention is, or whether your liar, or perhaps someone who would bring us danger. And our instincts tell us that you're completely safe. Not to mention you're so bold that you can't pretty much hide anything." Kishi stated.
Celes was completely taken aback. It seems she the one who needs to be careful. She might already know that before, but she now realizes it even further that these so-called children aren't that simple.
"Your highnesses, it is almost dinner, I suggest you should go get ready." The head butler told them.
"Oh, right. Now that you mention it, we should really do." Kishi said as he looked at himself and his sister who beamed at him.
"Oh, and could you please help her, she would really need it." Kishi said, pointing a thumb at Celes, who did not understand what was going on.
"Of course." The butler nodded and signaled the other maids. They nodded at him, and proceeded towards her.
"Hey wait, what are you doing? Let go of me! AHH!!"
Clueless as she is, she got dragged out of the hall with a bewildered scream.
"Quite a handful friend you bought there I see..." The butler sighed helplessly. "...and quite unique. This might be none of my business, but where did you pick up a girl like her with so much potential?"
"We helped her." Kira proclaimed. "Sister Celes could so much things if she was nurtured."
"However, we don't know how a girl like her would end up as a commoner. It was also very unlikely that she's a disgraced child. From the looks of it, she's more like a fallen." Added Kishi. "It must be her ancestors though. She doesn't really have any powerful or majestic aura at all."
...
The two of them got a bath and got dressed. It was a relief for the both of them, as the clothing they were wearing for the past five days were so uncomfortable for them. But perhaps it's just their taste since they always wore high quality and fancy clothes.
Celes joined the three of them for dinner. Airi decided to come out of his room, though quite unhappy and refused to speak to them.
The twins were just as elegant as always, albeit them deciding not dress like the one they used to every dinner when they were at the palace.
The maids filled the table with so much delicacies, that Celes's mouth hung open with awestruck. She had never seen so much food before in her life. They were just poor and just eating to survive was enough for her, no matter what it looks or taste like. As a result, she was so surprised to have ever experience this all.
Not just the food, but they also dolled her up. She was wearing silken clothes of high quality and her carelessly cut hair was fixed so beautifully.
It was so sudden to her that she did not know how to proceed. Looking at the other three, she can't help but feel embarrassed. She was so clumsy and she also fear that she might stain her dress. She did not even know how to hold the spoon, the fork, and the knife properly.
Miserable she gave up and placed down the spoon. Living with these people is so difficult. She preferred living a simple and normal life instead.
Seeing her depressed state, a kind servant approached and helped her. She was utterly grateful to her. It was also because of her that she made it pass through that day.
It was already night and the children got to bed early. The servants prepared a room for her to sleep, not far from Airi's. It was a bit too big and glamorous for her that she can barely sleep so she decided to take a stroll.
The halls were dark and dim lights were the only ones lighting the way. The light crystals were supposedly bright, but it was barely illuminating the place because it was blocked by thick petals of roses that was hanging in the walls with it.
As she silently walked down the halls, she caught sight of a slightly open door on her way. Peeking through it, the room was also dark but was surprisingly brighter than the halls.
It was lighted solely by the moonlight, passing through the open windows as the curtains softly flutters like a butterfly in the wind. It was a lovely room that was warmly designed.
The color scheme was mostly pink and black. The curtains, the carpet, the decorative cloths are all pink, laced with black. A western type room, that was neither too elegant nor simple. It was but a place with a loving atmosphere, warm and kind, perhaps something that was specifically designed for a gentle and loved child.
Peeking further, she saw a canopy. Three young children were sleeping there so soundly. They looked so adorable and innocent at this moment, her heart easily softened.
Being children born with silver spoons, she did not expect them to be like this. Most nobles or royals have multiple rooms, one for study, a lounge, a bed room, and so much more. But these children didn't have that much requirement and usually stays at their bedroom, if not, the study.
It is also weird that they sleep together, on the same room, and on the same bed. But to her, maybe it's just their way of showing each other comfort. To give each other warmth and give them good rest, thinking that if they were together, there wouldn't be any nightmares. It was to hide their loneliness, and make them feel safe in the presence of each other.
Now that she thought about it, she wondered what these young children have gone through to seek security with each other. She also wondered where their parents are. But perhaps their just busy that they can't look after their children. Or so she thought.
Sighing, she quietly closed the door. After seeing that, she suddenly changed her mind and decided to went back to her room.
After it all, she can't help but think. The children may be kind and gentle, they may also look innocent sometimes, but she knew that they were not like any other. But now, they were like babies, so young and delicate. Just like all the children in their age. Either way, she couldn't care less. It was none of her business after all.
