Chapter 89 - Chapter 88 Deity with two souls

Banging the door, Kishi called out to him. "Dammit Airi, Open the door!"

"Please Airi...talk to us..." Bubblegum pleaded with tears welling from her eyes.

Clicking his tongue, Kishi clenched his fist and turned to the butler. "Open it."

The butler bowed and took a key from his pocket and unlocked the door to Airi's room. As soon as it's opened, they slammed the door open and the three of them entered Airi's bedroom.

It was a spacious room, but of course, not as big as Kishi and Kira's. It was an elegantly designed room. The walls are designed with fine intricate patterns. There are two window seats, but are both blocked with thick dark-pink curtains with black laces. A beautiful laced carpet was at the floor, and a gold lined canopy with the same dark-pink and black laced decorations.

The room had a warm and serene feel to it, unlike the twins' as their bedroom's atmosphere had a pure and innocent impression of it.

Amidst in all that warmness, Airi was sitting by his bed, curved up into a ball as he hugged his knees. He was very pale and thin. He hadn't eaten for a whole week now, only his magic was keeping him up right now.

Kishi strode towards him and grabbed him in the collar. "AIRI WHAT THE HELL?!! Do you know how worried we are about you?! SNAP OUT OF IT AIRI AND LOOK AT ME!!"

Bubblegum was dumbfounded and was about to calm him down, but Kira tugged her sleeve. She turned to look at her, and the latter merely shook her head. With a sigh, she chose not to intervene and just looked at the boys.

Airi raised his head to him and Kishi was stunned to see his look. His eyes were frighteningly lifeless, his sleek face was greyish and his previously rosy lips was out of color.

Kishi wasn't prepared to see him like this. It was terrible...like the most beautiful rose that instantly withered, lost of all its life and color.

"Airi....you...."

As his grip loosened, Airi made him let go and he just gazed blankly. Kishi sighed and slumped at the bed as he looked at the girls.

"You deal with him, I...can't do it..."

Bubblegum instantly ran to Airi and embraced him as she sobbed. Kira in the other hand, bit her lip as she tugged her brother's sleeve, with her other arm clutching Fuffy.

"Nisan..." Kishi placed a hand on her head and forced an encouraging smile.

"It's gonna be alright...I hope..."

The three of them stayed there for the rest of the day. None of their attempts, however, to talk to Airi worked. He just ignored them and stare at them blankly as if they weren't even there to begin with. He was also very silent that not even a single word had escaped his mouth.

As Bubblegum stayed with him all day and held his hand tightly as they wandered around the place to give him a sense of peace, the twins decided to do the paper works that Airi never touched and had piled up for the whole week with the head butler's guidance. Even though he was supposed to give him guidance, he only watched from the side lines with an astonished look on his face.

The work that had piled up for that week was overly big. The news spread fast and there are a lot of things they had to deal with. The servants did their best to help the child, but there are things they had no authority to do.

Meijin's help would be really needed at this kind of situation, but the work in Darkrose's mansion tripled and he would have to take his meals in his office and stay late if he wanted to finish it all. At that reason is why the butler was deeply astounded as he watched the siblings do the work.

They did it fast with complete coordination. From others' eyes, Kira was the one who is reading it all, while Kishi is the one who does the other things as if he read them himself. In reality though, the two of them were casting a spell that enables Kishi to get the same information that Kira got as if he read them himself. It was a spell they created themselves which they called intelligence link one that enables them to gather the exact same amount of information even if only one of them really read it. In short, know what the other knows.

Them doing it all with ease shouldn't be that surprising. They were still royals after all, even if the Enchanted palace had almost no work to do, and the fairies would usually handle most of it for them, they were still taught how to handle things such as that.

By the end of the day, the two of them had finished everything. Kishi was sitting by the fireplace reading a book while drinking hot chocolate. Kira was slumped at the floor not far from him while playing with Fuffy, who was once again mobile and a spirit.

There was long silence between the two of them. Bubblegum and Airi already went to sleep and the two of them are alone. Kishi moved his gaze up in front of him, and Kira was standing before him with an uneasy look on her face.

"Kira...?"

She moved closer to him and buried her face on her brother's chest as she sat on his lap. Not that prepared, Kishi can only sigh helplessly and caressed her hair.

"Once again, everything's gonna be alright...how many times will I have to tell you that?"

"I know...it's just that, I didn't expect things to turn out this way...I'm sorry..."

Kishi wrapped his arms around her as she helplessly curved up into a ball and buried herself further to him. "There's nothing be sorry about..." he told her gently.

"But I always gave you so much trouble..."

"I don't mind." He simply replied. "Kira, if it's for you then I'll do anything. You know that..."

"Yes..." she hesitated, though nodded.

It was already late at night before the two of them decided to go to bed. Like back in the Darkrose mansion, the two of them slept with Airi and Bubblegum was also there.

Kira climbed up the bed, while Kishi closed the windows and the curtains. As she looked at Airi, she can't help but frown in anxiousness. He just looked as pale, helpless and restless, as his brows furrowed with his nightmares.

Kira looked at her dear brother who also gazed at her back. In a blink of an eye, the room seemed to have disappeared into nothingness.

As the two of them looked around, they saw nothing but darkness. A light appeared followed by several others. The void instantly turned into a limitless galaxy with millions of stars.

They held each other's hand and turned around, only to see Astraeus sitting there at his usual throne, grinning at them.

"Astraeus, your mean" Kira grimly stated.

The guy bursted out of laughter and looked at the two of them. "I merely granted them their wish"

"But you don't have to kill them. Look at what you've done." Kishi told him, but he just sneered

"Everything has a cost. I gave the boy a stellar life but I can't just get that life from anywhere. I gave him everything he should've had but there has to be something in exchange. Just like his parents he had two choices. Whether to accept that power and lose everything he had right now but will gain more in the future, or stay as he is now and lose those that he will eventually still gain in the future." He casually said. "I actually believe that he made the right choice, and I did no wrong."

"But he wasn't prepared 'cause you haven't told him everything." Kira said

He shrugged. "He should've known what was coming. He was way too naïve."

"He is just a child" Kishi reminded him, but once again, Astraeus didn't care.

"You may be the god of the heavens, but you're evil Astraeus. But wait, you're not Astraeus right now, aren't you? Amatsu-mikaboshi..."

He just smirked at her in what she just said with hidden intentions in his eyes. "Why do you know so much?" he asked

"Once again, we don't know anything. Were just saying obvious the things we see. Were just as innocent as everyone else..."
