By the next morning, the children were asked to have an audience in Meijin's study. The room was spacious and was two story high. It was filled mostly with bookshelves and large piles of paper work that needs to be done. A sofa and a coffee table were at the center. At the opposite of the door was the head family's desk where Meijin was currently sitting, and behind him was large windows with drawn curtains.
Neon was also there, looking at them slightly upset with their behavior. Aside from Meijin who was sitting at his table, the three guys that they beat up yesterday was also there, along with their fathers. The butler that accompanied them are also there, as well as the girl.
The moment they entered; Neon spoke. "I'm disappointed with the three of you"
Hearing that, the three of them turned to stare at the poor butler who felt a chill as the children looked at him suspiciously.
"You sold us out?" Airi whispered to him in a cold manner.
The poor guy was shaken by his gold gaze and bowed apologetically. But no matter whether he wanted to keep his mouth shut, Meijin and Neon's authority was still greater than Airi that he had no choice but to obey them instead.
"Airi," Neon glared at him. "...I heard what you did yesterday, and that's not right of you"
"Oh yes, yes. These young boys have suffered a lot you see."
A guy shamelessly said while gesturing toward the boys that are still severally injured and covered in bandages. As Airi looked at them, they all flinched and trembled.
"So what? I don't care. Besides, I only did that to teach them a lesson" said Airi
His mother was outraged. He had no reason, nor right to be this way. No matter what the circumstances are, Airi should not act this way, and wasn't raised to be so.
"This isn't how you punish someone Airi! We already enough to deal with right now, and then attitude of yours. Can't you be more behave? What will your father say if he found out about this?! Don't bring shame into our family!"
"Tsk!" Airi clicked his tongue.
He was clearly annoyed. To him he felt wronged. His mother that should be defending him right now was scolding as if he was wrong. It's not like those guys will stop their misdeeds just by talking to them. That's the reason why he did that anyway. And besides, he was merely acting on self-defense! He didn't even touch them. And there's also the fact of what might happen to Kira or the girl if they didn't intervene? Those guys are clearly jerks, and they deserve what they get.
Not having the patience to listen on this crap and ruin his day further, Airi said to them before storming off. "Like I said, I don't care. And I'm also clearly not the one who wanted to go outside. In fact, if I could stay in my room all day, I would. But you guys are the ones who kept pushing me to do what I don't want, so don't blame me for whatever I did!"
With that, he slammed the door and left. There was silence in the room before the same guy who spoke earlier broke it. "What a rotten child I see..."
Hearing what he said, Kishi stared coldly at him, making him shudder. "Whatever he does, you can't judge him for it..."
He shifted his eyes to the injured boys and continued, "What about them? Running around like they own the place, molesting others, and tormenting the weak. What gives you the right to judge him? I dare say your probably worse, shameless"
Kishi also left the room leaving everyone stunned. Noticing that she was the only one left, Kira bowed nervously and hastily went after her brother.
The others are speechless, but Meijin was impressed. He leaned forward and rested his chin on his hand, he said, "Kids these days huh?" He smiled "Though I'm impressed, they may have taken things too far, but I can't say they were wrong"
"They were also neither right" Neon added
"Perhaps. But if I were them, I think I would've done the same thing. The only thing they lack is authority, don't you think so Neon?"
She sighed, "Whatever, but I won't tolerate it"
"Um..."
They all turned to her. She kowtowed in front of them and sincerely apologized. "I'm sorry! T-this is all my fault! Please punish me!"
Taken aback by her sudden actions, Neon crouched down and held her up. "It's not your fault dear, and you shouldn't apologize. Though I must say, I'm the one who should be thanking you right now. I heard you helped darling Kira when she got herself lost. You even protected her from harm. I 'am utterly grateful."
"I-I'm honored, Milady!" She bowed to her again, with her face all red.
~~*~~*~~*~~
In their room, Airi buried himself under a pile of pillows, while Kishi was leaning on it while reading a book. Kira laid flat beside him flipping through the pages of her own book.
"I hate them all" Airi grumbled
Ignoring him, Kishi asked, "Want to spar?"
Suddenly jerking up, Airi sent the pillows flying everywhere and he stared at him with a weird expression.
"You know what? You're really making me feel weird. What's up with you?"
"Just bored" Kishi shrugged as he flipped to next page.
Airi studied him for a moment before sighing and sinking down to what's left of the fluffy pile. "Just don't plan to kill me this time..."
"don't worry, I won't"
And so, the two of them had a friendly duel while Kira watched them from the sidelines, eating ice creams.
The two of them decided to just use wooden sword except for real ones. As Airi looked at his, he started doubting whether it was a good idea or not.
"I hope this sword will last..."
"I think it'll hold out till the end"
"You think?" Airi looked at him. "Well, go easy on me alright."
Neon and their supposedly visitors -- as Neon forbid them to leave and stay longer after what happened that morning -- along with Meijin -- who was on the brink of giving up in dealing with everyone -- was passing by and they happened to notice the two boys and Kira.
Curious of what might come off it, they decided to stop for a while and watch. The three boys along with their fathers took that opportunity to see for themselves what the great Rose clan can actually do.
The girl on the other hand, jumped from the railings and went to where Kira was at. The latter merely greeted her and offered her an ice cream which she refused.
"Don't you think being here is a bit dangerous?" She asked earnestly
"Worry not sister, Airi's spells won't reach us, and nisan's spells are ineffective against me" Kira replied confidently.
The girl stared at her first before turning her eyes to the boys. As the wind blew and the birds flew, the two of them simultaneously lunged at each other.
As their swords crossed, the shock waves washed through the entire ground, destroying the grass and cutting them into pieces. Airi was first to make the next move and slashed with a big arc made by his now glowing sword, but Kishi effortlessly parried his blow, and made an attack of his own. Realizing the danger, Airi jumped backward out of his range and sent an arc of glowing rose petals that collided with Kishi's.
Seeing that Airi wasn't taking him so easily, Kishi straightened himself up in an offensive stance, pointing his sword at Airi with one hand and gathered magical energy around him.
The wind around him blew hard and several black and pink petals appeared, swirling around him. Airi also did the same, both to him and his sword was covered in a thick like cloud of pink petals.
Unlike Kishi whose magic is always at an advantage, Airi's magic is much stronger when his at his terrain. However, if he get's stronger, Kishi would too.
The guest's jaws dropped as they witnessed the sight before them. They were so young yet so powerful! So much, that they trembled in its presence alone. They now understand what the triple S-class families are like. Neon and Meijin though, was not at all impressed. To them, the children are being held back.
