At the garden of Darkrose mansion, the children had appeared out of thin air along with Sychi. Terror was still visible in their faces; it was obvious that something had happened before they got there.
Meiin noticed their presence and came running towards them from a nearby garden gazebo. When he saw them, he started to feel terrible.
Weak after all that happened, Kira slumped down to the ground still trembling and refused to let go of Kishi's hand. Kishi remained standing but was in deep daze, while Airi fell down with his hand on the ground, looking lot terrible than the other two.
Sychi was also there, but when Meijin looked at her, she avoided his gaze, looking glum.
With the three of them being there and with their sullen look, he can only comprehend one thing from it, but he refused to believe it. He must not jump to any conclusions, there was no proof, it wasn't true. And while he was convincing himself that it was all a lie, Neon came running towards them.
Seeing the all children, she shook her head and covered her mouth as tears once again flowed from her eyes. Shaken, Meiji looked at her with disbelief, trying to wake himself up from this nightmare.
"Neon....."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry...b-but he's gone...he, he's not going to come back to us anymore..."
Taken aback by what she said, Meijin felt himself falling into nothingness. He can feel his face draining out of color, he started trembling as his heart ached a lot, throbbing painfully as if it would bust out of his chest.
Even though, all around him was all proof and even Neon said it herself, he still can't believe anything. Or rather, he doesn't want to believe anything.
Was he the worst? Why are both his elder siblings left him alone? Is he the only one who treasures them enough to leave them behind like this? Or, was he not as important as the children that they would leave him in order to protect the younger ones? If so, how can they be so unfair?
"THAT'S A LIE! He won't leave me! He can't leave me!"
With that said, it was too late to do anything more. They must face reality that he won't be coming back anymore. However, Meijin still refuse to accept it.
He turned around and gestured to leave, Neon though tried her best to stop him.
"No! Stop! Where are you going?"
"Isn't it obvious?! I'm going to find him!"
"No! Please....stop..."
Neon wrapped her arms around him and refused to let him go as she cried on his back. She was sobbing with so much tears that Meijin was forced to just admit it.
What's the point? It's not like he could turn time to change anything. But the skies haven't declared his death yet, so that means his still alive.
Staring at the sky, it was bright blue and the clouds drifted along with the soft wind. The sun was shining brightly as well. It was, until the sky darkened and turned red. The clouds, the sun, the sky is all red. It happened so instantly that the phenomenon was deemed rare. Unlike any magic spells, that occurrence happened solely by the nature itself.
The whole world can see it. It was a proclamation of death; a death of an immortal, beings who rarely exist in the world.
It disappeared as instantly as it appeared. Unlike that day nine years ago when Amira and Jen died, the crimson skies lasted quickly and didn't take a whole day and night to be shown. And just like then, Meijin felt his heart breaking once more. First his dear elder sister, and now his eldest brother.
There were only the three of them. Together they lived happily despite any circumstances. Their family came through a lot of things. Back then, the family of Darkrose and Rosarose are mortal enemies. And their father was the one who was running the family business.
He eventually adopted James, and they later found out that he was the only remaining survivor of the Celestial children, which are believe to be born from the stars. Seven years after, Amira eventually came to the family. She was just a six-year-old girl so innocent and was scared, but she coincidentally found herself on the doors of her real family. She, however, didn't know that and only their father does, and he made it all appear that she was adopted to the family as well.
The two children then adored each other and cared for each other like a real family for another six years until they finally found their missing mother. It was also then when Amira found out that she was Darkrose's first daughter, therefore, the heiress of the family.
Not long after, Meijin was born. He was an intelligent child but he hated his elder sister at first, but he accepted her in the age of three. Weird as it is, Meijin started to attend school as a member of the first generation of E-class in the age of three, but managed to keep up well with his two elder siblings. His physical appearance grew up fast and despite being twelve years younger to Amira, he didn't look that much younger than her at all.
The three of them together was everything to him. Later on, they became a legend and was named as the Three Rose Immortals. Everything was perfect, until they found out about the curse of the Rose clan.
They found out that both Amira and Meijin were the nine-hundred-ninety-nine-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-ninth reincarnation of the legendary cursed twins of the Sacred empires of Clover one million years ago, and their offspring would be the millionth, which were believed to be the resurrection of them once again that would brought the end of Harmonia as well. But since Meijin was younger, they just knew that Amira's children would be twins and are the children of the legends.
Meijin didn't like the idea of it, so he once suggested to just get rid of the children. But both James and Amira told him for being childish.
And after they were born, Amira eventually lost her life. He was just thirteen back then when it happened, and he was deeply devastated. He loved his sister so much that he can hardly accept her death at all. And now, even James had left him. He was in pain. He was searching for someone to spend his long-felt anger on, yet there was none. He can't blame the children for it, after all, both of them willingly sacrificed themselves for them. No matter how much he wanted to disappear from this world once and for all, only he made a promise to live.
...It's unfair......
Just as he was breaking down, Airi was already lost. Tears flowed from his eyes and he mumbled in a soft voice. He was trembling and couldn't stop, his hands were also ice cold and every warmth around him seemed to vanished. Sadness and bitterness crept all over him. He was feeling hopeless. His world seemed to have shattered in an instant.
"Dad...."
Seeing that he was probably traumatized after what happened, his mother rushed to him and gave him a warm embrace. The child merely sobbed silently in her arms. She was in daze for a moment, she didn't know how long can the child last. He was born emotionally weak and needs a lot of attention. This worried her a lot.
It was Kira's quivering gentle voice that brought all of them back to reality.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...." Tears welled from her eyes uncontrollably. "It's our fault, isn't it? Why does everyone have to die? Are we really that bad? Are we not worthy to live? Why is everyone throwing their life away for us? We'll bring only destruction to this world, right? Why? What's the point in everything? I don't understand..."
All their gazes fell on her. Kishi can't help but held her hand tighter. He just had to admit, he felt the same. Neon, Sychi and Meijin merely stared at her before looking at each other.
Sniffling, she continued "...It's our fault, it's all our fault uncle died. Even mommy and daddy died because of us. I don't want it, I don't want anyone to die anymore, not for us. I don't want it, I don't want it, I don't want it. We don't deserve that from them, we aren't worthy of being here. We'll only bring you all pain, I don't want us to be the reason of anyone's demise, we'll rather not exist if that's the case........"
