Meanwhile, the Doctor was reading the nurse's report for Patient No. 4. The patient's records are all fine, it seemed that he was just sleeping continuously for more than 3 weeks. The Doctor took a step closer to the patient when suddenly, the IV drip started to turn blue. The heart monitor started to beep rapidly like the patient has been alarmed. The nurse thought that the patient is under shock but she was startled when the Doctor was not moving, he seemed to be frozen in place. She hurried over to nudge the Doctor for action.
The Doctor was looking at the drip. The nurse followed his eyes and was shocked when she realized that the drip was frozen. The patient's eyelids continued to flutter, trying to open them up. The Doctor immediately pulled out the needle from the patient's hand and the machine quiets down. A visible sweat dropped from the Doctor's forehead.
"Doctor, we need your assistance! Patient No. 5--" The transmission is cut off. Panic is audible on the attendant's voice. "Don't reinsert the drip. Watch him closely." The Doctor hurried over to the next room.
"Open the door!" the Doctor tried to push the door open but something inside is preventing him from doing so. He tried to twist the doorknob while banging on it. "I can't move! Help me! Doctor!" The attendant's voice is filled with terror. The Doctor flung himself onto the door to force it to open but to no avail. His whole being panicked and his back's already drenched with sweat within a few minutes since the first patient woke up.
...
"Dr. Zen, we need assistance here. Doctor's having trouble with Patient No. 5. Please help with Patient No. 2." Zen snapped from the trance she's in when she heard the radio chatter. She gently touches the girl's face. "Let me check this. I will be back in a bit," she whispered and the girl nodded.
Zen moved over to Rm. 309 where Patient No. 5 was. A gush of calmness greeted her when she opened the door. It feels like all her negative feelings were washed away. The atmosphere was so serene that it felt like you're walking on air. The girl on the bed was sitting up and there seems to be a halo over her head. The attendant was standing by the side of the bed.
"Everything's okay. I just wanted you to see this," the attendant said in a soft voice. "She's saying something I cannot understand."
Zen took a step closer to the bed. The girl smiled at her and she felt her heart relaxed. This feels so good and wondered, 'Is she doing this?'
"Take me to him," the girl suddenly asked.
'Oh, my! Even her voice is so heavenly calming.' Though Zen is still in a daze, she just nodded on the girl's request, but wondered who is 'him'. As if on cue, the Doctor's voice rang out, "Zen, we need assistance in Rm. 404! I've already called the security. Hurry up!"
"Tell him to make them go away," the girl's voice was firm, and even when giving an order, it doesn't seem so. It's like you won't refute to whatever she's saying.
"Withdraw the security, we don't need them. It will agitate the patient more," she hurriedly responded to the Doctor.
"Okay, just hurry up!" The Doctor was in a panic but managed to inform the security to go on standby.
The attendant had already placed the girl onto the wheelchair when Zen turned around. They hurried to the elevator to move up to the 4th floor and since it was wee hours, there's not many people around. And surprisingly, the other patients on the floor were undisturbed. As soon as they walked out of the elevator, the Doctor came into view. He had been trying to open the door but there's a force on the inside keeping it shut.
"Stop!" The girl with Zen struggled to stand and walked to the door. The Doctor stopped immediately and stepped away to give her space.
The girl touched the doorknob and whispered in a soothing voice, "KataigĂda, it's me. Open the door." The door creaked open and revealed a petrified attendant, unable to move. The room's atmosphere started to ease when the girl stepped forward. The little boy on the bed was in a fetal position and is wrapped with the hospital blanket. He opened his eyes and looked at the girl with relief, the fear inside him subsiding, replaced with hope. "Jeno."
