Kenlus awakens in the middle of the cross road on a soft dirt patch. Kenlus stretches his body thinking he is still in the tent that his family has set up "ughh it hurts, why I'm i so sore?"
Kenlus takes a look around and realizes he isn't in the tent that his family had set up. "where I'm I?"
"MOM, DAD, ZENA IS ANYONE THERE" Kenlus starts shouting his family memebers names in hopes if hearing anyone of them.
Kenlus didnt panic in this type of situation he remained calm and vigilant of his surroundings. Kenlus survey's the area he awakens from finding no clues to where he is or how he got here.
Kenlus only sees a rough dirt path that seemed like very few people cross in this direction. This should be the correct direction he thinks to himself, the other route that his parents had taken was also a rough dirt path.
"MOM, DAD, ZENA ARE YOU GUY'S AROUND, HELLO IS ANYONE THERE" Kenlus shouts at the top of his lungs to see if anyone will respond to his shouts.
Kenlus still had the voice of a child as he was only nine years of age. Kenlus already went through the talent ceremony, his parents were very proud of him of having affinity towards magic qi he will be able to become a wizard and work for the kingdom in the future.
The work most wizards do is to protect the kingdom and educate the new generation of new magic skills for next generation to become stronger than the last. Every kingdom has to have a foundation for its wizards and warriors or else the kingdom will fall behind the times and will get overrun by other kingdoms who will gladly use the resources in a better way.
Kenlus walks north of the rough dirt path as he senses that going north in the direction of the sun is the safest bet to see people. Kenlus hopes in finding citizens of the same kingdom so he can ask where he is.
Kenlus over a couple of hours walking on the tough dirt path starts to worry about his family "I hope nothing happened to them"
The anxiety hasn't set in for Kenlus yet as this was his first time traveling alone, he felt a certain amont of freedom as a bird who journeys alone on its first flight from its nest.
After half a day has passed no signs of his family members or any people on the road. The anxiety of being alone starts to kick in, he starts to worry about his own saftey.
Kenlus decides to lay down on a big boulder with a smooth surface. "I was happy in being alone for a while i thought i will be able to adventure by myself without anyone scolding me. Now im just worried about my family i want to know if they are okay, i want to be okay as well. i know father doesn't have any magic qi or spiritual qi. people bullied me for having a father like him and i dont blame them when push comes to shove how can he protect us. I never wanted to tell him this directly to his face but i was lucky not to be a cripple like him i dont know what i would have done if i was like him, i probably would have blamed it all on him for having his blood running through me"
Kenlus hears a horse carriage approaching near by. Kenlus gets up from the boulder to look at the horse carriage that is approaching him. The horse carriage looks familiar to him as if he had seen it somewhere before. Kenlus shouts to the horse carriage that is aprocaching him closer and closer "HEYYYYY"
A middle aged man with regular common features can be seen whiping the horses to make them go fast, when he hears a voice in the distance. The middle aged man takes a look and sees a familiar silhouette of a boy standing on the top of a smooth boulder.
"Kenlus is that you?" the middle aged man that seemed to be familiar to Kenlus asked.
Kenlus recognizes the voice of the middle aged man that is driving the carriage. "Uncle Bene, its me Kenlus"
Benelix stops the horses and gets down from the carriage to look at Kenlus.
"it is indeed Kenlus, how did he get here?" Benelix asks himself.
"Hey Kenlus how did you get here" Benelix said in a worried tone.
"Uncle Bene I dont know either of how i got here i woke up a couple hours ago finding myself on this rough dirt path. i was hoping to meet people to see where my family is"
Kenlus explains to Benelix how he got here and how he had been on this rough dirt path for a while. Benelix doesn't understand how Kenlus got here either he remembers meeting Belus about a day ago, but Belus was resting in a remote area with hills so he should be atleast half a day behind him.
"Kenlus you don't know where your parent's are, I'm worried about them."
"Uncle Bene i really don't know where they are."
After asking question again Benelix starts to worry about Selins, Belus and Zena. I hope they are ok he thinks to himself.
"Kenlus get on my carriage, my daughter is sleeping in the back you should also sleep in the back as well and get some rest. Im headed back to where i last saw your family, I'm worried about them i hope they are all ok. I dont remmber them crossing paths with me and im one hundered percent sure they wouldnt just leave you in the middle of no where."
Benelix becomes worried about Belus family he wants to head back as soon as he can to check if they are ok.
Kenlus nods his head to Benelix "Ok uncle Bene im worried about my family as well"
Kenlus gets on the carriage and heads towards the back of the carriage where he sees Elise sleeping peacefully. I should get some rest as well Kenlus thinks to himself. Kenlus lays down on the hardwood across from Elise he doesn't want to disturb her sleep. Kenlus was extremely tired from all the walking he had done earlier even the hardwood of the carriage seemed as comfortable as a hay bed.
"I hope my family is ok, i dont know how i managed to find uncle Bene on this remote road. I'm gald that i ran into him instead of some stranger off the road." Kenlus speaks softly to himself.
Meanwhile Benelix turns the carriage head south the opposite direction of where the city is. Benelix wants to find his friends family as soon as possible he makes sure to whip the horses a few more times for them to run as fast they can. The sooner he can arrive towards where he last saw his Belus family the better.
After half a day of traveling on the rough dirt road the horses started getting tired. Benelix has red eyes as he didnt get a wink of sleep for the past couple of days. Benelix can't afford to sleep as he has his daughter to protect, if Benelix wife was still alive he wouldn't have to worry of his daughter not leaving his sight in times like these.
Benelix wife passed away from childbirth twelve years ago when she gave birth to Elise. The birth of Elise was the greatest joy in his life but was also the worst day in his life. Benelix has never celebrated a birthday party for his daughter as that was the day that his wife has passed away.
Benelix wife was named Elise he had named his daughter the same name as his wife. Benelix named his daughter after his wife in order to honor his wife he didnt want her just to pass away and not leave a legacy behind.
After a while of thinking about the past Benelix sees a familiar carriage in the distance. One that belonged to his friend who he calls a brother Belus. Belus would always drive his own carriage yet this time what he saw wasn't Belus driving the carriage but instead it was Selins.
Benelix couldnt see the sadness on Selins face as she was to far away as the carriage approached closer Benelix shouted her name.
"SELINS"
