Chapter 1 - The underground world

In the far north, beneath the snowy mountains, there was a dwarven city called Ner Moldir, built deep within the mountains, the beauty of this fortress city was legend, which was known to all the world by its fascinating stony architecture.

Everything was made of stone: the houses, the stairs, the bridges, the gates, even the king's throne. Ner Moldir was ruled by Bolgar gemgatherer of the kingdom of Jorennon, it was like a magical city, the radiance of the roofs was as resplendent and shiny as ever, clearly affected by surrounding gold and gem mountains, which were truly a sight to behold.

These roofs coupled with the countless intersecting roads made of pure silver, created a breathtaking scene akin to a living paintings, eternal and vivid, the stone pillars which stood erect and majestic adding more beauty to this holy land of dwarves. The uncountable stairs, the sturdy bridges that remained unscathed despite the passing of times, it is these things that allowed Ner Moldir to stand tall for a thousand years.

The dwarves were popular with their industrial maintenance, the city was full of miners and mining machines. The forges, instruments of ancient times, are able to produce wondrous things, ranging from heaven-defying weapons to soul-shaking equipment. The skills of the dwarves were unequaled, fashioning objects of great beauty out of precious stones. Dwarves are skilled craftsmen, and most of their magic involves labour, craftsmanship, and metallurgy.

The dwarves of Jorennon were mostly dwemers: were an ancient, 'Lost Race' who had an advanced race and civilization, in many aspects far ahead of the other races and civilizations of their time. Those that studied these crafts would have been elevated to the highest, most respected, and most prestigious positions in Dwemer society and their city showed how important these ventures were, being marvels of these studies.

The king's hall was full of statues of the dwarven gods whom are: Ammir ,God of Gods, who didn't demand blood sacrifices and the most famous God, Shalrasil ,God of war, the strongest of all gods, Izenar ,God of mining, who blesses the workers everyday. Moony ,God of moon, who casts the moonlight, Thuttar ,God of pleasure, cheered by every dwarf who raise a cup of ale, Fumagi ,God of magic, worshiped only by mages and arcanists, Jotraer, God of death, who protects the dead. Last Krigyn, Goddess of love and fertility, who blesses all pregnant women with a safe pregnancy.

The king's hall also had a very large table for assemblies and planning, a long jeweled carpet that extended from the door, which was guarded by runes of power, to the king's throne. The crown was made of gold and decorated by gemstones including: Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Moonstone and a Diamond in the middle. The throne was carved from stones and had an unknown jewel called Edirskite: 'The heart of the mountain', it shone with the light of sun, star and moon, fair and bright.

Bolgar gemgatherer, the mightiest of the dwarf lords, was a strong king proved by his decisive decisions and powerful by Edirskite for both dwarven mages, warriors, lords and kings pledged to him. His riches grew and his influence expanded until the king's treasury was all filled with gold, silver and gems ,the surface of the treasury was so big as it was the third of Ner Moldir. However, his greed which knew no bounds, grew unceasingly and, eventually, swallowed him and thus he was called the mad king, blinded by gold, forsaking glory and honor for material wealth, it was a sickness in mind, and where sickness thrives bad things will follow.

His son and heir Gorgar orcslayer, who commanded legions of dwarves into battles and won all the wars, the hero of all dwarves and the most favorite by the gods. He had black hair, blue eyes, strong body and he was taller than a common dwarf. He had battle scars on his face which made him look more strong and more sexy to the women. He had a legendary great axe called Bruiser, a great double-headed steel axe decorated with moonstones and a golden grip.

He feared that those outsiders, who had been prying on his kingdom's wealth, will ally together against Jorennon. So, nervous and paranoid, the boy was granted an audience with his father, the king, so he spoke of his worries:"Father, my king, we have riches that will make our line wealthy for all eternity, you have to stop giving orders for mining because everyone will greed for our treasures and will collaborate against us and it's not a war that we can win.", the king responded:"No waaay!!! We need more gold, don't worry, our walls were never stormed before and it will always hold strong. I trust your tactics for I taught you myself, you're my son and heir but I want more gold and more shiny stones!". Gorgar knew that the he holds his kinsmen's fate, so he prepared the army, gathered his generals, and began readying himself for the upcoming fight. He constructed signals to warn the city, prepared the army and sent scouts.
