Chapter 3 - Arc 1 - 3

Darkwood. These are the only trees that grow in the Underworld. It has molten earth as its saps and the alluring effect of the trees themselves cause even the demons the most frightening confusions. They say that they can see faces, horrible faces, in the trees but its just the illusion made by its once only-resident.

This was the home of Lucifer. He used cursed arts to make this place as what it is. That was ages ago. After the bitter defeat of the demon race during the last Wave, Lucifer secluded himself in here. He cut of his connections with the other arch demons, and he was unseen for about a century.

The Lost Forest. It is what Lucifer's once home is now called. Due to the Light bringer's craftiness it has become a maze in which exit is normally impossible. It was known that after the First Lord of the Underworld, Satan, talked Lucifer into ascending to the throne, none has ever made it out of the Forest.

But now, it has another bypasser.

Dashing through the towering darkwoods was a figure. It has the form of a beast. A lion maybe? None that it matters, as its only goal is to get out of the infamous forest.

Still the maze knew better. The trees seemed to inch closer up to the beast, trapping it. No way out. It was their purpose. The warlock has decided for it to be their purpose. No one can stop them in fulfilling the order given to them.

On the other hand, the beast, knowing that his road is getting narrower, came to a halt, and it changed its form. It became a shady character. The trees recognize that face.

/Its him/

/He was with Satan then/

/The loyal retainer/

The whispers of the forest have grown louder. It was the character, the trees can tell, that Satan was with when their warlock has decided to leave his home. As the arch demon has immunity over Lucifer's sorcery, it was this figure, Satan's most trusted servant, that has surpassed the cunning illusions of the Forest. Since then, the Lost Forest knew no other entity to give safe passage with.

As the trees give way, the unexpected happened.

/Another guest/

In front of Satan's servant was a falling angel, floating in midair, with wings as black as the night. The angel held in his hand a large scythe. The figure knew the angel, as he was the representation of death itself.

"I fear I cannot let you out of this forest," the angel whispered.

The figure grunted. "Out of the way, Azrael. You know better that you mustn't flail around our domain."

"Let it be then," Azrael smirked. "I cant allow you to interfere with our plans. As far as everyone here is concerned, only you and Lucifer are the ones that doesn't have the slightest chance of agreeing with what we are about to do."

"So you made me leave Lord Lucifer's side," the figure forcefully said.

"It was a brilliant plan indeed."

"Was it Abaddon's idea?"

Azrael burst into laughter. "Believe it or not," he finally said ,"it was Asmodai."

The figure's blood ran cold upon hearing the name.

"Oh, how our delight have come when Asmodai have come to agree with our PLAN," Azrael playfully said. "It made things much easier. Imagine, we even get him to devise a way to seal Lucifer."

"WHAT?!"

"Oooops. I've said enough. Sorry, I didnt mean to . . . "

Azrael's words were cut out when the figure appeared right in front of him and punched his face. Due to the massive force, Azrael was sent flying across the forest. When he regained composure, he saw the figure letting out a dark mysterious aura. Azrael couldnt help but to chuckle.

"You will die, Azrael." the figure declared.

"Again, Im sorry, but . . ." Azrael paused, spinning his scythe in mid-air. A faint smile can be seen in the face of the Angel of Death. He caught with his right hand, pointing it at his adversary.

" . . . that is my line, Beelzebub."
