Chapter 35 - So called revenge (4)

She was tensed as she gulped thinking of a possible explanation for her self harm. He slowly approached her, and pulled up her gown.

Guirens mood died instantly as her marks were revealed. Marks she tried to cover up with her hands but he put them a way to take a closer look at her laps. He saw fresh wounds with blood stains.

It made him wonder why was she that scared. He was sure he'd try his possible best to help her at all means, she just had to be calm. He never expected her to hurt and scar herself for something she didn't do.

"Meilin... please calm down" he wrapped his arms around her. "I won't promise you peace. What we're going to experience from now on is a battle. Crying won't help, we need to think. You've got children meilin...think about them."

She broke down in his chest as her tears burst out, hands on his jacket as she sobbed and Guiren held her tightly in his arms and placed a kiss on her forehead "Everything will be okay."

The depressed woman nodded as her head laid on his shoulders of sweet solace and she could feel the warmth from his body once again.

"Ai jin" Haru placed a bouquet on her side table and his wife turned to look at him. She could see that he was broken. It was the first time in seventeen years she saw his eyes filled with tears.

She didn't say a word. Her mouth was sealed as he continued to cry out as he sunk to his knees "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry" he buried his face in her chest abdomen, rubbing her belly as he continued to apologize.

Ai jin began to hum a song, her eyes still locked on the ceiling and tears stuck at her ducts. She had no motivation to do anything else. Her husbands apology wasn't even getting to her. Her mind was damp and clouded with grey.

Haru remembered the past, every single thing he had done to her and every word he wished he could unsay. He wanted to make her a happy woman again, but he couldn't even fix himself right.

Her eyes were sunken, face ashened, everything ached and it hurt to move. He could tell she was struggling with her state of mind and his words weren't being processed in her mind.

"I only wanted my husband's love. I only wanted my husband's love. I only wanted my husbands love" She said repeatedly from her chapped lips and her chin started trembling like that of a small child.

Haru's pain was still an open wound. He blamed himself for what was happening to Ai Jin. She was a picture of grief and devastation all because of his obsession for another woman.

"Forgive me Ai jin" he pleaded. His lashes were weighed with tears and his lips trembled. "Please forgive baby Haru" heaving sobs tore from his throats and he didn't look away form his frozen wife.

"Our baby is dead right? Our baby couldn't make it alive right?" The truth was bitter but he gave a simple nod.

"She's going to jail right? She killed our baby right? She's going to pay right?"

Right...

"She's going to pay" That was a reminder for what he was going to do. His sadness was still raw but his tears ceased as the picture of meilin formed in his head. Despite having a face of dull red even at the end of his nose, he stepped out and headed for the doors of the hospital.

He was going to charge meilin for assaulting his wife and have her pay a fine that would ruin her. As for Guiren the traitor, He'd publish and article that'll ruin his company and have all his employees work for him.

He swore to make them suffer, if possible, break their bond. If there was anything else he had to take from her, he'd still do it. Even if he had to leave her body bare, he'd snatch every piece of clothing on her.

Under Ai Jin's face of depression, shock and pale, she was happy. It wasn't even his child and the guilt of lying against an innocent woman didn't get to her. She couldn't care less.

She smiled as she sipped casually from. the smoothie haru dropped off for her hours earlier and let out a deep breath of satisfaction.

"No wonder I'm an A list celebrity" She praised herself as she yawned "I already feel a headache from the tears" she complained massaging her temples with her finger tips "Meilin always makes me pass through stress. But it'll all be over soon and she's going to jail. Sorry Meilin but in the end, I win again" she burst into laughter as she stretched comfortably on the hospital bed.

It took days for haru to gather information on both Guiren and Meilin. At the same time he was helping Ai jin recover emotionally and physically.

He fed her, kissed her, spoke and sang to her when the need arose. At least he could get a happy version of her, one that he could live comfortably with.

"Hello. This is Miss Yee Zhao's residence Right?" Meilin nodded as she answered the door and stood in front of suited men with badges and a hand cuff being held by one of them.

She made way for them to enter as she closed the door. It wasn't good news to have them in her house. She didn't fancy the idea of it but she didn't have a choice. Haru must have made his first move. One she was afraid of the most.

She knew time would come when she had to leave her kids behind and might be in police custody for a while.

She had Guiren promise her that he'd take care of the kids while she's away for God knows how long. She didn't know if she'd come back, before and after the court hearing. She didn't know what would be have faith in the hands of the influential yang family.

There was no hope neither a miracle to begin with. Guiren could only try but the only thing that would help her out of her mess was if Ai jin confesses and tells everyone the truth before the Judge makes a final decision.

She surrendered herself to the police men and was handcuffed then led without tussle to the sun bleached vehicle. The car zoomed off and Haru, from a far distance watched it all.

It was only the beginning. He learnt from her neighbors and co workers that she had kids. Kids he had no clue about.

That summed up his next step. He'd take them away from her and makes sure she never sees them again.
