Chapter 18 - Temple

Apparently, Bells [Domain] was too unstable, she built her [Domain] with the energy from my core but she needed to make a core of her own. She was deciding on what core she wanted to build.

"Why not just use the Fae Tree as your [Core], that way you wouldn't have to go through the process of strengthening you're [Core]?" In my opinion, she was overthinking the problem with choosing her [Core].

"I can't just up and make the Fae Tree the [Core] of my [Domain], doing so will affect all fae life." Bell didn't even give my suggestion a second thought.

"What do you mean by that Bell?" Her comment made me confused.

"Look James, all fae life is connected to the Fae Tree, what do you think will happen is suddenly their connected to something on our power level?" That really didn't make sense now.

"They were born by your blood, the Fae Tree was made with your blood, if anything having the Fae Tree as your [Core] would just give them more strength, I also have a cool idea to reroute that extra strength so your whole fae race first becomes overpowered." My idea may not work as this is just a cool-hopeful-idea.

"Oh yeah and what might that be!" I could hear Bell's curiosity in her tone.

"What if you make it so that only the fae that makes it to the Fae Tree realm, which you could rename into something else by the way, escape the effects of time!" I was just going off a crazy idea.

"And before you shut me down, why not make it so if they leave the [Domain] of the Fae Tree after their natural lifespan they have a certain amount of time before they truly die." I could see and was processing my words with a thoughtful expression.

"Actually that not a bad idea, but I think I should tweak it a bit, like instead of escaping from the effects of time it would be better to just extend their lifespan with a contract of some sort." With a thoughtful expression she quickly returned to her realm.

"Oh and one more thing, you can fast forward the world, turning the Fae Tree into the [Core] for my realm will take a long time." Her voice echoed into the surrounding before I was left all alone.

"While the time speeds up I guess I should cultivate a bit..." After progressing to the third stage of Mana channeling I stopped but it was time to continue.

. . .

Before me lied the once great capital of the Gold Kingdom, rules by the royal family for who knows how long our human race has prospered. But that was just a cover-up, hidden underneath this lie was the truth behind the actions of the royal family.

Forbidden magic labeled as never supposed to reach the hands of man used daily. Magic that polluted the kinds of our race just so they can keep their position as royals, above all others.

Towns completely wiped hidden in lies to keep the truth from spreading. The crimes of the royal family could fill a whole library if give enough time. But now we know longer had to worry about the stain of the royal family.

Either killed or escaped into the vast sea the royal family severed their roots and hoped to find a new place to thrive off of. With the fall of the Gold Kingdom, the Kingdom Flame took over and now governed all of Inarith.

"Our journey has finally come to an end my friend." Red, June, Shila, and Aldwin all stood in the still broken palace of the Gold Kingdom.

"So this is it huh?" Red looked to be having trouble accepting the fact.

"You know as well as I do that our journey ends here, yours have just begun." June was holding Aldwina hand as she gazed at Red and Shila with tears.

"Is there no other way..." The Shila from long ago matured into a fine mage, being the first to reach the great mage realm.

"I afraid not, I am destined to ascend..."

"And I am not leaving your side!" June cut in quite forcefully, a determined look on her face.

"Then so be it, If the Flame Kingdom is met with destruction I shall step in only three times..." As Aldwin's words echoed throughout the room the two disappeared leaving their pasts behind.

. . .

Seeing their whole interaction I waited at the place where they would show up. The Palace Garden where Aldwin became a deity. The place still kept its beauty, the magic so dense it forms specks of floating light almost like fireflies. Monsters born from nature took shelter here from the harsh life of the outside.

As I waited Bell appeared besides me floating down to land on my shoulder. The wait wasn't a long one as the two appeared before us holding hands.

"I am no-" June was already speaking so I cut her off.

"You are no deity, but that doesn't me there isn't a place for you, Aldwin could make you his oracle, that will allow you two too be together." I wanted to say angel but I didn't have that option yet.

With a look of relief the two took a step forward, the mana swirling around all four of us, the specks of light forming a beautiful scene as the floated around us. A portal unseen to mortal eyes appeared before us four, what laid behind it was something I was working on when taking brakes from cultivation.

On the other side of the portal rested an unfinished temple, bright light reflecting from the sun reflecting off the glossy marble. All types of plants could be seen growing around the unfinished temple, a little garden off to the right side of the temple.

As we crossed through the portal it closed behind us, now Lori-el had another deity to look after it.
