A room for changing, A room for sleeping and the rest two for music, like there was no space for any other person in the house. Shawn was a friendly guy, but there was a big fat line between being friendly and sharing, and Shawn never crossed it. He was a type of guy that listened to everyone, exchanged views over who's dating whom, politics, scientific breakthroughs, but never talked about his own emotions.
When he was not out in the public performing, signing autographs, doing interviews, chilling out with friends, Shawn was found in his house, spending time with himself and his music, which was why it angered him when he thought about bringing strangers to his home.
He should have thought better. He decided to be careful in the future. He wasn't a regular guy with a regular lifestyle. Anything stupid he did was going to affect his family and career, and that was something he wanted to avoid as much as possible. He didn't want to give his father any excuses to talk to him more than a few words they exchanged every time he went home, which had been roughly five times in the past two years that he had been living alone in New York.
It took him a good twenty-five minutes to change into his work clothes-a white shirt and a pair of grey denims after trying not less than ten combinations and wrecking his whole closet for shirts. Once he was sure with the look for the day, he did a quick brush to his funky, golden-brown streaked hair, and marched back to the living room.
Silvers had been sitting on the leather couch in the living area adjacent to the dining space. He had his head cupped by his right hand, its elbow poking down the soft arm support of the couch, while his right leg crossed over the left, the posture of a great thinker. He was staring into space from what Shawn could guess since the television wasn't on. 'Here we go.' Shawn muttered softly.
'Hey Man!' Shawn said with a subtle taste of caution as he walked closer to the seating area. "How was your weekend in Belmont?"
'My whole family was there. You tell me how must that be like?' Silvers responded putting his right leg back on the ground.
'Sounds like a torture.' Shawn grinned as he sat comfortably on the other end of the couch.
'More than you'd think.' Silvers replied, sharing a quick fist bump with his maiden client.
'So, about the two girls… It appears one of them indeed was from the video. The shorter one.'
Shawn gave out a hearty laugh. It amazed him how sharply Silvers did his job.
'You don't like to waste any time, do you?" He asked with a smile.
'Well, as you know, my boss can't seem to keep it in his pants. I gotta be prepared.' Silvers grinned back. 'Anyway, the tall one shouldn't be a problem; she was invited by your event guy. If she does anything stupid, Nate gets the cut. And he has been made aware of that.' Silvers raised one of his eyebrows and smirked. 'The shorter one however has a notorious history, but I'll take care of it.'
'Thanks man. I mean, I literally have no idea what went down here. The last thing I remember was talking to this girl, the short one, about my favorite wine and then here we are. Nothing else comes to my mind.' Shawn added, sternly.
'Sure. You do what you gotta do. It had been an easy ride lately. I gotta say, I enjoyed a little digging. But it was all open in a couple of hours. Girls don't hide much from social media, do they?'
Shawn ignored the question with a smile.
'What about this Itika? Did you find any red flags?'
'She is twenty three to begin with, If that's a red flag for you. And she has several videos on her youtube channel, all of them start and end with dancing, no talking, no vloging. Some job profiles here and there. Nothing suspicious for now. She is half Indian. Is that a deal breaker?'
'No, Not for me.' Shawn answered, looking behind at Mrs. Millers who was waiting for his gesture for her to bring in some drinks. Realizing that, Shawn turned to Silvers and asked if he had any breakfast.
'I was thinking I would do some here. I even mentioned it to Mrs. Millers on our phone call. Why don't you head to the studio, I'll see you in the evening.'
Shawn and Silvers both got up from their seats. One headed for the main door, and the other for the intricately set breakfast meal on the same glass table.
