Jiwon stopped midway. Approaching the girl was another tall figure, holding an umbrella. He saw the figure sit beside her. Even though he could not hear them clearly, it was obvious they were bonding over their talk.
Unbeknownst to him, two other invisible figures were watching over the whole scene.
"Isn't that…?" Jade squinted his eyes to take a better look. "Isn't that Ash?"
It was unmistakably Ash. KJ, too, watched as Ash held the umbrella over Mirae's head. Unlike the younger Jiwon, they heard everything.
So this was their first meeting, KJ realized. He watched as Mirae completely broke down in front of Ash, something she never did in front of him. It ached his heart to see her like this.
"KJ…" Jade looked up to see KJ's unreadable expression. "Are you alright?"
